This video shows a complete workflow and educational insight on fabricating a provisional implant crown on an implant that was placed by Dr. Buie. He scans the patient with a DESS scan body which gives the implant positioning, then brings the scans into exocad to design the provisional, which will be used for tissue shaping for at least a month. He then exports the .STL file to core3d for milling in PMMA. When received, some work is needed to lute the prefabricated abutment (Angle-base from DESS) to the provisional restoration. Dr. Buie will shape and finish the restoration before insertion into the mouth, typically for one month before a final impression that shows a proper gingival profile is made. This is the advantage of going to a prosthodontist- an ADA specialist who knows the entire process from beginning to end, controlling all aspects of the surgical and restorative phase.
Hi John, what modules of exocad do you need to perform this procedure? Exoplan and implant module ? Do you also need the provisional module?
