"And your father is no fool" well.........
Dang, I love the subtle yet powerful background music...
It echoes throughout the season (prominently in episode 6) but didn't appear on the soundtrack. Shame.
RHAENYS IS BEAUTIFUL. WHAT A DRAGON.
Rhaenys was right and she told this to her niece by firsthand experience, Rhaenys accepted that Westeros didnt want a female ruling, yes it was a phalocentric and shitty way of thinking but that was the order of things as she said, Viserys wasnt going to tell her this because he adored her , even if she told her he wasnt a fool
This is the moment I hated Rheynera because here was Rheynes who by all rights had the birth right and claim to the throne as much as she did and yet she is ignorant to how they crowned a man in his place in clear violation of the line of succession.
She should have listened.
Viserys destroyed the Targaryen’s. His weakness and inability to follow through with the status quo doomed his family for generations.
Rhaenys was being pragmatic, yes. She was aware of the problems in Westeros. She chose not to fight it and that’s okay, but given what she ended up doing, it was clear that she didn’t really believe in what she was saying. Rather, she was being “WOKE” and that means aware of how things currently are. She clearly didn’t like it and when there was an opportunity to fight it, she took it.
Exactly, this is a great way to look at it. Rhaenys is the oldest, wisest Targaryen of her generation. I see her as the new Maester Aemon not so much Lady Olenna or Catelyn Stark. They were more ambitious than her. Rhaenys in the show at least is upset she was passed over for the Throne and not given a chance to rule but she seems to be okay with not having been given it. Maybe because she realizes what a huge burden it is. She didn't press her claim or her children's claims because she saw she didn't have the support she needed. Her actions after this are motivated by a strong sense of duty and honor. As well as love for her family. Rhaenys didn't want a Civil War to break out over her claim but ultimately chose to support Rhaenyra because she believed she'd be the better ruler and she supports her cousin Viserys' wishes. Very similar to Maester Aemon who went to the Night's Watch for the same reasons. I only wish The Queen Who Never Was would have mentored The Realm's Delight more. Like Aemon did with Jon Snow. Rhaenyra needs her and fails to see this.
Damn, I really like Rhaenys. Though I expect her to be the first major character to die in S2.
Yeah, I think we’re pretty much at that point in the story. I really enjoyed her character arc so far, but what do I know? I’m just a misogynist for not liking She-Skulk and Rings of Boredom. 😉
@@BrettSmashy NO One likes She Hulk or Rings of power
Based Brett.
If the Old king gave Rhaenys as the wife of Viserys there will be no great council, no civil war no problems at all.
Rhenys was already married with children and visreys was married with a child on the way.
The issue arose since all of Jahareys children either died or were ineligible for the throne so it came down to which of the grand children should rule.
He never expected it to be a problem so he did not make them marry.
Viserys seems like a damn fool to me. If he wanted to clear an uncontested path for his daughter to inherit the throne. Then he should’ve never remarried and had more kids. He must’ve known how this would end after he died if he had a male heir. I seriously can’t understand what he was thinking.
For a royal bloodline putting all your stock in a solitary heir especially back in the olden days was never an option. Visery's entire line would then depend on the survival of Rhaneyra and having seen what the chances of mortality were especially during childbirth for both mother and child. It only made sense to expand the bloodline. A hard but necessary choice.
Not having more children would've been insane
What he should've done was coax out major lords who would contest his decision (an obvious one being the Lannisters), expose them, and undermine them one by one while he still had strength
But that just wasn't his way
A lot of people argue this, but honestly he had to remarry. If Rhaenyra died, his entire line dies. Then the throne would have to pass to Laenor, who was gay, or Daemon. This would have likely led to civil war depending on circumstances
“Your father is no fool.”
Rhaenys, I hate to interrupt but he is. Only a fool would remarry if he intended his daughter to remain uncontested. Only a fool wouldn’t name his son heir to avoid a disastrous war.
If only she could knock some sense into viserys either dont marry again, or name his son heir than this civil war wpuld be avoided.
He somehow thought people would literally just overlook the bastard children and the fact he a firstborn son dumbest king on god 🤣😭🤦♂️
I wish Rhaenys would've been my advisor and I'm a man
Low blow that glance of Dany...i sthil did not get over her death , i wish she could make justice tô Rhaenyra' s claim, but instead.....
If the Conciliator had accepted the offer of the High Septon of the time to relieve Archmaester Vaegon of his vows, and Vaegon had been willing, things would have been very different.
The bottom line is Vaegon would've never desired the throne and if he did he would've been a terrible king plus he was so unlikeable someone would've poisoned him sooner or later.
Yes, Rhaenyra needed some harsh words not to be so damn arrogant.
Rhaenys should have marry ASAP to have an adult male son by the time Viserys died.
That would create huge problems for the Greens. Now they would have to deal with the son of the actual heir to the throne.
The inserted commentary is too fast. Every word should get at least a 1/2 second.
Please, stop with the pop ups. We all have eyes, ears and a brain. We dont need you to point out truth bombs or any other comments on stuff.
Woke? Maybe but.... good dialogue and acting!
Definitely good dialogue!
not that good
@@captainpinky8307 By far better than any other show out right, especially fantasy. Objectively
@@CleverChinaI can name several shows that were better at the time.
They really screwed up on the casting for the women in this GOT.
