Super Thank you- am even more excited now as we have a couple of nights stay at Arckaringa station on our list of places to stay as part of our Oodnadatta trip 😊
The glittery slabs are actually mica. Apparently, the area is known for it. Mica is used in electronics, etc. In fact, my convection heater at home has a sheet of mica in it that radiates infra red heat. It's called a "micathermal" heater. Works very well.
Yes we ended up losing two on the Oodnadatta section 😯 Looking at making up some options to stop it happening again. Maybe a stone stomper. Yes we loved the painted desert, will definitely be back there 🙂
@@Vantastic_Aus yeah zip tie works but there are special clips you can buy. Stone stompers are great idea I just ordered one for our new van so can have it fitted before we pick it up.
I'm surprised to see that you're getting dust in your van. We are on our third BT, and apart from getting dust in our first van, where the area under our fridge hadn't been sealed properly at the factory, we have no dust in our two other vans. Unlike you, we don't have the new door, but we close over our dust door and have sponge rubber between it and the main door. Dust entry could be around the fridge if the dust is mainly on the floor.
@@sawtybt1917 yes it is mainly on the floor near the fridge, so we suspect it's via the grill behind the fridge. Will get it checked when we take it back for a service.
Fabulous, thank you. ❤️🌺
Glad you enjoyed it Lenore.

Inez, I am sure you will enjoy it, it is an amazing spot, and well worth visiting.
Love your weekly content …love watching your adventures in your bushtracker…hopefully might see you on the road in our BT one day
@@jodidaly9711 Jodi, thanks for the feedback. Yes hopefully we will see you on the road somewhere 🙂
The glittery slabs are Gypsum. They were also at the Breakaways. Beautiful spot
@@TheMaz7538 thanks for the info. We had been wondering what they were 👍

@@A.S.K.1 thanks Steve. There was a lot of it there, might have to go and collect it, might be worth something 🤔
Have lost an Anderson on the Oodnadatta Track. If you dun some zip ties it stops it from happening.
Love the painted desert just epic.

@@filthyoffroadadventures yes I had a stone stomper on a previous tvan, just haven't ordered one yet for the BT, but have been looking at them.
