- Practically no power ups. I picked up the planted piranha plant, but it proved useless.

Why do so many people hate on this game so much? I mean it's no galaxy or odyssey but I still had a blast playing it.

Clock_Wolf94 I think it is because it reused so much from 3D land which was a game that already reused so much it self from older Mario games and on top of that the only 3D Mario game on the Wii U was only a sequel to a 3Ds game that was already pretty simple and was not a grand scale 3D Mario adventure people were hoping for.
Master knickerbocker yeah I see what you mean. I still say this was a really solid game. 4- player co-op in a 3D environment, fun level designs, cool power-ups, and World Bowser as a whole is amazing
I honestly love this game for taking the basic sidescrolling linear level - by - level mario games and turning them into 3D which I find is even more enjoyable. It shouldn't be compared to galaxy because it isn't a galaxy game, it's the same as the 2D platforms but in a 3D world. Also it's got a killer soundtrack

Apparently, I guess pretty good at the game. I didn't even know Toad was considered the hardest character to play as. He just felt better to me, so I used him the entire all the way through.
Im not gonna lie I couldn't believe myself after finishing it either, I was so tired, and yet so proud I didn't even wanna play this damn game for a while after that...

My husband and I tried to complete it without looking at any video but we got stuck so many times.. We died and died and died. I even thought maybe it was impossible with toad as I read he doesnt jump as much as the others. But I clear all other stages with him and didnt want to change. Your video was specially helpful during the red blue cubes and the speedy run platforms. I watched really carefully to never spoil the next stage hehe
We still needed powerup to clear (Raccoon) as Im still unable to do the jumps at 2:34 . We only use in that part because I always fail, panic and become so nervous..
Our next goal is to clear without powerup. Hope one day I can update this comment with a succesful story.
Oh I died and died and died too, lol. I think I lost around 300 before restocking. Since this game has max lives at 1,110, that means I lost another 112 before finally succeeding. Keep at it, you'll get there soon enough. Keep in mind that I did this on the Wii U. If you're on Switch, they all run a bit faster. I believe their jump heights are still the same, though.

Well, they never stop the timer at any portion of any other level. Shoulda given you a +100 clock or two beforehand though, like the castle levels do after their bosses
Let's be honest. Who ACTUALLY played Mario in this game? Peach, Toad, Rosalina and Luigi are so much better.
Well, technically I did. Kinda' necessary to 100% it. Aside from that, I guess you're right. I almost never pick Mario.
Luigi are the worst for me
Jorgeroots same here. I have the hardest time with him. Mario is a bit of an allrounder, which works okay for me. My favourite is Rosalina tho. A character with a build in upgrade is always a good thing to have. Toad is is second, being quicker than the other characters helps in some levels

It would, but luckily the golden flags are a lot easier to get in this game than they are in 3D Land.
Haven't played 3D land but do watch some videos about getting the gold flag.
SteveN Rolling long jump [ZL+Y (X) into a long jump] and the tannoki leaf both *really* help.

oh woah you do pretty much faster than I've imagined of possible time with toad, the changing platforms I always thought spin jumps were needed, and you just did that so much faster.

I recently got the game the Bowsers Fury game with Christmas money (because years ago I watched ZachScottGames), and in 1.5 months (now) I got to World-Crown, and just need to beat this level and get the rest of the stars in Mystery House Marathon to beat the game. It’s kinda sad how I just plowed through the game without taking any time, I wanted a full experience like the UA-camrs did. I never even knew that this level existed, neither the space worlds.

Nice run. I myself can't get past that final part with the key coins and lasers everywhere; the timing is so BS, but I see here that groundpounding can help. I'll try that if I ever feel like going back to that level ^^

Pretty nice.. been working on my all-characters clear, and Toad's short jumps have been frustrating me at the final segment. I'll definitely make try out that ground pound thing. Beginning is nice too.. I was puzzled over what method would get you past it without waiting on the platform. And yeah I've dumped like 1000+ lives into this.....

Not exactly luck. A lot of practice and trial and error.
This is an alternative timeline to darker side.
Let me explain:
At the end of captain toad treasure tracker Wii u AKA original cap'n toad goes down the clear pipe to 3d world
At the end of the deluxe he chases the odyssey, and joins that timeline.
Tl:;Dr 3d world and oddysey are separate timelines splitting at cap'n toad treasure tracker

I remember a few years ago I tried to beat this and I didn't even know what a long jump was or how to do it.
Gosh golly do I miss this game. I can't have my Wii U with me on campus but I try to play through 3D world every time I'm at home because it has to be my favorite game in the series.

@@DylanDude Is it? I've always found most of it to be a breeze. Only a handful of purple coin missions, I thought, were challenging, while 3D World picks up it's difficulty at around World 5. But maybe that's because I grew up with Galaxy longer.
Linus I struggled way more with Galaxy on my first play through than I did 3D World.

Wow! Nicely done. The only thing you didn't do *perfectly* is face the fuzzies when you were holding the plant. Then it would have eaten most of them.
Gonna be honest: I never played this game until recently, but damn is this one of the best Wii U games. It’s OST is so good it hurts, and gameplay wise? Don’t even get me started. 3D World is a damn good game.
I admit that this is very hard...but I did the exact same thing you did without taking damage...and not only once...I had to practice 3 months to get that good...but I didnt even play all day and if I played, I didnt play this game the whole time....so, kind of 3 months :)

I made it to the 5th part without using powerups. After that, I gave up and started farming tanookis at 3-1 to make it past the piranha creepers more easily. Helps immensely with the beep block staircase too. I have yet to get to the end of the final part however. Will probably be easier once I find a way to preserve my tanooki through the water.

Most of the level is relatively easy but the speed boost part is the bane of my existence.

For me the water bit was the hardest part of the stage. Some might argue that the speed panels were the hardest but I found that if I got passed the water part I would almost always complete the stage.
