That was the episode where Richie, Ralph and Potsie pretended to be three Tunisian camel jockeys at lake Whitefish. After the animals went silent, Fonzie said "I'd like to see Tarzan do THAT!" Sadly, in most syndicated episodes, that line was truncated for time.

Driving a cab in Madison, Wi and got a call from a downtown hotel. It was graduation day at the University of Wisconsin. The name on the order was Winkler. Didn't think much about it. Yes, it was. His son was graduating form UW and he was going to the ceremony. No limo, no one with him. Well, I have met quite a few famous people and am not the kind to fawn over them. Just another ride. But I was pleasantly impressed. No air of importance, genuine person. He said, today I am not Fonz, I am just another proud father enjoying his sons success. It was a short ride left me wishing it was a longer one. He was the real deal, actor or not, you can't fake that.

    • @Sal.Manila
      @Sal.Manila Рік тому +7

What a great story. You painted the picture well. I’ve been a limo driver in Las Vegas for 18+ years now, and can agree with much of what you had said; how celebrities usually turn out to be just another ride. Athletes, movie stars, musicians-you name it, and many have probably been within my reaching distance. For me, Olivia Newton John was my all time favorite standout. I drove her many times from her temporary LV home, and to The Flamingo Hotel (and back.) One thing you didn’t mention about Winkler was the tip. Do you recall if he was “any good?” ONJ was always $20-$40. Again, awesome Fonz story!👌

Here in Italy, this TV show was broadcast a few years later when I was only a child.
It has great success and popularity and It has re-aired over the years several times.
They were all very successful characters and it showed us what was a typical average American family of the time.
"The Fonz" in Italy was named as "Fonzie" and the Italian roots of the surname Fonzarelli gave us a sort of connection with this character.
All of them were absolutely amazing but my favorite was "Potzie". In my little girl's eyes he was handsome and charming,an attractive young man with, furthermore, such a beautiful and warm voice.
And his clumsiness made him so sweet and "cuddly"... 😄❤️
In my opinion this was undoubtedly one of the best TV shows ever to air.👍 🔝

The Fonz was a good character. He had a respectable job, mending cars as well as bikes, as a Mechanic. He was full of good advice, and there for girls or other people being bullied. The Scene That Took Happy Days off the Air for Good? This title is an example of click-baiting. Happy Days ended, it wasn't taken off the air. Right? Isn't even that what this video says? It brings up that they broke the 4th wall, which was controversial-ish, but it didn't get the show taken off the air. Pretending there was a scene that caused an uproar just to get people to watch your video? That doesn't sound very factual. Why should I subscribe to that? It takes the word "Facts" in your channel name and dirties it. Weak... good luck with that.

Fonzie is the obvious answer. What young boy growing up didn't want to be, the coolest most popular toughest and a ladies man? Seriously Fonzie got more tush than a toilet seat.

Actually the person who posted this is completely incorrect. This episode was supposed to be the finale...... but during the seat last season of Happy Days, the Winter Olympics postponed the Airing of several episodes. So while this did are on May 8th 1984...... a few weeks later several episodes that were never shown aired over the summer into July. The actual last new episode that aired was Winchester discovered that he is diabetic.

Nancy Walker's name on the show was "Blansky". There was a stretch of timeline logic because she was in current day 1970s but appeared on Laverne and Shirley as an old friend of Laverne! The show also had Scott Baio and Eddie Mekka on it as completely different characters in the 70s storyline.

Not the half of it. Ms. Nancy Walker found lasting fame as "Ida Morgenstern" on the Seventies Show "Rhoda." "Ida's" TV husband was "Martin Morgenstern" played by the immensely talented Character Actor the late great Harold Gould. The very same Harold Gould who played the original "Howard Cunningham" in the 1971 "Love, American Style" Series Pilot called "Love And The Happy Days!"😂😉💃💄📿👠👠👔👞👞📺B.W.

I watched the last episode "Passages" when it originally aired in 1984. I was 15 years old and had been watching Happy Days in daily syndicated reruns as well as the new weekly episodes.
Though through the years as the series progressed, I was irritated how the show was changing and evolving. But I still kept watching.
But the last episode (Passages), the way they ended it with Howard's toast, breaking the third wall, and then the flashback clips with the song "Memories" made up for the bad episodes, in my opinion.
When they cut to Joanie and Chachi cutting the cake and the whole scene freeze framed and then faded to black, I sadly thought to myself, "That's it. No more Happy Days." And as the end credits rolled, I knew right then and there that I was going to miss Happy Days tremendously. Sure enough, 38 years later, I still do.

As a young gay boy growing up in the 80s, there was no one to look at and think Wow, but then came Scott Baio and I was in love, he was my wet dream fantasy in his tight jeans and I was hooked on Happy Days just because of him, well thankfully we all grow out of our fantasies and with him supporting Trump I would not give them both the time of day, how can something so beautiful become so cold?
