This solo is awesome. But also: ua-cam.com/video/8R6StQfLNbw/v-deo.html
was thinking the same thing, this man was ripping it the exact same way Gilmour did
0:44 that bend gives me the chills every time fam
Legit. That’s among the best covers I’ve heard. I knew the first two notes where it was going. Nailed the tone and feel.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
totally agree
Tremendous cover..you do Gilmour justice.
Thank you! Really appreciate that.
Nowadays when I want to listen have a cigar solo, I find myself here. It's just great !
Wow thank you, I really appreciate that!
(Although I’d definitely recommend the original from time to time 😁😉).
NAILED it!
Hypnotizing. Can't stop watching this ! Those five bends at 1:29 at 17th fret are just insanely beautiful. Mesmerizing.
One of Floyd's most underrated songs and Gilmour's solos! You did it great justice - tone and phrasing absolutely on point! 👏🏼The only shame is this has only 33k views!
Thanks so much for your kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Hands down the best cover of this solo!!

Holly fuck!!! Oh yeah m8 fucking well done !!!
Awesome
Perfect
thanks, man! masterpiece.
Great tone!!!!
What a tone Man
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful song choice and beautiful cover 👍
Thank you!
Awesome, you nailed it, and some! How you got that tone from a strat I don’t know, as I recall Mr G spent a small fortune on his equipment which was all custom stuff. .
Oh my god! Its amazing! Thanks for this! Congrat my friend!
Thank you! 🙏😀
In the mid to late 70’s we let the album play a couple notes and then we tried to figure out how it was done. When we were confident we had it we went on to the next couple of notes. It was a tedious process because we had no videos. I/ we did that for every song we learned.
Wow, man! Great playing, touch and tone!
Thanks so much! 😊
I like
you killed it!!
That tone is so tasty! What gear are you using?
Thanks! It’s been a while but I think this was an EHX Soulfood pedal into a TC Electronic MojoMojo overdrive. Both really affordable and great sounding pedals! They went in to my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp and then recorded with an SM57 mic into Logic. The reverb is from the amp. Hope that helps! Cheers
nice, Roger said phone him
Awesome work, dude. It should have more views
Thanks man.
Awesome. Great cover.
Thank you!
sound amazing !
Thank you 😊
Amazing!
Thank you!
love it
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
One of my fav PF songs and solos. Great job.
You using 9 gauge or 10 gauge strings?
Thanks! Mine too. I used Elixir Optiweb 10-46.
Spettacolare, bravo ! 👏
Thank you!
Great cover, its not just the feel its the tone. Congrats, what are you using for this tone? It sounds so accurate, amazing.
Thank you, I really appreciate that! You can see a list of the gear I used in the description box! :)
If you'd speed-up this video to 1.25... I'd say this guitar playing turns out much better! 😆 Unfortunately, the BG music is also sped-up. Maybe you should do another one where you accelerate your guitar playing to 1.25 while keeping the BG music at normal speed rate.
Just an idea 🤔
Dos cover foi um dos melhores solo dessa música que assisti
jonatas alvesdasilva thanks! 😊
Awesome cover!!! Is this only the bridge pickup or are you doing the Gilmore thing and adding the neck
Thank you! I’m just using the bridge pick up for this one. 👍
Dude this is spot on. I want to record as well, which backing track u used? can u give me the specific link?
Thank you! I really appreciate that! I've added a link in the description for you to download the backing track. I look forward to hearing your version :)
@@floyd_fanatic no worries mate! Thanks for the sub!
Bloody hell greg
Great cover. Unpopular opinion: this is Gilmour's best solo.
Thank you! Not unpopular with me, totally agree!
@@GregShute I just say that as Comfortably Numb is the typical answer I hear/see when discussion of Gilmour's solos comes up.
@@jeremiahscarlett1784 yeah definitely, for me though Have a Cigar and the outro solo from Pigs (Three Different Ones) are Gilmours’ best solos. Pure class. Thanks for commenting!
Man, can you just describe how you get this amazing tone. I've been trying to reproduct it on my Helix for a long time, so if you could give me some tips about pedals and EQ setting i'll be very gratefull
Hi Pavel, thanks for your comment! It's been a while but I think I used an EHX Soul Food OD going into a TC Electronics MojoMojo OD pedal. I experimented with various combinations of pedals but those two stacked together just seemed to get fairly close to the tone I wanted. I think I set the Mojo Mojo with the drive at about 60% and the Soul Food about 50%. That went into my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe clean channel with the bass and mid set fairly low and the treble at about 60%. The reverb was straight from the amp. I think I also added some light compression in Logic Pro X and that was about it! It was a little while ago so its all from memory but I think that's pretty close! I hope that helps!
Cheers, Greg
@@GregShute Thanks a lot. Very nice to see so responsive people in guitar community
@@pavelklevtsov5741 you’re welcome!
Hola 👋 gran video!! Es uno de mis favoritos este solo.. Tab los tenés para pasarme 👍👍por favor !!
Can you please do a tutorial on this solo?!
Hi Gary, I’ve added it to the list of vids to make! Not the shortest solo to break down! 🙂
Did you use both pedal? how to boost it? and I also want to know your amp settings..
My favorite Solo ! can you describe the preset used to your guitar?
Thanks for your comment. I didn’t use a preset, but the list of gear I used is in the description. Hope that helps!
Великолепно сыграно. Гилмор порадовался бы. Класс
большое спасибо
Bravo Greg superbe vidéo. You used laney? For the song. Merci
Kiki Kik Thanks! I think this was actually recorded with my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. The gain comes from EHX Soulfood and TC MojoMojo pedals stacked together.
@@GregShute merci Greg😉
great job!!!
what scale did you use in this song?
Thank you! This is pretty much all played with the E minor pentatonic scale, there are a couple of additional notes from the E natural minor scale here and there, and also the C# used in the double stops to outline an A major sound. But it’s 90% minor pentatonic position 1 and 2. Hope that helps.
Gilmour's lost son
Haha thanks! I grew up learning to play Gilmour solos (many years ago now!) they’re ingrained in my being!
what strings are those?
Hi Alexis, the strings are Elixir Optiweb 10-46.
How do you make that sound like the radio sound??
Thanks for your comment. The original backing track has the radio effect with the sweeping sound leading into it.. I'm recording into Logic Pro X so I dropped the volume of my guitar to roughly match the backing track and then a slow fade on both. There's no radio effect as such on my guitar at the end there, just a touch of compression. Hope that helps!
best after gilmour
That's very kind! Thank you
what modulation did you use
Hi thanks for you comment. I don’t think I used any modulation effects for this, just reverb from the amp. I ran through an EHX Soul Food into a TC Electronics MojoMojo pedal for the drive tone. Cheers
Buen cover. Pero no es la Black strat de David, y eso le quita la esencia al solo.
