Ali took charge of the team at London and Rio. She's a natural born leader, and in this day of the overused word role model, she is a true role model for young women around the world.
Hands down one of the most reliable & consistent gymnasts in history. She oftentimes challenged herself. She was a Captain because she's steady, calm, level headed, & a cheerleader to her teammates.
I've said this many times, Aly is a champion both on and off the gymnastics floor! I have so much respect for what she's done in her athletic career. However, I have even more admiration and respect for her after all the advocacy work she's done post Rio! What a champ! ❤️
I got genuine chills after seeing her cry during her last leap of the 2012 team floor routine and the chills didn’t stop the whole time through. I don’t care if Simone is the GOAT, Aly is her silver medalist, motivational captain, and a true champion of a person. Wonderful woman, wonderful gymnast.
Talk about a level of professionalism for these ladies. Especially what Nasser did to her. To win the Gold I am so proud of you Aly and all of the survivors no one deserves to be treated like that ever.
It’s absolutely annoying. It is the only thing you hear, I understand why, and the athletes are more important than my annoyance, but I highly doubt it actually benefits them. Imagine this with other sports, I don’t believe it would be allowed, at the very least it would be discouraged.
@@_JoyceArt That was her teammate. As a former dancer and from what gymnast friends have told me, the encouragement very much helps. Sports like these are mental games, so the reinforcement from outside keeps you moving even if you feel down on yourself.

We have to remember that this is jordyn wieners only gold medal of the whole Olympics after being world champion two years straight going into the Olympics and all around gold medalist both years. I watch this Olympics and the only thing I can think of is unfortunately this is the only time I’ve ever seen her compete nervous. All of her landings are just a little too big a little too overrotated or a little too Half to be counted as a correct. It takes a bigger person when you realize you’re out of any chance of an individual metal to still tear on your team and when you know you’re the one who is the Achilles’ heel. That is why she is one of my favorite gymnast. She took her chance and was grateful for the result she had even though her individual contribution was interstellar on that day. It was truly a joy to watch her on that journey from London to Rio! And seeing the journey she's on now is incredible in a totally different way!
Considering Aliya Mustafina also competed in London and Rio and got 7 medals, one more than Alexandra, I think she really deserves a video too... Please, Olympic!!! :)
@@lottamarie9197 EHH, I love Aliya so much, she's my favorite gymnast competing right now, but I unfortunately really doubt that Russia will send her to Tokyo, unless she presents a 6.4+ D score routine and performs it consistently without any major errors.
