5 Functional Modifications Installed on 3 Jeep Wranglers
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 чер 2024
- Come hang out in the garage with me as I make a few modifications and functional upgrades to each of our 3 Jeep Wranglers...the JK, the 392, and Regena's 2-door JL.
I have to replace a broken bump stop, then I'll be installing new Mopar windshield wipers (trust me, these are cool!), installing a Vector Off-Road dash rail (that has a very nice little detail added), adding some rock lights, and installing some hood struts. After all that, I'm going to uninstall a previous modification on Regena's Jeep (something she really, really wanted, until she didn't! 🙄)
There's lots to do in this episode and I hope you enjoy!

This feels like if Bob Ross owned a Jeep and did mods. I love it
It would be a "happy" jeep.
Would've taken me two days without the filming. It's great that you always put Regina's needs at the top of the list, B-man. Excellent video, as always.
Nailed it - Filiming is a time consumer, but Brad makes it seem natural
Good job Brad giving all of us a fine example of preventive maintenance and keeping an eye out for things that touch and can wear.
That wiper setup is sweet, I really like that. It would be cool if someone other than Mopar offered this, because I can see it being practical on more than just wranglers for sure!
Great reminder of things to look for with regard to preventative maintenance. Regina is well taken care of. 👍
Those prop rods are awesome. Airing up on a windy day with the hood up and the compressor connected to the battery. The hood bouncing around pulled the factory rod out of the hole. Fortunately, I was walking by and caught the hood before the rod damaged something in the engine compartment. I liked it so much, I bought some for our other 2 vehicles. Super easy install and worth every penny!
Always fun hangin' in the garage watchin' someone else do all the work. {grin} Nice maintenance/mods reminds me that I need to replace my bumpstops. Sure wish the stock "sliders" for an Xterra were like those on a jeep. And you're right about the hood struts for any vehicle. Those were one of the first mods I did. It gave me an extra 3 inches of lift, and it got that rod outta the way so I can work under the hood easier. Until next time... Travel safe.
Great video Brad. I do all of my own installs as well, and found this very easy to follow along with. Having a steel DV8 hood, I never even thought about struts, until NOW. Thanks for that
This is exactly why I love the Jeep. You can make it exactly like you like it. There’s no standard anything. You can go completely basic and simple with a 3.6 and stick or go full auto with a 392, or even upgrade to a hellcat. And then you can go with bare-bones and soft-top, or full trim with leather and electric everything and hard-top. You can go with basic 17s and 31, or run with 24s and 40s. There’s no other vehicle other than probably a Harley that has this level of customization.
I love your videos of you and Regina out on the trail but I really love these videos even more cause I get to learn how to do these projects!
Awesome! Thank you!
Also a good tip is to wrap with spiral cable wrap. To protect it. I use it to protect my brake lines. Because there is no good place to tie down the lines till I make them longer.
Always a treat waking up having coffee and seeing an upload up. Thanks for showing us some of these upgrades. Looking to put those hood struts on my JTR. Thanks Brad.
Man that vector mounting setup is awesome. I wish they made something that cool for the ZJ's
Great video! I think I saw your wife's jeep earlier today at the Miramar Commissary. I was 2 spots away from it in the parking lot. I have the big blue Silverado with offroad lights and radio antennas. You have a nice looking rig. Pointed it out to my boys. I think we passed each other in the commissary, too. I decided to not bother you as I figured you had things you needed to get done. I certainly did, too.
I was there yesterday! You totally should have said hello...it would not have bothered me at all. ☺
Thanks! I just did the hood struts, what an easy, functional upgrade. Love it.
Great to see you back in the garage doing a few projects!!
I learn something new with every video Brad. Thanks again!
This video is living proof of WHY I subscribed! Many thanks!
I just bought my first jeep and I want to thank you for all your videos! I'm watching all of them! Grazie Brad 😁 ciao da Bologna 🇮🇹
what awesome upgrades. Looks like I am overdue for new rear lower bump stops on our JKU. I had been eyeing the hood struts before. So handy and seems to be easy enough for even me to install. Still a tad intimated with he rock lights to install myself, but we shall see. what a great video! Can't wait to see your Death Valley adventure Brad!
Great video as always mate. I nearly had a heart attack when you threw the tools on the bonnet of the 392 though😂😂
These Jeep build videos are my favorite
Good job, master chief.
Great video Brad, super helpful and I'm getting all of these added to the 2020 JLUR!!
I have seen that accessory switch panel. I will have to look under the hood to see the other end. Thanks!
I purchased this Mopar performance wiper kit. The nicest part is the Jeep logo on the wipers. In my opinion don't waste your hard earned cash, I went back to the OEM squirters. They work better. I also got the hood struts, those I love.! 👍
Fun add on only for JK's is the ICEBOX bottle opener. Cool and functional!
All great mods. If you haven't seen it, BadgeGlow makes a simple aux for the auxiliary switches on the JL that makes connecting to those switches much easier and is much cleaner than the loose wire ends that Jeep sent them out with.
FWIW, love these upgrade videos so much. Trip videos are great, but I can't always keep up and always watch these first when they post.
Love the hood struts, wiper blades and rock lights. I thought I was done with my JL ... obviously NOT! LOL
Brad, I just received your T-Shirt, sticker, and patch. GREAT quality, everyone needs to buy these! Thank you
Awesome, thank you for the support!
I love my Vector Offroad bar on my JKU...great upgrade. I had some horrible luck with the hood struts though. They were so strong that closing the hood bent my hood hinge brackets. The bent enough to increase the gap between the cowl and the hood by around 3/8". It's very noticeable.
Great add-ons. Kool-aid video. All a great aid. Rock on Trail Recon
Headed to one of my favorite places, Death Valley. My family just loves it and if we don't go Jeepin in DV during Spring Break for 9-10 days, they are all bummed out. Great mods, we haven't put rock lights on the Jeep yet, I've really got to get to that project.
Another add to my jeep today. Those struts were easy to install. Just like yours the driver side gave me some trouble. Thanks
I like that you do a lot of your own work !
Great video, just ordered those hood struts. You're right, they should be factory.
It took me 3 days to install pro rocks on my JKU and it took 3 days to run my 2 sets 12 total kc rock lights. I ended up running all the wiring in the frame and the bus bar I put under the seat belt reel and used the drain plugs as a grommet in the floor then up the frame to the switch pod. I have had zero issues and a very nice product. I will say took a lot longer then I thought it would
Hey Brad, I just got my Outback Adventures Tailgate Table, Maxx Traxx with the mount and the guy ropes delivered from your site today while watching your video. I ordered on Nov 10th and got it all today on the 16th. That's pretty quick when you consider that Veterans Day was in there. Its all just in time for our Jeep camping trip starting in Roswell NM after Thanksgiving. Were going places we have not been before and some that we have been at.
Those Jeeps looks as just coming out of the factory...👍👊
I would love those rock lights
Great upgrades
We live with plenty of winter, I really like the factory steps in the JK & the JL, just to keep the sand/salt/slush off the Jeep!
Just ordered the Visios .... had 8.5" of snow (first real snow with the Rubi4xe) Defrost & wipers were worthless! Thanks for all the great videos!
Lota fun.... more of these videos, thanks.
Good to see your video! Love those rock lights.
Will be curious how Death Valley is doing after the floods.
GM used to have its windshield washer nozzles on the wiper arms. They absolutely flooded the windshield and got it clean. Every car should be like that.
Ey Brad! I am seeing a lot of changes in Regina's JLR!!! Reservoir shocks, Xtreme Recon wheels (those look SO GOOD with the yellow!)... We need a walk-around with the story on the upgrades and components on that Jeep! Looking NICE! Oh, and also, that silver in the JKUR still shines! Mint!
We actually did a video last month, ua-cam.com/video/2E787XeZpHg/v-deo.html.
Another great video, be careful you don’t block airbags. Don’t want a iPad in the face if you ever got unlucky.
Smart mods and hard work 👍🏼👏🏼
Nice video mate, i will steal your idea on that vector bar and wipers😏💪
Nice video mate.
I think your videos are great !!!
I enjoy watching your channel
Thank you very much!
Excellent video!
Interesting that the KC Cyclones were the old version. Not the V2’s. Great video Brad, I think I am going to do those hood struts on my 392.
I said they had been sitting on my shelf for a while! LOL!
@@TrailRecon lol, ya you did say that. Take care man
Cool upgrade. One thing I wonder is whether you’ll find yourself going through washer fluid faster? Or will it even out because you’ll get more coverage quicker? Be interested to see if you notice a difference
You have a great point but I'd rather have my windows cleaned quicker and just carry extra solvent and refill the tank up with solvent...
This wiper spray mod is for Heavy Duty soiling, leading he accumulated with washer spray and is not normal moderation at all.
I like it.
Also I put ppf film on all my cars windshields then ceramic coat the film so that any dirt or debris glide off with just a light oem spray.
Factory JL/JT aux switches are the best value of any option Jeep has ever offered.
3/8" drive Allen wrenches and a 3/8 low torque wrench. I would recommend that for the bead locks over just hand tightening
Now that wiper upgrade I could use that on the ram trucks 👍🏻👍🏻
I've been thinking about a dash mount, Not sure about the wiper fluid thing. I like the rock lights. Always good videos.
Nice features the bumpstop with "indentation"... I'd like to have in my JK "Mopar Visio Wiper Blades"!
Anybody ever watch Trucks! With Stacey David? This reminded me of it.
You are going to need some gallons of windshield washer fluid to carry out with you because that new mod looks like it works great but squirts out a lot of fluid. Congrats!
Thanks for the video! I’m going to order those hood struts for my JK right now! Being a fairly short girl, getting the hood propped up can be a challenge 😂
That hood struit mod is excellent !
I smashed my wrist with the Woman's hood. All my fault. I just simply let go of the hood and it clocked me 😅
Love hanging out in the garage with you, Brad! Really like those hood struts. Where'd you get them?
Really enjoy your content. Maybe you did, but when you jacked up the JKU to install the bump stops... you didn't mention putting a jack stand in place so that you weren't just relying on the jack to hold up the vehicle. Jack stands are totally necessary when working under the vehicle.
Can't assume people watching know this. It appeared that only the jack was in use.
Again, love the channel, been following for years and have found your content extremely helpful. Cheers
That is insane how heavy the aftermarket rails were.
Interesting that you need a puller to remove the JL's wipers. When I last removed the cowl off my '16 JK, I just removed the nut and they popped right off.
Great video as always! Are you going to do an update on wiring those rock lights? Thanks!
That Vector rail is the Bee's Knee's!!!
Agree, I really like it!
@11:50 it rains a lot in SoCal in 2023!!! Lol
nice up grades
Great video as always. Curious why using hood struts when you can just open the hood all the up by resting on the windshield. I've done thus starting with my 03 TJ and continued on my 16 JK. Gives can lot more room to work and saved cash to put towards another project.
might do rock lights on the Landy, although I don't lane at night often, it's handy if I do, that is if they don't just get mudded up and covered... 😛
Hey Brad, please make a video of you having your windshield replaced on your 392!!
Honestly, it's just a phone call and have the mobile guys come out, I don't do windshields.
I love little projects! I just picked up a jk. After years of TJs. Haha
Thanks and congrats no the new JK!
@@TrailRecon love your channel! Hopefully I have half the channel as you down the road!
Flipping that track bar bolt around should keep it from rubbing on the bump stops
That windshield though....🤣
Rey nice
I love my hood struts! Except for the times that I want to lift the hood all the way back onto the roof for better access. It’s not hard to disconnect the struts but just inconvenient for this application.
I’ve been dying to know. How wide is the stance on your jk? I absolutely love the way it looks!
I can't wait to buy my jeep, is my dream car; I'll follow you
Love the vector mounts but it sure would be nice if the bolts and washers that go into the posts were black I hate the way they reflect in the windshield.
Nice video Brad! Enjoyed the installs and preventative maintenance. Did you sell the Bronco?
Thanks, more on the Bronco in a future video.
You already have them but I think a necessary and easy modification is front and rear differential covers. I’ve smacked my diffs coming off ledges before and that’s definitely something where you want to keep the spinny parts from touching the non spinny parts 🤣.
The infomous Crack on the 392 windshield
Great video brotha. Do you still have the Power wagon?
I ent very nice 👍👍
Noticed the 7th comm flag. I was there in 1998
Was looking at the wippers for my JKU, just wondering how easy it is to replace and how is the proformace of them and the cost of replacement blades.
I dol I like all your jeep am Thailand
those are MONSTER sized wheels dude. hahahahah
Another great video! Do you have a link for the hood struts?
Brad, do you have a link for the hood strut kit that was installed on Regina’s two door?
Thank you.
Enjoyed the tips video
Brad, how do you like the mount that bolts under the bottom of the driver grab handle?
Brad, a quick tip on putting those big tires and wheels back on from a former tire dealer. Grab a long crow bar and use it to lift and position the tire by placing it on the bottom edge of tire on bar and lifting with the bar. It will save your back i promise.
Another tip I learned years on a D600 Dodge truck. Round nose shovel works well. And you might just need it for something else too!!
You should of used the other vector off road bar. I mounted 2 tablets, a phone, and my gmrs radio to it no problem
Do you have any suggestions for a wench? Been combing through your videos and haven't found it yet if you do have one! Love your content and suggestions on just about everything JEEP. Thank you for all the videos
The windshield wipers look cool. Though, I wonder if the fluid-hose for it shouldn't be tucked up under or with the arm. And the holes on the underside.
It looks like the wipers fluid will be sprayed on the window while the wipers are going down leaving fluid on the windshield?? Does that make sense? Curious to see those in-action out on the road or off-road, as it were.
Love your videos. I will own another Jeep or Bronco sooner than later (3rd Jeep if I go that route = 1978 CJ-7 304 v8 Renegade Levi Edition and 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition.)
God Bless & Godspeed.
Mate I'm far from being a Jeep person but fairdinkum I love the way they have 10000 attachments and upgrades that just bolt on, pity Toyota don't take a page out of Jeeps hand book.
