Trash Picked Sony Trinitron KV-24FS100

Another day another CRT on the street! This set has a problem with it's second input jacks probably a capacitor. Not worth fixing imo. We take a look at the self diagnosis and make some service menu tweaks. We also made a small focus adjustment on the flyback.

I have a question, for a 34xbr960. Brought it home. Really dirty. Almost like someone drew with a crayon on the screen. The problem, when it starts but mainly when I shut it off. It looks like lighting going across the screen. Then it stops. It’s not plugged in now. Any suggestions

do you know what the max resolution that is supported with this machine? i assume the max refresh rate is 60hz? i tried finding the manual on google but havent had any luck finding an answer for that specifically

1:35 mine made that sound whenever it turned on. what does that sound mean? just curious.

I got one free on FB marketplace. The KV-24fs100. I’m not impressed with the picture quality. I turned down contrast, sharpness and picture, and the image still looks over processed. There are no visible scan lines on this set, even though it’s 480i. It also has severe bowing at the sides, like a lot of flat screens. I’m gonna get rid of it.

Is there any way to reset the service codes to factory settings?

That I know of no. Sometimes the service manual will have the factory settings in a chart.
