Thank you so much, that really means a lot :) Very passionate, indeed - but most of all about the teaching itself!

Great presentation I appreciate that. I remember there was a period in my life having this strange sense of resentment toward my father's generation for the past history. Looking back, that sentiment was one of the initial motivations to come to United States. I loved my dad, but wanted to go against him by fully accepting the American and western European culture... I was young.

Wow, really appreciate you sharing! Would be interested in knowing more about your perspective on American/Western culture now, if you're willing to share? Thanks for watching!

@@jeddle Not an easy question to answer. Things have been changed so much that my opinion has changed a lot. You see? When I came to the United States in 1983, it was still deep in the cold war era with Soviet Union. A very different world. Being Japanese in US wasn’t too cool those days I tell you. I had to hear rather annoying WW-II topics from old Americans all the time. Now things are very different. If you are Japanese, Japanese mix, or having some strong ties with Japan, you’re simply cool and seen positive or lucky. It’s so interesting for me to observe the transformation. Ishiguro's take helps me to enrich my memories though...

@@yoshitomosaito8879 Thank you so much for sharing :) Well I'm glad you're now cool, positive and lucky, and it's awesome that Ishiguro is able to invoke that kind of nostalgia.

my thing i am grappling with is his misperception of what his daughter was suggesting in regards to his reputation hampering Norikos marriage... was it that he had made it seem like it was his reputation when it really was more to do with his daughters concerns with his suicide, or?
