Josh, you are so generous to the community! I'll be getting a DS harp, this Summer & am very excited. Much of what you say will connect when I get my harp, but I watch you, Carolyn Deal, Laurie Riley, Christy-Lyn from S.A. & others. I have some nasty arthritis & hope to get my hip & thumbs/finger joints done next Winter, when the weather gets glum. I'll be getting lessons from Carolyn, as I like her attitude & I'm buying my harp from her. 🎉 I'll see where I want to go from there. Carolyn recommended your videos on hand positions, as the best series, for free. I'm impressed by your work ethic! BTW, I'm 62 & just beginning. That doesn't mean I'm going to sit on my behind & just go for easy! But, I am thinking of doing a bit of boogie woogie & big bands stuff in honor of my Dad who relished b being a teen & dancing on skates. I think he was a wild child! LOL
This was great, and Harp Tuesdays is so helpful! I'm still a bit confused on whether your thumb assists with the muffling, or if the thumb just plays and leaves the rest of the hand to muffle.
Great video!! Also, just wondering, do you have any videos on where to look while playing? I dont know if that's stupid to ask about.. but do you look at your right or left hand, or do you alternate..?
Oh, very interesting question! I think it will vary depending on which hand has the more challenging part or has to jump around more... But maybe a good subject for a future episode, thanks!
Thank you so much. It's exactly what I was looking for!
These two episodes are excellent. I was searching for how to dampen harp strings and found you that way. Now I'll be watching all of your videos!
Thank you so much, I finally understand how to properly muffle!
Thank you, I enjoy all your videos, please keep them coming!!
Thanks Josh! These videos are so helpful!

Fantastic, hope you have a wonderful time with your new harp - Dusty Strings makes some great harps! Thanks for the nice words :)
