I just bought this bike new and i love it! Grew up riding the WR200s in the 90s and i love the WR range. Tho the build quality is not the same as the Japanese made bikes but those r just tiny little stuff. Overall, the bike rides AWESOME! ❤❤❤ GREAT VIDEO!

If I gave a wheel guy my 21/18 dual sport spoke wheels and compatible 17x 3.5 and 17x4.25 36 hole aluminum wheels, what you think would be a fair but high side cost to have both rims mounted matching the offset/etc of source wheels? No bargains in the motorcycle biz! I am cabable of doing it with enough youtubes to look. Cost Benefit?

Nakaupo na po ako sa 2020 wr155r (blue) noon, kahit 5'8" ako d pa rin po flat footed (non motard).
Just sharing lang po, this year lang po ako nagkaroon license (a- motor). Current bike ko po 2014 suzuki thunder 125.
Suzuki Thunder 125 is a very reliable unit. keep it as long as you can. One of my favorite bikes that I’ve owned.

The WR155R is also one of the best options for a 150cc dual sport in my country, with decent power (i heard some people said that it can even be on par with the Kawasaki KLX250 with the right modifications), parts being very easy to find, most are shared with the R15, MT-15, Exciter/Sniper 155,...
I did at some point consider the WR155R for a secondary bike, 'cause i always wanted a dual sport. But i'm only 5'5 so it's kinda problematic for me, even with supermoto conversion (I tried both the stock config and the supermoto, i can barely put my toes on the ground, it's even worse on the stock config😢)
A lowering link might be the solution for you but i think it would affect the handling in a negative way.
Major concern lang po about sa speedometer nya at sprocket compatibility. Ano kaya ang saktong sizing ng rear sprocket at anong brands pwede mapilian para ma tama ang speedometer reading, napakabihira kasi ng ibang parts ng wr155 sa shopee at lazada.
Would this look great on a flat seat just like any other caliber dirtbikes? if so... any recommendation for seat height, style, how flat a flat seat should go, and is it ideal to change it to a flat dirtbike seat? thanks

The engine specs is better compared to crf150, but it would be better if they make it inverted forks

Is there a need to offset the rear wheel so it would not rub the chain or is dead center fine?
Yes there is. The rim should line up just below the brake rotor

I have not experienced the XTZ125 myself but judging by its overall configuration, i think its going to be an anemic experience.
Given your situation i would recommend a slightly used unit. Maybe a WR or CRF150L.

Depends on the tire. Some have taller sidewalls and that greatly affects the seat height.

hi sir, new follower here. just wanna ask, in your opinion. which is the best local bike available now in the market to set up a super moto build in terms of power and handling. im thinkin, wr155 for 150cc and crf250l for 250cc class. do you agree??

Both are great bikes for supermoto and have a big aftermarket following. The Honda having a displacement advantage, might serve you better as is. But if you like to experiment, the wr155 is a tuning powerhouse.

Building the wheels cost around Php15k (270 USD). That includes tires, rims and spokes. The stock hub was used for this build. 🙂

Stock sprocket is ok. But if gusto mo medyo hi speed bili ka lang ng engine sprocket na +2 or +3

Most of the time yes. It really depends on who installed also. I suggest you find yourself a good mechanic who can do the job for you.

@@kevinfrankham2219 personally i haven't tried any big bore kits. But for the WR155, a Yamaha tuner friend of mine mentioned you can go as big as 198cc without any issues. Anything over than that you need to change the conrod, flywheel and timing chain replaced to.

@kevinfrankham2219 Thailand is the motorcycle tuning Mecca of South East Asia and i'm pretty sure there are lot of tuners for the Yamaha Sniper/Exciter 155 over there. Btw, the Sniper, R15, MT15 share the same engine as the WR155.

Seat is ok. Typical for dual sport. Good for short trips but could use more padding for longer trips.

Depende....i suggest you try one for yourself. If kaya ra nimo ang height then good. Prioritize imong comfort.

None that i have encountered so far. But a tuner friend of mine mentioned that the 155r motor requires more attention to keep it in top shape.
