I always prefer Lucio Dalla's version. An interesting side note - in addition to his performance in Capri, I bumped into him once in Rome in the late 80s. I was walking around the corner going one way and he was running around the corner coming the other way... running away from paparazzi chasing him with their cameras! I didn't even know who it was until after the fact... It was like a hit and run! I said to by fiance Massimo "what a jerk, he didn't even stop to apologize" and Massimo replied "Tesura, that was Lucio Dalla and I think he's got bigger problems right now"😂 I said, oh.... I thought he looked familiar Lol 😂😂😂

There are a number of fabulous tenors from the 20th century, each with a slightly different tonal quality, which would make them suited to different roles. But none has quite the "ping" in his voice that Pavarotti did. No one I'd rather hear singing traditional Italian songs like this!

There are a number of fabulous tenors from the 20th century, each with a slightly different tonal quality, which would make them suited to different roles. But none has quite the "ping" in his voice that Pavarotti did. No one I'd rather hear singing traditional Italian songs like this!
