- 4 New hybrids are coming to the game in the NEW Jurassic World Evolution 2 hybrid pack: the Secret Species DLC! The Spinoraptor, Stegoceratops, and Ankylodocus make their return, alongside the brand new hybrid dinosaur Spinoceratops from Camp Cretaceous.

For real. Like, anyone who knows anything about dinosaurs would know that you don't get to be the size of a building by showing mercy. Most of these sauropods should be able to step on their attackers and take them out in one hit

I like to think the hybrids all have health issues due to being unstable. Like the stegoceratops having an itch problem, or maybe the spinoraptor being a little “slower”

Initially I thought this comment was a typo, cause I thought you meant Spinoraptor.
But then I thought to myself… did I skip a bunch of the Spinoceratops section in the video? Surely they wouldn’t make animations for a herbivore eating out of the fish exhibit… and they did!!! I skipped the most crucial part of the Spinoceratops section thinking it was just a regular herbivore.
I should’ve known better that the Spino part of the Spinoceratops LITERALLY MEANS it eats fish 😭😭😭

I can 100% see myself using Ankylodocus as a stand-in or Shunnosaurus and Spinoraptor as Irritator
Same but i would use spinoraptor as a stand in for austroraptor. And i thought about using indoraptor as a stand in for postosuchus
I really hope that the Ankylodocus gets killing and fighting animations in a later update like they did with Giganotoraptor. Hey if they can do it once they can do it twice, along with the Stegoceratops being able to use it’s spiked tail to fight and kill as well, and it would also be nice if we could also get the Ankylodocus’s JWE1 appearance as a variant in a update, as well along with bioluminescent for the Scorpius Rex.
Then they would need to put it on all sauropods, and tbh I think they’re a bit too lazy to do that
well, ankylodocus could just be the only sauropod to fight back, even though that might not be what we want, it'll at least make the ankylodocus stand out amongst the other sauropods

Not gonna lie, this DLC doesn't look quite as bad as I thought. Hopefully the DLC does good in sales and doesn't get reviewed bombed because of the lack of a big free update.
Park suggestion: make a new hybrid research facility, but loosely inspired by Oppenheimer (map suggestion - Arizona) Detective Evo might be gone but Evonheimer might be on the horizon.
I already have one in a Sorna Redwoods (Oregon) as a JW Ingen facility.

@@antoniocastrojimenez8366 the only negatives for me are: 3 out of 4 were removed from when the game launched, Stegoceratops should have had the Nasutoceratops head and Scorpios Rex should also have bio skin.
@@luisemoralesfalcon4716 on top of that the sinospino is just recycling most animations from the sinoceratops. The anyklodocus is just an apatosaurus with spikes and has zero unique animations portraying the uniqueness of the animal. They could use more colors for the lux skins but they are all pinkish
They did the stegoceratps dirty, that used to be enormus compared to stegos with it's great kill. Now it's just cooler trike.
Nice to watch your DLC video. I haven't been able to get my video out, I missed Frontier's email arf... I asked Frontier if we couldn't be notified a few days before we get the keys, because I've been missing releases for a few times now. Hollie and Kat are on the case, but I think this request would carry more weight if more of us asked.
yeah EA was very strange this time! To get an email before the announcement and then have only 4 days for both the announcement and the showcase... oof I had a tough weekend and pulled an all-nighter tonight.
I've actually already subtly suggested a looooong time ago that it would help everyone involved if we could get a bit more heads up. I just don't think it's how they roll :)
Was literally watching your other videos on this dlc. My favourites are spinoraptor and spinoceratorps surprisingly. I think it looks so cute.

I miss when Triceratops/Stegosaurus had actual kill animations instead of just having the carnivores flop over after a normal attack. Give trike back the ability to stab a rex through the neck with its horns, and this update was a good opportunity to bring those animations back
That is what I'm saying but also give the kill animations back to the ankylo and stego species
Kind of thought that the Spinoraptor was going to reach out and claw the human hanging from its jaws. Would've really shown off the mega-sized raptor thing in a new way although what we have is good too. Glad to see we can still give it skins that resemble JP3 and JP raptors. I'll have to double-check to see if there's a good tiger variant too.
Ankylodocus to me is the second-best looking sauropod after the JP3 Brachiosaurus's variant skins but it really blows that it's just any old sauropod. Hopefully we keep getting free updates so one can fix the fact that it can't fight back.
12:44 okay I like that it’s a nice way to use the club tail as well as pulling traits from a living animal, that being the giraffe as male giraffes will usually stand next to one another and swing their necks at one another as a way of challenging one another
I just realized something. If you notice, with this pack and the last few DLCs, they have been adding the remaining missing species from both the movies and Camp Cretaceous:
1. Marine Species Pack: Nothosaurus
2. Cretaceous Predator Pack: Tarbosaurus
3. Secret Species Pack: Spinoceratops
Two more species need to be added: the Microceratus and Smilodon. There have also been hints at a Pterosaur/Flying Species Pack. If this year is the last year of DLC for JWE2, there must be at least three more DLC packs. The Microceratus could likely be part of a Cretaceous Prey Pack, and the Smilodon could be part of a Cenozoic/Ice Age Pack. That’s just my guess, so I could be very wrong.
I wish nights were darker, to the lights and lux skins really shine! I remember the first game night island being actually dark!
I feared they wouldn't make Ankylodocus fight, but I hoped Frontier wouldn't commit that huge mistake again... Ankylodocus NOT fighting back was it's bigger problem in the first game, even more then how it looked. They improved his apearance, but it still not fighting back makes it pointless...

I like how Evo is completely honest about her feelings when it comes to frontier. Coming from the isle community, it’s like a breath of the cleanest air possible.
What I would love to see in the future (probably in the next game) is they have an additional campaign more that is similar to JWE 1 where you have multiple parks/ facilities that share money but now research. It could be a Dr. Wu focuses modes that surrounds Hybrid research, and you can unlock a lux skin for every dino in the game.
Spinoraptor animations are awesome!

Going into this i thought the spinoceratops was gonna be my fav, but seeing it in action, ankylodocus looks the best (maybe they'll let it fight in a few months like when they added hunting to gigantoraptor)

I would say that they've really improved them all with the animations and New models, what im mad about is not having an update, this would have been the perfect excuse for a new viewing thing or a New fence or something like this idk I fear that they will never add New stuff apart for New dinos

Spinoraptor's one of my favorite hybrids in Jurassic World. I remember playing Jurassic World the Game on mobile and seeing it at level 40 with feathers made me love it even more

I’m actually really happy we got a DLC that finally gave the four missing hybrids, it was long over due and seven species is a good number for their group in the game, now you can finally make a dedicated hybrid dinosaur facility, it’s great to have the Spinoraptor back, the Spinoceratops looks amazing, the Ankylodocus looks better than ever and the Stegoceratops looks even more fearsome, we haven’t gotten any new ceratopsian species in the game since the Pachyrhinosaurus, so the return of the Stegoceratops and the addition of the Spinoceratops is a really good decision, with three of the four missing Camp Cretaceous species now added, chances are 50/50 now that the Microceratus or the Smilodon will be the next missing species added into the game.
Maybe being a little atomistic here but I think they are going to give hadrosaurs and sauropods the ability to fight in a future update and it would give Ankypod (I’m not spelling that) fighting animations with all the others
Also the first 2 hybrids are pretty big so maybe the enclosure was to small for there kill animation?
They did Stegoceratops dirty with this dlc, it should be on equal standing with Spinoceratops but it's just a weak second best. I'll get this dlc at a discount price, maybe summer sale
I feel like the Anklydocus should have had a unique animation where it would swing it's tail when being hunted, it could do damage to the carnivore hunting it before it gets attacked and could get the chance to kill the carnivore. I think that because sauropods in this game are too slow to fight, it would be a very anticlimactic battle.

Hmm I think the chasing and then the fighting/kill interaction are programmed separately, so them interacting in the chase would require quite a bit of code modifying
For the ankilotocus, maybe frontier will do what they did in the past with the Gigantoraptor, the dinosaur didn’t have a feature

Spinoraptor it's gorgeous especially it attacking almost anything
maybe you can sinoceratops as juvenile spinoceratops? sinoceratops already looks quite strange and the sail on spino seems like a more extreme version of pentas hump making it not completely unnatural. so they meet in a middle ground

I was so excited when I saw your species review, I really wanted to see these hybrids in action
Since spinoceratops is supposed to be passive it might be that they wanted it to look like the carnivores killed themselves by charging into spinoceratops rather than having spinocera actively be the one doing the stabbing but.. idk.. fish feeder animation looks cool though. I wanted hybrids more than anything but between the animations for most of them, or rather lack of, and the fact that im not only gonna buy for spinoraptor, i might just skip this one sadly..

Would the irex be able to camouflage with the lux skin because it wouldn’t work with both.
In the release animation in the video you can see that the skin does turn green, but it doesn't affect the bright areas. It's not like it switches that off when camouflaging.

There has to be something wrong with it. Makes no sense removing it. They have done a great job with the Spinoraptor. Why wouldnt they do the same with the rest. I hope its just a bug or something.

I think another thing that adds to spinoraptors notability is that in the first game it was so brutal with everthing. And its good to see it carry over to this game. This animal is just crazy!

In a dream world we would've gotten Stegoceratops and Spinoraptor in a free update. And Ankylodocus 2 and Spinoceratops in a dlc with 2 new hybrids, the new 2 both hopefully being feathered, marine, or flying for variety. I think that would make people more happy.
It would've also been a reinvention of the pack and the hybrids if they had skins/variants that changed their genes and gave them differing designs. I think people that enjoy hybrids (the target audience) would enjoy gene splicing. Think Emily Stepps hybrid art where she draws different genetic variants of Jurassic Park dinosaurs.
the pack as it is now, with 2 new dinos essentially and 2 refurbished it is essentially 4 new dinosaurs, but the price doesnt feel warranted? This feels like a JWE1 dlc pack and the lack of marine, feathers, or fliers which has been the appeal of the packs for a while now is a bit disappointing.
Gotta support spinoraptor, plus that ankylodocus glow up is a nice bonus (might actually USE it now)

Overall, I'd say that this video is VERY ethical. (Okay, all jokes and crap aside, I'm really hyped for this upcoming DLC cuz hybrids and glow stick dinos are pretty cool. Appreciate you covering this, Evo!)

btw, if you release an Indominus Rex with a pack of Spinoraptors, they will form a pack. It's interesting because the Spinoraptors are still part raptor like the Indominus, so it kinda makes sense?

I will be getting this pack as I have been playing around with an idea of making a breeding facility park that would take two different species and making the hybrids happen.

In the first game, the Stegoceratops was my favorite because she could impale her opponents with her long horns. Now, she doesn't even have an ending animation for the fight. The opponent just sinks to the ground. Now the Spinoraptor is my favorite hybrid.

Evo all the ceratopsians, stegosaurids and ankylosaurids dont have a kill animation 😅, they just give a attack and the others just flop to the ground when they die.

Something about the ceratopsids between Evo 1 and Evo 2 is that they removed their kill animation in 2. In 1 the ceratopsids would impale the theropods with their horns when they made a last attempt to charge at the ceratopsids and hold them there for a couple of seconds before pulling out and letting the body drop. In 2 they simply do their attack animation and the theropod wobbles and falls. It's really odd that they would remove an animation and not replace it.
Something really cool about Spinoraptor that Evo missed: it likes Velociraptor and has a social interaction with them. No pack-forming, though.
Stegoceratop's horns remind me of that big trike in prehistoric planet.
