When playing a round by myself, I often find myself spending more time collecting balls from adjacent fields and woods than I do actually playing golf... there is something strangely therapeutic about it!
You were absolutely right. After watching your video I went on Amazon and ordered one of those flashlights. It arrived this evening around dark, I live on a golf course and figured, what the heck. I’m a member at this particular country club so I know where the honey pots are. I went out there with my new flashlight and within 45 minutes I found over 50 golf balls and most of them looked brand new and most were Titleist. It’s easy and fun, it’s like hunting for glowing Easter eggs😆I could well afford to buy my own golf balls but it’s fun and easy. Thanks for the tip👍
Love how grown men get so excited about finding golf balls, the same happens to every amateur golfer. We lose that many, out for nowt. Fun video boys, made me giggle. Batteries and beers required 😂😂😂 keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻
Started playing March this year, I'm happy when the balls I've found replace the balls I've lost. Starting to lose less balls now though. But not yet played around with just the one ball.
@@Kpizzle1289 I've played for years and don't think I've gone a single round without losing a ball (don't count short par 3 courses) lol. If you don't lose a ball, you don't get the opportunity to find everyone else's lost balls 🤣

When I first started golfing my two boys always came along and I would show them where to look. Goofs fun in more ways then one. Keep up the great channel Liam from ct. USA.
I ordered a UV flashlight two days ago from Amazon, it came today and I went out to our local public golf course just after dark tonight ... I had four holes mapped out where I thought there would be a good chance of finding balls, but after less than an hour and just one of the four holes, my bag was so heavy I quit! 164 golf balls! The UV flashlight is amazing and it works just as you have presented it in your video
Watching on the telly. Mrs just said "are you actually watching Liam look for golf balls?". At first I was proud to say "yes, yes I am". A few moments later, I'm prouder to say she's been paying attention and inadvertently watches enough with me to know your name 😂😂😂
Howdy lads. This was the first golf mates video I ever watched and I cannot thank you enough! I bought the UV flashlight and in 1 1/2 hrs found 167 perfect condition balls, 37 throwaways that I gave to my buddy as practice balls and 22 mint condition Pro V's. 2 of my golf mates have since borrowed my flashlights to go out themselves and have gotten a years worth of balls themselves. The best bit though was my wife seeing how happy I was with the result and coming out with me and finding 60 odd perfect balls herself! Cannot wait for golf to start again next week as I'll be out on the Saturday scooping up all the wayward shots with the Mrs. and some Bailey's and hot chocolate. Keep up the great work fellas!!!
Great tip thanks! I've had a good season with 1,243 balls found. 40% top brand urethane so I won't have to purchase any for awhile. Best days catch was 245! My wife thinks I'm nuts but my son loves that he can lose balls without a worry.
Sergeant Slice here. I recently found "Slicers' Cove" in my new favorite local course. While waiting for the party ahead of us to advance, I was able to pick up about 2 dozen of balls...still probably about another 3 or 4 dozen that I didn't have time to pick up. Don't think I'll ever have to worry about running out of balls!
The most practical golf tip on the internet today! Also, I would recommend some kind of UV protective glasses if you're going to make this a habit. Not sure at what strength UV light you need to consider UV blockers at but better safe than blind
I bought a UV flashlight after watching this. I took my 11 year old grandson to look for balls. Within 2 minutes of turning on the light he found 6 balls hidden in the grass, 30 ball’s total within 20 minutes of turning on the light. IT WORKS GREAT!!
My son used to sell these back to the golfers, 50 cents a piece or 3 for a dollar...unless pro V 1, those were 1 dollar each...made a few hundred dollars doing that. The funnest part was harvesting the golf balls, its so exciting, a real simple pleasure.

I used to go 'golf ball hunting' with my dad in the fall time after the courses had closed up north some 30 years ago. Was a fun time and we'd do it during the daytime too. Being in Florida might be a good idea to try a night time hunt with the light.. be interested to see the results where i live. There are 5 course w/ in 10min of here. Thanks for the idea.

Went out to my local course for 3 nights about an 1 hour each time and collected over 300 balls🤣 gave a lot away but there were a lot of good balls even found some of my own. Keep searching lads. Great video.
I've been doing this for over 2 years now, I sell the balls on marketplace, and the tp5s prov1 on ebay, I've made just under £700. Probably spent £40 in fuel but still worth it, brought new irons, bag and trolley with my funds. Happy days 👍
Been there with the UV light, back in the day in Beachcomber in Benidorm when I was a young 17 year old whippersnapper on a lads holiday. Nice shower before, dried off with a fresh white towel. Got into the club and under the UV light you could see all of the fluff off the towel in my hair. Went home alone that night 😂
After watching this I thought why not give it a go. Day 5 of lock down 2 so no golf has been played but still found over 40 balls (20 of which are perfecrly playable).. Great tip Liam
I like finding lost golf balls, especially Pro V-1's, as much as making a birdie on a par 5. This video made me smile. Oh, my record is finding 32 balls during a round on a wet winter Monday where the rough was tall.
Well boys, I went out for 30 minutes last night with my new UV torch and got 25 balls. Can't wait to get out again soon and stock up. Thanks Golf Mates!
Since I have to ride in a buggy...and the cart paths are close to the trees, I drive slowly, and sometimes on Monday morning I can find 10 to 12 golf balls just while playing 9 holes. Some are cheap golf balls, but after the weekend, I find premium golf balls. Two weeks ago I found 7 Titleist Pro V1's on the first two holes...and I think they were all lost by the same golfer, as they were all marked the same way!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
My problem would be that at most Southern California courses I’d have to jump a fence to get in and I’m well past my fence jumping days 😩 I’ll stick to the go out early method, thanks guys!

I bought one of these after watching your vid Liam. Found over 500 balls in 3 sessions. Saved me a fortune! Only down side is when you nearly break your neck and it's a bloody To Flite 😂
I’ve been doing this for years now and don’t even play golf. I walk the dog with a UV torch once a month around my local course. Genuinely fill my rucksack every time, I guess these golfers need more practice. I have a list of local golfers that always buy x50 for £10 and this helped me through covid reduced pay without question, it so easy.
I have to laugh at you guys complaining about the quality of the balls you are finding yet its you who are looking for free golf balls. Whose cheap now? Great video Liam
Did this last night. Went to The Wisley near time me (reckoned there would be good balls there due to course) found a Titleist pro v 1 - no 26 with JT printed on it, yes the ex England captain is a member there. Half hour found 7 pro vs, 5 calloways, 2 titleist s and a few others 👍
This was the greatest video of all time. I live right by a golf course so I will have my own easter egg hunt. Enjoyed iy mates. You two are hilarious. I would love to play golf with you guys.
I really hate all this Americanised 'coming up' nonsense and it's everywhere on youtube now. Please just show the videos and let the viewer see everything fresh in it.
I live two blocks from a course. It’s my fav wintertime pastime. Put some music on and have a ball. Or a few thousand. In one winter season I accumulated enough to fill 3 55 gallon drums, 21 5 gallon buckets and many many 30 gallon plastic totes full of good useable balls. It’s sooooo much fun. Like an adult treasure hunt!
Another option is to do what I did last year---buy a place halfway down the 18th fairway. I find at least a dozen balls a week in my backyard. I even find a few on my livingroom floor after they smash through the windows. Amazing how badly some golfers hit the ball off the tee.
Hi Liam and Mr Barlow, went to my local course, and found 107 golf balls in just 2 hours. Great work guys...but a dog walker thought I was mad.i had the last laugh when I showed him
Went to my local course on Saturday night. Found 54 balls in just over an hour. Cheers Liam 😄😄. It was a bit eerie been on the golf course on my own though 🤣🤣
There's an old guy at our course that walks it 3-4 times a day in the trees looking for balls. He's got an old Cadillac with a trunk absolutely full of balls that he sells to everyone. I was astonished the first time I saw it. All of them sorted by brand and the premium ones by brand and type.
Brilliant Liam and Mr B. Amazing how they light up. My dad goes out a few nites a week to collect balls. So I usually have a look around and get the best for myself. Then sell some to my mates and work colleagues.
You did well considering I was there the night before with my dog. Bagfulls! Dog is too busy now, sniffing out coronavirus cases at the airport. Great video!
I've been doing this for years. I walk my dog around the local course and at night, to make it interesting I take my torch and a bag. I must have 3/4 thousand, yes thousand balls in my garage. One complete corner is full of bags of balls. I give them to my play mates, use the duff ones on the driving range and play with all the PRO V1's. I havnt bought a ball in years. Its good fun too and gives you an extra reason to get outside in the winter. Good stuff gents!
Never ever thought Id spend time watching a vlog of two guys looking for golf balls at night... ..but I did. If you don't use the balls yourself you could always:- - give them to the pro to use when they are giving lessons - give them to juniors who maybe cant afford them Cheers from #500
I got a light like this 2 years ago, went a round that same evening (late summer with high roughs) and found 80 balls on the first 4 holes.. I ended up with over 300 balls by the end of the week, and since then haven't had the need to use the light anymore. I still have some of the balls now (but I play with better balls nowadays, as they're more consistent once my hcp got a bit better).
As it happens, I took my kids out last night to see what we could find and came home with nearly 70 balls. About 30 of them are spot on for a bit of winter golf and the rest will be going back to the club for the driving range, so everyone wins!
Liam-Great video w Mr Barlow!! I know the 3 or 4 holes at my usual course where they collect also. I play a course with LOTS of high grass which gobbles golf balls. After the first frosts I go out and fill the carry bag. I give away several grocery bags of balls a year to friends and have several kitty litter containers for me. I won't have to buy any balls for a LONG time but may get myself a UV light for fun! Brian
Here in New Brunswick, the season is just about over officially but after a whole season, we too have found some great finds. Lots of varieties of Taylormades including TP5. Thanks for a very entertaining video. Always enjoy GolfMates
I've got a UV light on my drone, I use it to identify the course hotspots before I head out, looking at the data I should be breaking into the proshop .
Can’t believe how entertaining this vid is ! Two full grown men grappling about in the undergrowth with night vision torches looking for treasure... hilarious 😂
When playing a round by myself, I often find myself spending more time collecting balls from adjacent fields and woods than I do actually playing golf... there is something strangely therapeutic about it!
Found 30 🏐balls Saturday in an old bramble patch that the greens keeper knocked down for spring clean up...lol

Great idea, the way they show up under UV light is spot on. Keep up the great content mate.
Absolutely unreal
@@GolfMates Will have to get myself a UV torch and see what I can find
Omp send something olio I need some practice balls lol
Nice one dude, 35 balls this evening, about half of them are quite decent balls!!!
Love it, got to get one. I've never come off a golf course with more balls than I started with...
Never ever thought Id spend time watching a vlog of two guys looking for golf balls at night...
..but I did. If you don't use the balls yourself you could always:-
- give them to the pro to use when they are giving lessons
- give them to juniors who maybe cant afford them
Cheers from #500
Bought a light last week and we have found nearly 300 balls in 3 visits to local golf courses 😀😀😀
I ordered this torch yesterday and it arrived today. I’ve just found 14 balls in an hour. Interestingly it’s sold out on Amazon so everyone is at it.
About 30 of them are spot on for a bit of winter golf and the rest will be going back to the club for the driving range, so everyone wins!
daughter bought me one for xmas 3 years ago but never used it.. think i'll give it a go after lockdown
Absolutely a must
Liam-Great video w Mr Barlow!! Brian
I done this last year and in 1 hour had 75 balls. It's great craic
Here in New Brunswick, the season is just about over officially but after a whole season, we too have found some great finds. Lots of varieties of Taylormades including TP5. Thanks for a very entertaining video. Always enjoy GolfMates

You boys!!
Funnily enough I’ve recently bought some gold ball finding glasses
I’ll do you a video when they arrive
I've got a UV light on my drone, I use it to identify the course hotspots before I head out, looking at the data I should be breaking into the proshop .
Amazon are gonna love you guys! UV Torches will never have been so popular!
I hope so lol!
@@GolfMates y’all need an affiliate account for Amazon.
