00:01 : ROM Marine Corpse nearby North Korea (There are some troops which have different missions in ROKMC. They seems protecting Seoul.)
1st Division is Landing Division
2nd Division is Protecting Seoul
6th Brigade is protecting Island nearby North Korea.
00:17 ROKMC is moving to the shore with dated 1 1/4 and 2 1/2t trucks. They are all licensed model.
00:33 These tanks are M48 MBT but dated model so ROKMC use this only for anti-ship gun. They don't use M48 for MBT.
01:07 SPIKE NLOS Anti-Tank Missile Long Range Models, just to kill North Korean Hovercraft.
01:15 K9 howitzer inside.
01:51 M48 Tanks only for protecting shore. 90mm models are all gone, only 105mm models are using in field for infantry backup.
02:05 KM-167A3 Vulcan. Anti-craft but also good to enemy infantry
02:33 90mm Gun (too dated model, heavy and weak)
04:28 Patriot Missile, came from Germany, Type2. It was just upgraded to Type 3 (PAC-3 MSE ETC) about 2020
05:35 Chul-Mae KM-SAM. Anti-Aircraft intercepter made in korea. This model were made with russian s-300 technology.
06:13 Hyun-Moo Short Range Ballistic Missile. (Exact ranges depends on each model. Just average is 500km)
06:35 USKF (US FORCE KOREA) HIMARS. Same as MLRS.
07:37 Korean Main Tanks, MBT, K1. This is 3Generation tanks but 105mm gun.
07:48 USFK M1 Abrams.
Korean Army have a lot of unique things. Because of North Korea, Korean Army is "Cold War Style". So there are a lot of dated weapons.
The reason why korean army use lots of dated weapons are "Efficiency." A huge amount of ammo exist, so we can't throw them all. For example, in Korea, about 3.4millions of 105mm howitzer shells (only 105mm howitzer shell. Not include 155mm, or 105mm gun). It is too waste if we just throw away, isnt it?
Seeing the tracer bullets ricocheting off the ground is so cool!
This is in preparation for the landing of a small high-speed vessel. Korea has a strong air force and navy too, so it is virtually impossible for the enemy to approach our shores
...except drones. For now.
After all, military exercises are amazing!

It was good to hear those M60 tanks rolling...
And that 20mm Anti Aircraft Gatling gun in a fixed position was AWESOME..
why they do not use K1 tanks I wonder....
@@digiver most of their main battle tanks (k1, k1a2, k2) are in the army. The M60s are for the marines. The big army gains much more power than the small marines, so that's why.
@@mteagleworld Thanks for the update. Marines should also get something more formidable than M60 I would think...
That is M48(M48A 3k or M48A 5k)
@@digiver Those M48s in vids are all ROK marines and usually marines get old weapons, thats why. And they are using K1 too
Thanks for uploading a video about Korea And people ask why the marine corps are still using the M48 Patton tank, because the marine corps is a part of the Navy, so the budget was allocated to the Navy first, so it had to be used. And through 2017 and 2022, the M48 patton tank was completely replaced with the K1E1 (baby abrams) shown in the video.
+ Originally, the K2 tank was intended to be replaced, but the K2 tank was not suitable for amphibious assault due to the length of the barrel and the weight of the body, so the K1E1 with a relatively short barrel and light weight was selected.
++I am still learning English, so please forgive me for using a translator
Haha, baby Abrams, thanks the information was good
Oh
It's a small island close to North Korea, and the soldiers it trains are South Korean marines.
They don't need armaments like 3rd gen tanks to defend the coast of a small island.
The South Korean Marines defending the island used the old tank as a stationary coastal artillery concept and are recently being replaced by newer guided weapons that are more powerful and accurate.
@@sunny-wn5do Many people say marine corps don't need a good weapon. But this is completely wrong. Unlike in the old days, they have to fight the enemy's newest tanks, ships, aircraft, and infantry, because they don't have much budget allocated to marine corps, which bring guns from old tanks to the coast of Korea, make coastal guns, and use old tanks. The reason why this is happening is that the government has not invested so much in defense spending and has never even given marine corps a priority budget.

Man the way they’re shooting guess I need to start buying ammo in Korea finally a range day
wow !! Good drill, respect !
Perhaps some dated equipment, but their troops looked trained, disciplined, and motivated. That alone will take you a long way.
Korea has some of the most advanced equipment out there. Its the 5th most powerful military in the world. The reason youre seeing the old Pattons is because they are spares that can be used as moving coastal defense cannons as well as additional armor. Korea field around 3000 modern tanks. Around 2000 of the K1 Tank with various variants and around 1000 K2 Black Panther tanks with more on order to fully replace older tanks and put the older tanks on reserve. Korea has around 5000 reserve armour and the ones used here are those one in order to maintain their battle readiness as reserve armor. Also, Korea fields the most advanced missile defense system in Asia with an assortment of tactical ballistic and cruise missiles. Korea also has one of the most powerful airforces and navies out there. Not to mention around 15,000 artillery units which are advanced. Korea's military equipment is 90% indigenously made and its a good thing. Couple this with a highly trained regular army of around 700,000 and highly trained reserve forces around 3 million, Korea's reputation as the 5th most powerful military in the world is well deserved.
They used old tanks, but they have K1 and K2 tanks.
The chance of an enemy attacking the shore with a powerful MBT is very low, so I think the Patton, Grandpa's tank, will be enough to defend the shoreline. Think of this Patton tank as a movable bunker. Don't worry, thousands of third-generation and newer-generation 3.5 tanks stand behind them.

Even though many of the images were of the same events just shown from multiple angles it is still an impressive amount of firepower. The variety of weapon systems at their disposal plus the American assets backing them up will make any attempt at coastal hostilities by N. Korea a costly exercise.

Crazy thing is that their military isn't a volunteer service like the US. All S. Korean people must serve in the military; which means the adult population consists of only active military or veterans.

I like how they just hand out rifles without worrying about who zeroed them.
Nice observation! My cousin served in the Marine Corps during his mandatory service of 2 years. He took me to a shooting range and he immediately zeroed in a rifle just handed to him. ROK soldiers are trained to know the ins and outs of the service rifle, no matter who owns it. I hope to learn this too when I take my mandatory service.
it's own pre-zeroed rifle one takes out. For the safety of gun accidents, Koreans are much precautious.
Soldiers and guns are stored and lined in order so these guns could be handed out in short call
