Gohan's reaction to his dad really makes sense in this series. Goku barely cares about him, Gohan lost his dad when he was 4, didn't see him again for another year. Went to Namek, thought his dad died again, didn't see him for another 2 years. Was told the android/ cyborgs would arrive in 3 years, his dad died around one year before they arrived(Future Timeline). Ah, Monty. To this day his death is the single most devastating 'celebrity death' I've ever experienced. If you like fight choreography even a tiny bit, you definitely need to see his entire catalogue of work. It's absolutely breathtakingly unique, and in my opinion it remains completely unmatched even now. I first stumbled across him during his Dead Fantasy and Haloid days in my teens and I can still remember how blown away I was. He started working with RoosterTeeth in Red vs Blue in the later seasons, and it took an already great show into the stratosphere with his animation genius and talent. If you watch RWBY (and I hope that you do) please start with the trailers: Red, White, Black, and Yellow. The Red trailer was made entirely by Monty alone, in his spare time, and it's what he pitched to Burnie (RT CEO) for the show idea he had always wanted to make, and that's how RWBY got greenlit. He passed away in-between the second and third season I believe, and it was completely sudden and out of nowhere. Some routine medical thing, and he suffered a severe allergic reaction and they were unable to save him (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going completely off memory). He was so young, so passionate, so dedicated, and so talented. He wanted to do so much more, and he could have brought so much more joy into the world. It just knocked me out when I learned of it. One of the most amazing and hard-working individuals to have ever existed. Remember to live and love to the fullest, you never know when it'll end.
You know, the thing of 17 becoming a ranger who connects with nature in our timeline kind of fills me with the feels because that's something he probably picked up from 16 :' )
I could have sworn that Dragon Ball Z Karkorot straight up states that that 16 is part of the reason 17 does become a park ranger. I'm pretty sure it's in a post game sub-quest where you play as Future Trunks after he returns to the post Buu timeline, and the quest had him helping 17 stopping a bunch of animal poachers and their combat robots. Him and 17 talk a bit after their fight with the robots, and I think that's where 17 mentions 16 and how much he liked nature, or something like that.
@Druid of Scosglen Common misconception. #17 being a park ranger was a thing quite a while before Super and this special. In a 2014 interview, Akira Toriyama stated that 17 became a park ranger after the Cell Saga. He even revealed #17 and #18’s real names: Lapis an Lazuli respectively.
All the noises being played during the radio section is reference to how some radio stations will use sound boards to 'spice' up the programming, but it's obnoxious and dangerous because sometime they'll use sirens and car horns.
Future Trunks used to be my favorite DBZ character for more than a decade (still kinda is, but has to share the topspot), and the history of Trunks is in my opinion one of the best DB Movies out there. I can not express how much I love and respect Team Fourstar for staying close to the original movie and show the bleakness of the world, that Trunks hat to live in, while also making the whole thing funny. Also, I enjoy your reactions to TFS stuff, looking forward to seeing more of them!
Future Trunks’ whole future makes no sense. Realistically, once the Z fighters got killed, they’d just go to King Kai’s planet to tell him what was up, he’d call the Namekians and have them use their dragon balls to solve the problem. Then you have other options that should have been available, like Baba bringing Goku back to life for a day to curbstomp the androids, Roshi teaching Gohan the Mafuba to trap the androids, and of course, the Hypersonic Time Chamber/Room of Spirit and Time. But of course, because plot, they aren’t allowed to use these resources.
Clearly in the future trunks timeline, Cooler is canon, so the Namekians were busy being conquered by Meta-Cooler and therefore couldn't help Earth with their Dragonballs. At least, that's my headcanon lol
Future Gohan and Trunks using the Time Chamber is a universe I wish I could see, even if its just in some game's what-if. Also, an additional note is that Piccolo could have fused with Kami to destroy the androids. He was tied with main timeline 17 in power after doing so, and the future androids are stated to be weaker.
lets say that somewhere in the back of my head i remember dying of natural causes means no revival, regarding miltiverses, i think its 4, 2 in which 2 goku dies and trunks go back and 1 in wich trunks go back after helping another timeline and dies by cell ambushing him and goes to eat the ones in our familiar tiimeline, tanks to dabura's spit and battle all the kais dies, soo zamasu went to the other saved timeline and wiped goku out leaving only the one our timeline and trunks one with fighters, soo probably babidi either found buu in the timeline that cell left or cause no fighters he didnt l also low population. and zeno wiped alive trunks universe, now there are 3 time lines what was i talking about again?
Kaiserneko is such an amazing editor and voice actor actually crazy how good he is Like i enjoy tfs's work wayyyyyyy more then any other english dub Their skill is actually so good
I still love all the Doctor Who References with Trunks, whether music choices like having the Dalek theme when Frieza was saying "EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE" or having the TARDIS sound effect for Trunks's time machine
One of the things I like this was the Doctor Who references. About the Monty Oum memorial, he was actually supposed to be adult Gohan but before they were going to record, he tragically passed away
Oh, and the "Super World" music in the background when 17 and 18 are getting on the roller coaster is the "Millennial Faire" from the video game "Chrono Trigger", which had the art done by none other than Akira Toriyama. It's a very good game. I can quite happily recommend it. I've beaten it several times, and it never really gets old.
I think of all the old Dragon Ball movies (before the 2000s), the Trunks and Bardock movies are for sure the best ones. They had such a sad and tragic narrative and atmosphere that it was impossible not to get emotional watching them. And certainly their writing as prequels to the Saiyans, Frieza and Androids arcs works very well.
One thing very few people notice but I remember after watching the 'making of' videos is that in the flashback scene of Goku's death, Yamcha's missing from it. Because in this timeline he's already killed himself after Trunks was born, they literally painted him out of the scenes because of their own continuity and I love it for that lol
Far as I know the reason they don't go to namek is because new namek is in a different place than the old one frieza destroyed in his little temper tantrum, so they couldn't just go there and use their dragon balls. Even in the main time line goku only found it with a combination of instant transmission and king kai's help. Like he had to first instant transmission to king kai's planet and then feel out namek from their with king kai's help. So idk if Bulma in all her genius would have the ability to find new namek on her own. Or with her father's help. I can't seem to remember if he was around or had died in the original story. Otherwise there would be no issue since their dragon balls can resurrect people more than once but they still couldn't bring goku back since he died of natural causes.
Yeah, GanXingba is a fantastic voice actor. He played Android 17, Tien (who feels monochrome right now, but shines later on), he was Jeice and Recoome from the Ginyu Force, and his best performance (in my personal opinion) was Jan Valentine in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged episode 2.
There's actually a deleted scene of Future Gohan accepting Bulma's offer to "spend the night" and it cuts to later in the night with them getting it on the same way we saw Bulma and Vegeta getting in your last reaction and both Lanipator and Takahata were pushing hard for it. There was also a scrapped idea where it would've been revealed that the Androids actually killed Trunks at the end of the special and the Trunks we would follow for the rest of the series was actually a clone that Bulma created. Also if you do react to RWBY, you need to start with the Red, White, Black and Yellow trailers (in that order) and that there is a post credit scene at the end of almost every season
@@Brixujel_Rimulex Turns out it's a lot. A lot of thing can be turned into a gun. More things than you would think. Impractical, yet oddly effective things.
This abridged special was the first time I cried for anything Dragonball related. This here set TFS apart from amateur and even normal abridged teams. Instead of taking a serious scene and making it funny for a cheap laugh, they actually made it _more_ emotional than the original. Much respect for knowing when to reel in on the jokes when it matters.
The real question is: why didn't King Kai help getting someone to Namek so they can wish the others back? I mean, the only one who couldn't be resurrected was Goku as he died from an illness.
I was about to comment that originally Namek was found by coordinates by King Kai and then later Goku used King Kai's planet to track Namekian life force, so it would make sense not to go aimlessly to the space when you have limited resources. Yet still, if King Kai could speak to anyone telepathically, he could've helped others. I could assume that the difference between Freeza, Cell & Buu and #17 & #18 is that the former were a threat to whole galaxy while latter only to Earth. Maybe Kais have rules when and how much they are allowed to intervene. For example Supreme Kai was aware of Freeza yet he intervened only when Buu was about to resurrect.
So, a couple of things: 1. Monty Oum was probably one of our (Millennials) greatest and meticulous online animators and editors of all time (RvB reference, agent Washington says this). He got his online fame by making fight edits of famous video game characters. He then got hired on by Rooster Teeth for both the Red Vs. Blue (the longest, online animated series) and a new original series, RWBY. He was very detail-oriented about any fight scenes, often staying up hours during the night to fine-tune every single frame. Due to his work ethic, his animations were hailed as one of the best. A lot of us that were young and in that era online, loved and enjoyed many things he made. 2. From Wikipedia, Monty Oum died while having a unspecified severe allergic reaction during a "simple medical procedure." To those of us that knew of his work, it was a devastating loss for the online community; this was especially from those back from the ancient times of the early 2000s. We grew up with him and his web series, Dead Fantasy and Haloid, sharing them with friends, and making them viral before we knew what viral and memes were. If you were into anime, video games, and creator, there was almost no way you wouldn't have heard of Monty Oum at the time... just like Team Four Star back then. I'm the same age as him, and even to this day, it makes me sad thinking about this. He was one of us, and one of the major reasons why the online community is what it is today. So, yeah, RIP, Monty. Rest in peace.
oh wow, thank you for this. I really appreciate the description of Monty Oum. Although gone too soon, it's great to see that he left such an amazing legacy. I am glad you got that experience at the time:) ty as well to your super thanks, was not expected, but def super appreciated. - Peace, love, watermelon sugar:)

Most lists recommend watching this _after_ Cell enters the picture , but there's no harm in a DBZ veteran watching it now. In fact, now you get to enjoy some jokes from the main abridged episodes in reverse! Also, since a few people mentioned *Doctor Who* music... it was _(~was~)_ a beloved British sci-fi show about a time-traveller, so it pairs well with Future Trunks stuff. That ending CG and the Cha-La remix are based on the intro and theme tune that the show had at the time.
Can't disagree with that! The first 3 volumes were great... It's too bad they didn't have a bigger budget for them. I also enjoyed the rest of the series as well... Although there were a few things that bothered me here and there. Overall, I love watching people's reaction to RWBY, especially at all the big moments.
I would suggest on your own watching the TFS DBZA commentary marathon they did a few years back. TFS sat thru all the episodes and movies of DBZA doing commentary and episode breakdowns and its so insightful. Afterwards you will have a better understanding of there growth as creators and appreciation of everything these guy went thru to get this series out to the fans. It's amazing.
If Dr. Gero was smart enough to build androids powerful enough to defeat all the Z fighters, then Bulma and her dad should have been able build even better androids to fight back. Figuring out time travel had to have been the way harder option, scientifically.
Dr. Gero had been building robots and androids for decades, and was obsessed with killing Goku, whereas Briefs and Bulbs are kind of general mad scientist types, not specialists like Gero. Just because you can build spaceships and time machines, doesn't mean you can build a killing machine better than a master
Well, it took many years for Dr. Gero to build the Androids, Making Cell (the ultimate creation) was a plan that took over a decade to actually implement. It would have been a lengthy process for Bulma as well as she wouldn't even have a blue print unlike someone like Dr. Hedo. Plus, we have to consider that Bulma and Trunks were only theorizing how time travel would work, they didn't know whether it would follow Multi-verse theory or not until Trunks actually time travelled. If time travel worked like it typically does in flims, than they could have kept everyone alive and gotten the dragon balls back as well because even if Bulma did beat the Androids in some other way, she wouldn't have her friends back.
To build Androids as strong as 17 and 18 Bulma would've had to modify the bodies of children and turn them into fighting cyborgs, robbing them of their whole childhood. Bulma is a lot of bad things, selfish, perverted, hotheaded, vain. But she's not that evil, lol. And then there's the age old Dragon Ball questions. Why did none of the good guys ever thought of wishing for immortality so that they could have better chances against stronger enemies? Why didn't the gang wish for Nappa and Vegeta's pods to get sent into a sun? Answer: those things are just plot holes and we just gotta igore them.
One thing I wonder is why didn't Future Goku ever try to help by telling the Z Fighters about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber or any methods to beat the Androids because Goku has been allowed to keep his body each time he died in the main timeline. The argument could be made that perhaps all the Z Fighters died really fast so he didn't even get the chance, but Gohan was alive and old enough to take advantage of it. On a side note, Future Vegeta definitely went to hell.
@🥇The Jungle 𝕂Xℕ𝔾 talks WRESTLING👑 I think the answer would just be that they had no means of knowing where New Namek was, as the new planet was moved somewhere else, likely to avoid another Frieza coming along.
@🥇The Jungle 𝕂Xℕ𝔾 talks WRESTLING👑 the Supreme Kai and Kibito had actually died in the future timeline trying to stop the resurrection of Majin Buu, so Trunks probably didn't get the chance to ask them for help.
I know in the manga, Bulma says something like "your father was a horrible person! He's probably burning in Hell right now!" And she says it with this broad, sunny smile.
Maybe this was watched out of order, but I still hope it did a good job at showing how phenomenal TFS can be at writing serious moments in their comedic parody.
Monty oum didnt just work on rwby. It came from his mind and he did amazing work. I highly recommend you check out any work done by him. He was an amazing animator and what i hear person
8:10 That was after Dende wished everyone back to E-arth. Vegeta was being his usual racist self to the Namekians and waving his "Prince of all saiyans" title over Gohan. Then Gohan just attacked him
Technically since Goku is dead and would probably be with King Kai training he could have asked King Kai could look for the location of new Namek and give it to Bulma just like they did in the original timeline and original show. Despite that this is still my favorite storyline, I would have preferred for the original show to be like this, more serious and feel like there is actually consequences.
You probably don’t remember vegeta beating on gohan because you saw a censored version. Also, most of the music here are remakes of the OST from the BBC show: Doctor Who-which is a show about a time traveling alien who is the last of his kind. Kinda like future trunks.
That moment when you hear vegeta screaming happen on namek after he realized that Gohan took the dragonball Also the reason Bulma said "multiverse theory it is" at the end because Trunks would've appeared back as soon as he left, so it would be like he never left.
I hardly watch people react to other videos but the way you appreciate trunks’ story really hit home for me. I’m glad the algorithm brought me here. I’m subscribing
It just sad to see that this timeline gets erased by Omni King. Trunks saved it after so much effort. They don't even get to have an afterlife, I think.
New Namek's location was hidden to avoid another Frieza. In the OG, I think Kaiō had to help them find it, but nobody alive in this timeline ever met him.
This movie is rough because the original is so dark and serious it's super difficult to make funnny, it also came towards the time they started feeling burned out for ideas
"Which one is the brave and which one is the stupid" - I legit was actually wondering that for the first time as you paused it lol. Was thinking humans were the brave because they'd have more fears to overcome.
Just wanted to say I found your channel due to this series within the last few days. And I've enjoyed the content. About to move to episode 35 just uploaded but wanted am enjoying your reactions to them. And to answer your question in this movie where vegeta was punching Gohan in the face repeatedly it was after namek and king Kai was telling them about it. If you remember from the actual series vegeta was under the impression they took each other both out leaving him the strongest and Gohan stood up to him. That's where that scene came from and I too was surprised when tfs used it.
Didn’t see anyone else bring this up but 8:11 this happened in the original cut and was probably “too violent” for Kai. It was after everyone was wished from Namek before it blew up to Earth and Vegeta was talking shit about Goku so Gohan picked a fight with him. This is what happened after Vegeta started taking him seriously
I never got into RWBY, but I know Monty did some great work on Red vs Blue, too. If you start reacting to RWBY you should do RvB as well. Both will keep you occupied and provide content for your channel for a while.
I love that they made it so Bulma has a thing for spiky haired average height men who like to work out. It wasn't her love of bad boys that attracted her to Vegeta
FYI the Doctor Cha-La song is a remix of well cha la head cha la and the doctor who theme song in case you didn't know. Also, time machine tardis noises
They didn't go to New Namek because they didn't know where it was; it was created in a different part of the galaxy so that people looking for the Dragon Balls after Freeza couldn't find it.

True, but it’s multiverse, so there’s definitely a universe out there that plays out like this. But yes, it is quite a plot hole lol
He was tied with main timeline 17 in power after doing so, and the future androids are stated to be weaker.
lets say that somewhere in the back of my head i remember dying of natural causes means no revival, regarding miltiverses, i think its 4, 2 in which 2 goku dies and trunks go back and 1 in wich trunks go back after helping another timeline and dies by cell ambushing him and goes to eat the ones in our familiar tiimeline, tanks to dabura's spit and battle all the kais dies, soo zamasu went to the other saved timeline and wiped goku out leaving only the one our timeline and trunks one with fighters, soo probably babidi either found buu in the timeline that cell left or cause no fighters he didnt l
also low population. and zeno wiped alive trunks universe, now there are 3 time lines what was i talking about again?
Toriyama has borderline dementia with his own creations...
He forgot Launch even though she used to be a main character...
Kaiserneko is such an amazing editor and voice actor actually crazy how good he is
Like i enjoy tfs's work wayyyyyyy more then any other english dub
Their skill is actually so good
I love the fact Bulma says “god bless him” and vegeta always says “god damn it”
Love all the Doctor Who references they use for Trunks.
I still love all the Doctor Who References with Trunks, whether music choices like having the Dalek theme when Frieza was saying "EXTERMINATE, EXTERMINATE" or having the TARDIS sound effect for Trunks's time machine
The scene where Vegeta was fighting Gohan, was when they got wished back to Earth in the Namek saga, while Goku was fighting Freeza.
One of the things I like this was the Doctor Who references. About the Monty Oum memorial, he was actually supposed to be adult Gohan but before they were going to record, he tragically passed away
The main differnece is that Gero had time to fix their programming in Trunks timeline while he had to wake the twins early in the main timeline.
The fact that you're actively remembering the callbacks makes this satisfying to watch
This is when DBZ Abridged went from good, to great. I get choked up every time I see dead Gohan in the puddle. When the music starts up, I'm done.
I’ve wondering if Future Bulma took cooking lessons from Chi-Chi
I just now realised that the first clue that Piccolo was only there in Gohan's head was that he pronounced 'makankosappo' correctly.
Vegeta v Gohan happened in filler episodes during the Goku v Freeza fight
Rwby world make for great reactions. And definitely have to do the trailers first.
@@AGhastlyGengar i 2nd this purely for her reaction to being impressed by what can be turned into a gun
@@Brixujel_Rimulex Turns out it's a lot. A lot of thing can be turned into a gun. More things than you would think. Impractical, yet oddly effective things.
@@AGhastlyGengar oddly effective is a perfect way to describe RWBY weapons
When did they ever say that idea about Trunks being a fake?
So, a couple of things:
I am glad you got that experience at the time:)
ty as well to your super thanks, was not expected, but def super appreciated.
- Peace, love, watermelon sugar:)
@@Animelon Np. It's always fun watching ya'll enjoy the same things we did; helps keep the memories alive.
Take care.
8:11 Is from when they return home from namek. vegeta was talking trash about goku and gohan was trying to defend his honor. so he caught them hands. Also senzu's can be broken in half goku did it in the saiya-jin saga when he had 2 he got from korin[cat] he ate one to recover from the flight down snake way at top speed and had to divide the last one between krillin and gohan after they fought nappa. also if youre askin why they didnt go to namek. Its because porunga didnt make new namek in the same spot so the coordinates they have on record would lead them to an empty spot.
I love the fact that they use alot of Doctor Who music with Future Trunks.

Side note, montey’s first three seasons of RWBY were so good. You should definitely give them a go!
They're doing more commentary now on their Four Star Bento channel
If Dr. Gero was smart enough to build androids powerful enough to defeat all the Z fighters, then Bulma and her dad should have been able build even better androids to fight back. Figuring out time travel had to have been the way harder option, scientifically.
If that were the case she could’ve just made Gohan a whole new arm
@@manleychenoweth8144 Bulma had 17 years from the Death of Goku and the androids appearing to the time machine being used for the first time
To build Androids as strong as 17 and 18 Bulma would've had to modify the bodies of children and turn them into fighting cyborgs, robbing them of their whole childhood.
22:29 lmfao she said not the tulips bro
Maybe this was watched out of order, but I still hope it did a good job at showing how phenomenal TFS can be at writing serious moments in their comedic parody.
15:26 I had the same smile for the same reason...that we can't say.
It was a fantastic movie for sure.
12:55
I think he could have. In the original DBZ, if I remember correctly, Goku did that when he saved Krillin and Gohan in the Saiyan attack
Then Gohan just attacked him
Yeah I always thought it was weird that Vegeta fought Gohan when they got back
@@951penalozahugo What I found even weirder that Vegeta did that in front of everyone, and Bulma still went for him.
That moment when you hear vegeta screaming happen on namek after he realized that Gohan took the dragonball
Also the reason Bulma said "multiverse theory it is" at the end because Trunks would've appeared back as soon as he left, so it would be like he never left.
She said it because if he succeeded and it worked on BTTF rules, everything would have immediately gotten better.
@@The_One_In_Black yup, and since it didn't that means he created a new timeline separate from the one leading to his
I hardly watch people react to other videos but the way you appreciate trunks’ story really hit home for me.
6:36 shoulda been,
Gohan: I need an adult?
Trunks: You ARE an adult.
Ps, that's not my joke, couple fans made it, don't remember where n when.
My favorite part of the day recently has been watching your reactions to dbza. Makes me feel like I'm not completely alone. Lol
9:33 music in background is from Chrono trigger Millennium fair. 😁
I love watching this and then the epilogue it's great viewing that way
This movie is rough because the original is so dark and serious it's super difficult to make funnny, it also came towards the time they started feeling burned out for ideas
Goku: byyyyyye soooooon
I love how it became a running gag lol
Ox King was like "Oh, it's one of *those* day days..."
Chichi: Will dinner bring my husband back!?
It's Goku so... I wouldn't completely rule the possibility out?
The music used for future Trunks is from Doctor Who. I believe the one from the dying scene is from the 10th Doctor and Donna.
Melon about Chichi "Oh she's still alive" -> Only on the outside...
"If you bored, why don't you take a ride on my fist"
- future Gohan
There were rumors that Monty Oum of Red vs Blue was supposed to voice future Gohan. Sadly he passed away
Rip
8:20 That scene happened some time after all the Namekians were transported to Earth IIRC.
25:38 the song is from a series called doctor who that's the series intro and the series is all about time travel and it's acutally good
"Which one is the brave and which one is the stupid" - I legit was actually wondering that for the first time as you paused it lol. Was thinking humans were the brave because they'd have more fears to overcome.
Kaiser Neko at his best as Trunks
Just wanted to say I found your channel due to this series within the last few days. And I've enjoyed the content. About to move to episode 35 just uploaded but wanted am enjoying your reactions to them. And to answer your question in this movie where vegeta was punching Gohan in the face repeatedly it was after namek and king Kai was telling them about it. If you remember from the actual series vegeta was under the impression they took each other both out leaving him the strongest and Gohan stood up to him. That's where that scene came from and I too was surprised when tfs used it.
Someone probably mentioned it but adult gohan in this is Justin Briner, who voices Deku in MHA. He was gonna do the voice into season 4 if they did it
That was Adult Gohan for the Super Android 13 Abridged movie. I have no who Future Gohan is voiced by in this special.
The Vegeta beating Gohan happens during Goku vs Fieza fight
I've been watching your DBZA journey but I've never commented. Seeing you react to RWBY would be really cool.
This episode always makes me wanna play Chrono Trigger.
For those of you that don't know or remember Tapion is one of the heroes in Movie 13 Wrath of the Dragon.
Yeah Bulma was down bad in the alternate future she was tryna get her back blown out.
while Gohan has remained in the super saiyan transformation because of the Androids, today there is Gohan Beast
The ending is playing the Doctor who theme!
The Human half is brave (because weak) and the Saiyan half is stupid (because cocky) - I think, anyway. That's what makes sense to me.
Mr gohan: Dodge!
Like piccolo in training
*Melon:* Which one is the brave and which one is the stupid?
*Me:* ... yes.
Android 17 has the same voice actor as Jan Valentine in Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.
I never understood why Bulma didn't make Gohan a new arm
“I need to watch RWBY.”
Yes!
There's a MasakoX what-if on Future Gohan surviving, and he gets a cool robot arm from Bulma iirc.
in dragon ball super when goku was recruting for the tournment c17 in fact was a park ranger
8:15 After Goku dies on Namek. Then they're fighting on Earth. Piccolo let it happen for Gohan defending Goku's pride.
Most of the music they use for Trunks in DBZA is lifted from Doctor Who.
15:43 Ohhh... we know why, and it makes all sooooo happy!
15:26 He finally learned too. Atleast in a different timeline
There's a outtake where gohan bangs bulma like vegeta did but he yells Masenko
