Totally agree as a person who struggles with perfectionism. I am trying to unlearn this mindset of mine. Also letting go is harder than starting that's my opinion from experience because sometimes weare in situations not because we love it but because we don't wanna be proved wrong. Like it's a slap to ego. It gets better first step is always acknowledgement. n
Oh yeah I agree with the ego part, it happens to me too, but awareness of it definitely helps with overcoming that need to be right. And being wrong sometimes teaches us more than being right. Thanks for sharing x
it was hard to know what to comment on this one, because i share the same struggle. we are very often defined by what we are willing to struggle for and i truly believe that we all should always chase perfection, not thinking that it's achievable, but because that's the only noble path to follow to be better and get better. the problem seems to be on how to be in peace with the constant burden of wanting more of ourselves about something we cherish. i try to keep in mind that the resistance weights the same as our passion and problems are not errors, but features. like alfred said "we fall to learn how to pick ourselves up". (for the nerds in the comments, i known that it was a saying from thomas, but alfred said it better 😁) just remember that you're not the thoughts in your head, you're the one who listens and keep up the good work. you are doing great.
I really appreciate it! I guess for me, having perfection as the only goal from the beginning 'terrifies' me from taking the first steps, but I agree that we should always strive for improvement and betterment, cos sticking with what we are familiar with or good at means stagnation and rejecting the idea of personal growth. Like you said, the problem is indeed how to find the balance between wanting more for ourselves without being overly self-critical, which is not an easy thing to do. But through conscious awareness and effort, we get to come closer and closer to that point of balance. Thanks again for the thoughtful comment and encouragement, Dante! Have a great day/evening:)
I’m so grateful for finding your channel. Your videos are extremely helpful. I’m finally being able to comprehend why I tend to procrastinate so much. Never stop making these videos, you make me feel accompanied through the problems of my life. This has given me motivation to rectify my inconsistent habits and has given me hope that everything will turn out to be okay! ❤️
