  • Beside my project SteppenWolf, our expedition vehicle, I also draw plans for a new house. During the last 2 years we sold our house, bought a new place, made plans, selected a builder, choose CLT as main construction, 99% natural isolation. We visit the builder of the CLT in Latvia. We made the foundation by ourselves and some friends. Building a house for the first from scratch is not easy, for sure a CLT house. Planning, planning and planning of cables, pipes and so on.
Our house is made off CLT (Cross Laminated Timber), we used 100mm for the walls and 140mm for the ceiling.
The CLT has less then 1% glue
On the outside of the CLT we have a frame work of 145mm filled with cellulose and closed with Steico 22mm wood fibre panels with a wind/.rain membrane. On top of this we will have a facade of Padouk wood (Congo).
