Miss R: I KNOW! My father died when I was 2 and I always secretly hoped that he would somehow come back. And when Jenny Agutter sees her father appear out of the mist and she cries, “Daddy! My daddy!” I am an absolute basket case every single time! And I am now 70. Go figure!
Did you know that Jenny Agutter (the older woman shown here) was first Roberta (the oldest daughter) in the 1970s version, then the mother in the 2000 version? :)
There is also a mini-series version, but Miss Agutter is not in it. I am a Railway Children fanatic. The 2000 Masterpiece version is my favourite because Jemima Rooper is fantastic as Bobbie and Gregor Fisher as Perks is a delight. Seeing Jenny Agutter as Mother is a special treat. I can't wait to see this new sequel.
Yes she is!! I love her she’s an amazing actress - especially in call the midwife- and the old guy with her at some point he is in the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society! X
nice to see it made in Yorkshire and nice to See Jenny Agutter reprising her role well I think it's she is reprising her but I don't know either way nice to see an old face again in the new version of the railway children well I think it is
This looks like a mish mash of "Whistle Down the Wind" and the "Famous Five". Nice to see Jenny Agutter out and about again, but where is Bernard Cribbins? At 93, his's still kicking around..... Kids and some old fans might like it...
It’s not her fault if she’s been in more Versions of the railway children Than any living actor She’s been in the TV show Been in the movie in the radio play Quite possibly on the stage And this one which is a direct sequel to the movie
Lol.. You seem a bundle of fun. Don't watch it then - but I'm sure it will attract a new audience. And by the way - a new film cannot "ruin" the original - which still exists and will be loved by future generations. 👍🏼
@@hudsynn3661 I see you put the word people in quotes. Isn't that the definition of unpersoning. unperson : To strip (a human being) of rights, identity or humanity.
You know, this post is like penises. A lot of people have them, some want to share them, but when they actually do it makes everything awkward and it usually leaves a lot to be desired.
A movie I didn’t know I needed and it’s got the old railway children in it 🙏🙌
Could you please tell me what year the one with the old railway children came out?
There was one in 1968, 1970 and 2000
boring crappy
The first one still kills me at the end when she says 'my daddy'.

Yes I did and she plays a sister in call the midwife

She is still playing Roberta in this version, too - just grown-up Roberta!

Can't wait to watch the original was always one of my favourites as a child

When and where? My kind of movie.

yea
the idea of the movie was back in the late 70s and early 80's they were thinking of making the sequel back then but some people that was I bad idea
Looks good
00:16 Is that the Bronte Family Parsonage House??? I love the Bronte siblings...
It is. Same location as the 1970 film. :)
@@waitsjunkie I knew it. Haha. Thank you fellow, Bronte-lover! I hope you have a nice day wherever you are. 😁

👍
😀😀😀
Is this based on a true story?
lol no
Part of it was based on The Battle of Bamber Bridge.
This gives me Narnia vibes. I don't know why

Jenny Agutter is in danger of being typecast.
As a good person? I'm okay with that.

That's right. From a nurse to a nun to a world council member.
@@HappyCynic It was a joke about her being in multiple versions of the Railway children. Pay attention
@@21stcenturyguy25 But jokes are supposed to be funny. Your comment wasn't.
Managed to ruinand pervert the legacy of the original in less than 2 minutes :/ don't touch a classic!

Ah a woke version of a beloved class. 🙄
@Deesar Thafaks because anything not pasty white and thin lipped is woke to these "people".

@@markbrown2206 exactly. The hypocrisy is amazing.
@Deesar Thafaks if you don't understand then there's no point trying to explain.
@Deesar Thafaks indeed and just as unsubtle.
I don't even know the children's pronouns. How could we possibly watch this without that info, bigot!
Seems like you have to much time on your hands to waste it, not thinking.
