  • One of my favorite peppers to grow and eat! This is a quick overview of my 7 month old Purple UFO chili pepper plant. Here is an affiliate link to the grow bags I have used the past 2 years:

Nice video! I grew Purple UFO this year, a very beautiful chili that's for sure :) though a bit slow to ripe (might be due to the weather, I live in Denmark).

Mine took forever to turn red as well! Didn’t mind though because they’re pretty throughout the wait. But yeah one of my favorite chilis for sure taste and appearance wise

Do you have any of those extra hot pepper plants for sale?

I don’t have any live plants for sale. Where are you located? Sometimes in the spring I have extra plants to give away if I got good germination.

How many weeks before last frost should I start these indoors? It’s currently 11 weeks out and I’m getting anxious lol

I feel you! It all depends on how much room you have and your indoor setup. I don’t have a ton of room or great light indoors for large plants, so I normally start them about 8 weeks out. Then they’ll be small seedlings when it’s time to go outside.

So do you pick them while they’re dark purple or wait until they’re red ?

I’ve done both! I honestly can’t tell much of a difference either way. The red ones might be slightly hotter, but great flavor with both. I will say that after they do go red they’ll get soft soon after, so if you wait for them to turn red you have to be on top of it with harvesting them.

I don’t sell them personally, but several online retailers do. They should run you about $3-$5 for a pack
