Porcupine Care - Parasite Prevention and Trimming Toenails

Part of the responsibility of having animals is being sure to meet their needs. This video shows a few monthly general care routines that I do with my pet African Crested porcupines. One is giving them parasite prevention since one of them got sarcoptic mange (scabies) from being outside and the other is to regularly trim their toenails.

the spot that rachel is applying the treatment to on the porcupines actually isn't pointy! they have regular fur just like any other animal, and the quills are more focused in the hind area. the only way rachel would get poked in this situation is if she intentionally tried to.
