Ps I had a look at your play list and did you know I worked for the daily telegraph in Canary Wharf for almost 15 years and every night I would drop the daily telegraph off at the sunborn yacht hotel , I went on this the first night it opened way back lol

Thanks for the review - it was informative and enjoyable. We'll be flying out of T5 next year (for the first time for years) on an early morning flight and we're attracted to the Sofitel because of the direct connection to the terminal. In fact we're thinking of not using the car at all - train from Yorkshire to London, taxi to Paddington, Heathrow Express to T5 & then a short walk to the hotel, is all looking increasingly tempting! One question, please: I hadn't thought about using the Club Millesime facility. Do you think the evening canapés there would be a good substitute for a dinner?

The evening canapés were lovely, they served different cheeses with crackers, spring rolls, small meat skewers, nuts & fruit, hot and cold drinks and there was plenty available however nothing super filling/heavy so it would be difficult to say whether that would be sufficient for a meal for you. This is the first review I've come across about this hotel. I'm on my 30th stay there in four weeks time, and over the years have accrued Platinum Status with the All Accor Group. If I pay for a classic room, I automatically get upgraded to the same room type as you stayed in plus I get automatic lounge and spa access for free. If I stay in a Prestige Suite, and I'm on my third stay in that room category this year, all drinks in the mini bar are free including alcohol, so they come to my destination with me. I also receive a free Welcome Drink in the bar or restaurant due to my status, so it's worth joining All Accor if you fly out off Heathrow as I do, but just for leisure purposes. I also receive extra amenities such as chocolates and high end bottles of water in my room,. The staff even made a ganache birthday cake free of charge for my nieces birthday when we stayed there last year. It's the little touches that I am impressed with and continue to book rooms there. If you use points, you can stay there for practically nothing. Thanks for sharing this video and getting me into holiday mode for 4 weeks time.

We're members of All Accor Group but unfortunately haven't reach Platinum Status yet...but you are definitely making it sound like its worth collecting points for! We were also big fans of the hotel and really looking forward to staying there next time we fly out of Heathrow. There’s a Hilton and Holiday inn attached to T4 and a Hilton Garden Inn adjoining T2/3 so not the only hotel attached to the airport.
