This is brilliant! Really awesome stuff. Id love a lead sheet or a transcription of what you're playing! Im slowing it down and trying to transcribe but I'd love to know how you were thinking about things
Thank you! It's simpler than it sounds honestly - the chord progression is Cmin, Amin, Bbsus, Emaj and all the lines are diatonic to each chord. The thing I try to keep in mind when moving between keys is thinking about where I would like to land when the next chord comes around. So for example, I will play a line in C minor that ends on a B which is the 9th of the next chord, A minor - this makes your playing sound a lot more connected especially when there is lots of key changes
@@Ruthevin Very good phrasing! I saw your chord progression explanation on the Reddit thread. Thanks for the insight! For some reason, I keep hearing the last chord as a BMaj instead of the EMaj! Also, I hear c harmonic min over the A (which makes sense, other than the Eb) but this is just an anecdote. I am hearing cmin/EbMaj working really well over the whole thing, just gotta weave in better phrasing. Stuck on that last chord though!
Amazing to see you back on the drums! cant believe it! such an amazing tune!
Thanks dude! haha yeah feels weird to be back on drums after a decade of not playing
