A memorable Racing Season - Wrap up 2023 - Team Malizia

- After an intense 2023 season, it's time to say goodbye to this year full of challenges.
We've learned so much in the past 12 months and have overcome many obstacles. It all began in January with The Ocean Race, a 6-month journey around the world. Then came the summer refit before competing in the Défi Azimut, The Transat Jacques Vabre, and finally the first solo race, Le Retour à La Base.
This year, Malizia - Seaexplorer sailed 47,718 nm over 121 days, 20 hours, 28 minutes, and 56 seconds in 2023. That's 88,374 kilometers... The Equator is 40,074 km 🌎🌎 (not even counting deliveries and training).
Boris said, "The boat will go in for a winter refit, and we will relaunch her with a new set of foils to start the 2024 season in April with the Transat CIC and the New York-Vendée transatlantic solo races. And then, in November, I’ll be ready for my second Vendée Globe. 2023 was a great year for our team, and we are all curious to see what 2024 has in store for us!”

Boris, you are leading an outstanding and brilliant team with an overwhelming teamspirit! Always fair, polite, motivated and motivating! You did not only push Malizia Explorer but you also pushed two great young sailors, Rosie and Will, into the first row of offshore sailors. They threw their hearts into the race and conquered thousands of addicted hearts! Thus they totally returned your confidence! All of you are just inspiring and heart-warming!
To everyone in Team Malizia, still counting Rosie and Antoine to be part of it, a very happy Christmas and a wonderful new year full of further success!
I can hardly expect the next Vendée to start! This is a most welcome virus, so much healthier than all the others... 😉

Malizian's are the great team. I have been following Herman since the last, 9th edition of the Vendee Globe, also competing as a VR sailor. I started in the Volvo Ocean Race in 2014, spent a lot of time infront of computers, got to know (virtualy) oceans and seas, straits and channels, remote islands, enjoyed myself and learned a lot. Many more experienced teams and skippers, during last decade have sailed in the Volvo Ocean races, but none like Malizian's with Herman. Young crew, with not a lot of experience, but with maximum cooperation and mutual respect, for me Malizian's are the best. Congratulations, Love & Best wishes in the year 2024.

I think she was in the Transat Jacque Vabre as well with Fortinet-Best Western..
