Humm...the Mayor had much stronger words a few weeks ago, he seems very nervous and less critical of how Norfolk Southern Railroad and the EPA and the Governor has handled this whole nightmare. What about all the dead wild life and people's animals that have died or are suffering? They sure do pat themselves on the back a lot.
One thing that this made perfectly clear is that there is no plan or preparation, or trained personnel, ready to go into a community to provide immediate relief to the residents. Lots of people are ready to make political statements and campaign appearances, but there is no large scale chemical spill emergency response team trained and ready to respond to something like this. The spill occurred 3 weeks ago, and the state and federal politicians are still standing around talking to each other.

Everyone needs to be aware of some facts! A movie productions released in 2022 Called “White noise” the production was done in East Palestine Ohio, it’s airing on Netflix, which is owned by “Vanguard”. Vanguard also with Blackrock. Vanguard also owns “Norfolk southern”. This area of Ohio is or was future site for “Intel Chips”. This area of Ohio/Pennsylvania has deposits of “Cobalt”. The EPA did testings and the plane carrying said test crashed killing 5. This is either a land grab, or this is a prevention for the manufacturing of cobalt and chips. Ask yourself who benefits??? Give you a hint folks. China. And yes you better push for criminal charges or you will never get the transparency.

If what I have heard about the train having a broken axle and driving with that for at least 20 miles is true then Norfolk Southern should be held responsible. They should be in that town working to clean it up and take care of the residents of this town! A confession of responsibility and an apology will go a long way. If the broken axle story is true and NS was aware of it but continued to allow the train to keep going then they should apologize for that and let everyone know that it won't happen again. The train should have stopped immediately upon knowing the axle was broken and NS saying we absolutely screwed up and all drivers will know to stop the train anytime there is a mechanical problem. The timeliness of getting products or goods where they need to go is and should always be secondary to the safety of the companies employees and safety of all the people of every town that train goes through!! Too bad it takes a tragedy like this to remind everyone of the value of life. So far, no lives have been lost but this is almost worse when you don't know the long term effects of this accident. My prayer for this town is that God would grant them wisdom to know what, if anything is going to make people sick in the short and long term and what to do about it. In the meantime, for those who believe in and know God, we need to continue to do what is natural and normal for Christians and that is TRUST. Our God loves His creation and wants the best for us. We just need to trust and ask for his wisdom to know how to fix the problems!

yes......no....no requirement to inform anyone. These exact shipments happen every day in every state in the union. The pesticides to grow food, manufacture your carpets, hardwood floors, clothes, bug spray, etc. etc. etc. etc. all come from toxic chemicals. Its why all of our rivers are a mess.

These huge train transport companies should have emergency response plans for each kind of chemical spill, designed for every kind of terrain and catastrophe...
Already in their computer systems ready to be accessed and altered for more exacting responses at their fingertips nearly immediately during the first moments and accessible for any catastrophic problem that may arise.
Along with knowing which of their response teams need to be activated and which Federal, STATE and local governments they may need to immediately get in touch with and activated.
This is no longer the 1800's where they can hide from these dangerous events any longer.
Full visibility, facts, and warnings, along with reaching out for the proper response teams in any area of the country must start immediately without fail, every time.
These types of catastrophes can easily rival NUCLEAR power plant disasters very quickly and can easily have as long lasting and as detrimental effects over just as large areas.
And these effects can also reach around the world within hours to days.
These companies have been in this business for well over one hundred years.
For these companies to act like these disasters of catastrophic proportions are a surprise is ridiculous.
Or like it's a once in a lifetime event they never expected as a possibility is ridiculous.
For them to not be nationally prepared constantly IS A JOKE AND VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO EVERYONE DIRECTLY INVOLVED AND TO ALL AMERICANS IN GENERAL.
IF THIS IS THEIR BUSINESS, IT'S THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND THE LEAST THAT SHOULD BE EXPECTED OF THEM, IF THEY PLAN TO KEEP DOING BUSINESS ON AMERICAN SOIL, RISING AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVES, LIVELY HOODS, HOMES, AND FUTURES.
THEY SHOULD ALSO HAVE A BILLION DOLLAR OR MORE MINIMUM TRUST AVAILABLE FROM EACH TRAIN TRANSPORT COMPANY AT ALL TIMES. WITH NO EXCEPTIONS READY TO START PAYING FOR ANYTHING NEEDED. And citizen groups from the involved areas must be an important part of knowing and responding to these events at every stage possible from moment one.
This should be a key part of every national train transport company.
Bankruptcy should never be the financial way out for these companies if they are to be in this business with these size and kinds of physical, health and environmental risks while carrying out their everyday business models.
These companies that are having their chemicals transported must also keep these billion dollar trusts for their own responsibilities involved with their chemicals heading in every direction.
After all, these companies that produce, store, and handle these chemicals. Should be the most knowledgeable in every aspect of what kinds of disaster responses would work best in nearly all circumstances.
Much better than train transport companies alone..
There needs to be a multi prong approach to best deal with these events, for best collection, best mitigation and then into the best long term responses continually to be needed.
We need the blame responses, costs and needed actions to come as directly from the parties and companies involved at every level.
OR THESE CHEMICALS SHOULD NOT BE TRANSPORT IN SUCH LARGE QUANTITIES BY ANY COMPANY OR INDIVIDUALS.
AMERICA NEEDS TO START FIXING ALL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE CATASTROPHES AT THEIR CORES BEFORE THEY HAPPEN.
AND WHEN NEEDED THEY MUST BE PROPERLY HANDLED FROM THAT POINT FORWARD AS WELL.
WE ONLY HAVE ONE AMERICA AND ONE WORLD.

The mayor and residents can't do that unless they move to a poison free small town. The tragedy is, they can't " go home " safely for at least 12-15 years without the risk of health issues shortening their lives. This community will never be the same due to corporate greed, incompetence, or worst case scenario nefarious intent.
Norfolk is cash rich and can easily pay for all damages and relocation of every last resident in EP as well as those within the 20 mile radius which some officials have suggested should be evacuated and isolated for a long period. The rail's only concern should be their reputation - again easily remedied with a swift and heavy compensation and then they can go on the offense with federal officials and re-propose what their former CEO did in 2006 which was to be released from the obligation to carry certain classes of hazardous materials. This does not need to be the debacle and spectacle it has become and I am curious how Trump's visit will impact events if at all.

I don’t know this mayor’s political affiliation but he kind of pisses me off. He needs to be up there demanding that they get proper aid immediately! I don’t just mean money I am talking about cleaning crews, food, clothes, testing zones and medical crews

This is going to be long part 2 of "White Noise" smh. This was planned!! We had to switch our water source from the Ohio River to the Guyandotte River which is much much smaller.
