It happens because people don't have the money to buy a set they don't really want then stores run out and all of a sudden people want the set cause they can't get it cheap anymore. Humans always want what they can't have.

Yep, I have a booster of FS because we pulled most of what we wanted and decided to save it. Picked it up for $80 about a year ago.
This is the most difficult conversation to talk to people about and not have it stick in there head 😂
not just increase, every booster box in english pkmn tcg history pretty much doubles in value after 5+ years
your so right will, these people are crazy, all the swsh booster box's were like 100 flat for the longest time

This will gradually slow down, people are saving PALLETS of product of the Scarlet & Violet era. People holding or flippers are not going to get rid of all that product easily
I'm glad I got the Gengar Vmax Alt, gave a valiant effort to pull it. Oh yeah, Lost Origin at Best Buy 3.99 all day they got etbs for $39.99 too Happy MOTHER'S Day to all the mothers out there!
That was an interesting tidbit about the resealed cases versus originally sealed cases. I decided to buy 6 BS booster boxes just before they sold out and they are on route now. I wonder what I'm going to get; an original sealed case or the resealed one you mentioned.
I don't see anyone being mad, maybe sad they didn't grab what they could while they could. But not mad, if you were surprised that pokemon stuff sells out over time. Writting was on the wall when CR and FS sold out. I grabbed a couple boxes, of BS and LO while it was still in stock.
I went to GameStop and they had no cards. No sword and shield for me I guess 😢
You can go online and buy packs of almost any Sword Shield product that you want for MSRP or less. You just can’t get booster boxes.
Why do you need booster boxes and why do you need to purchase them at GameStop?
I agree. Im one of those people that missed out on ES when the reprints came and i was too stubborn to pull the trigger at MSRP. I guess i was waiting for much lower price tag, and that hope never came. Then ES just keeps climbing and climbing and it got too far off. It was to a point that i lost interest and i feel so guilty for not buying it then. I’ve learned my lesson from ES and i didn’t let that happen to me again for LO. And so I was ordering LO booster case once every 3 weeks and i have enough now. I didn’t feel bad when it was out of stock because i was satisfied with my buy in. I think i know how to play the investment game now. I understand the feeling of being left out, but if you don’t learn from your mistakes, you’ll never be a better collector.

Awesome video. Saying it how it is! Just picked up a Fusion Strike booster box from the UK Pokémon centre. Current example is Paldea Evolved, no chance that will stay at £90ish over here. Get it cheap whilst you can!

lost origin is still in rotation it should not be sold out
It’s not - ETBs, build and battles, packs are still in stock and available at MSRP or lower.
Other investors are upset because the booster boxes specifically are sold out and going up in value and they “missed out”.
Players can still get their packs, it’s only the other investors who are upset.
@@BrokenAvatar idk man, fusion strike makes sense it rotated out. it literally makes no sense for a standard legal set to be unavailable a few weeks after rotation of the last stuff.

I think the people that are getting angry when product soars, are the same people that are looking for a quick cash flip. We don’t need them in the hobby.

Booster boxes always going up in value is a dangerous statement. That was not the case pre-2020 and past trends do not predict future values.
But they do. Over time. When you look at growth over multiple years, nine times out of the 10 the trend is always going up

While this has been true over the past 4 years, this wasn’t the case before then. There is a world where sealed product goes down or stagnates in the long term

People who are mad at the prices of SwSh going up are just newbies that don't understand the fundamentals of supply/demand and market cycles.
Pokemon is a Japanese company that is the world's largest IP. They have been around the block and have withstand many market cycles. The brand has been in existence for almost 30 years and is probably older than most whiny people who consistently complain about prices.
They are NOT going to destroy the confidence of the secondary market just to please a small % of the customer base. The people screaming for reprints due to the increasing value are the SAME people who were not buying when the prices were down significantly during the bear market of 2022-2023. These people had years to buy but chose not to. If they missed out, they have no one to blame but themselves.
The TCG is moving forward, and Pokemon is looking towards the future. There might be small leftover stock from time to time, but Pokemon is wise not to continually flood the market with older products to deteriorate any monetary value that their products have gain and mess with collectors long term.
Collectors/Investors are an integral part of the secondary market, along with players, stores, distributors, etc.
These same whiny people are the ones bashing SV right now and refuse to buy any. But as soon as prices increase, they will be whining all over again and demand a reprint. Same crap, different day from these types of people.
