Great story, nice to see another boat being saved from demolition, congratulations to you both for getting it all done, wishing your son many happy days sailing in his good looking boat 👍🏼😊🙏🏻
Of course there is cost in restoration and in that sense nothing is really free, however; there is calm and a sense of accomplishment in doing it yourself. That makes it free.

I love it that the dad and son did this together way to go guys. My son is 2 and a half now and I dream of doing stuff like this with him eventually. 😊❤

Nice 👍 we just got a 27” Catalina 1979 and doing the same!!! The boat was not submerged but the engine is so rusty 😞 I’m going to try to clean it up and see! Thank you for the video!

@@AfricanFlightStar Thank you! Your friend was so right. Carpe diem. Time passes quickly. I have worked in nursing for many years and am growing old myself. I have met many wonderful people in the autumn of their lives. They have helped me understand what's important. I have currently put my daily life on hold and taken a leave at work in order to care for my mother at home. She is on hospice and it's not been easy. Talking with my daughter she said she had always seen me do for others. She asked when I was going to do something for myself. There just never has been time. I told her that I indeed had a small bucket list. When she pressed me I mentioned sailing. Growing up in the midwest amongst the corn, I had very little exposure to it. Better to restore stuff than playing time waster video games
@@mitjed What about a boat restoring video game.
@@thelast344 Except that one, like the video game e-sail, i don't think kids will like it. Most video games that kids like are time wasters.

He can drink beer on his own boat 😉

Or perhaps even a lucrative career. Good Boat mechanics and craftsman are worth their weight in gold, as most of us know.
Drugs would be cheaper than boating.
I'm at the other end, looking back on a lifetime of sailing and living on boats. I wish you well in this big adventure to come.
