So, to answer the question, they create friendships with anyone no matter what because they take care of them, they act as a nanny figure to any animal it crosses, even towards predators, they will take care of them by cleaning them or attracting bugs as food, they will literally just do the nicest things for no reason, so they make friends with anyone. If you ever happen to find a wild one, that is literally a blessing because they will let you pet it no matter what, it sounds bizarre and unrealistic, but it's true.
I have a friend who lives in Brazil. Capybaras seem to be a common sight down there. People stop their cars to let them cross streets. They come and relax on her lawn frequently. She constantly posts pictures of them on her FB profile. They’re cute!

For those who are wondering why Capybaras are so friendly its because there so relaxed and chill, they don't really care what you do so long as you don't hurt them.
Each animal has their own reasons for liking the company of Capybaras and I believe a big reason they are attracted to them in the first place is because they show absolutely no aggression in behavior, facial expressions, or sounds. They are just chill animals.
Capys are herbivores so they don't threaten any other animals. They are slow and mild mannered, so they don't charge or attack other animals like hippos or rhinos, which are also herbivores but short tempered and intolerant. So other animals dont feel the need to stay away either as potential meals or from a grumpy capy. They are the friendliest animals on earth. There! I gave you reasons why animals love caps.

So, to answer the question, they create friendships with anyone no matter what because they take care of them, they act as a nanny figure to any animal it crosses, even towards predators, they will take care of them by cleaning them or attracting bugs as food, they will literally just do the nicest things for no reason, so they make friends with anyone. If you ever happen to find a wild one, that is literally a blessing because they will let you pet it no matter what, it sounds bizarre and unrealistic, but it's true.

I have a friend who lives in Brazil. Capybaras seem to be a common sight down there. People stop their cars to let them cross streets. They come and relax on her lawn frequently. She constantly posts pictures of them on her FB profile. They’re cute!

Alix Berenzy Me too! I currently have two guinea pigs; they’re very sweet little pets! I just rescued an abused one (replete with scars) that was dumped in a parking lot. He’s outgoing, social, and adores his cage mate, Mocha. Someone’s junk is someone else’s treasure!
I’ll head down to South America generally once or twice per year (for work). I haven’t seen any capybaras yet but I look forward to eventually seeing one!

Each animal has their own reasons for liking the company of Capybaras and I believe a big reason they are attracted to them in the first place is because they show absolutely no aggression in behavior, facial expressions, or sounds. They are just chill animals.

Capybaras are those friends that provide you company and comfort when your bf /gf hurt your ass for the 32nd time.
Capys are herbivores so they don't threaten any other animals. They are slow and mild mannered, so they don't charge or attack other animals like hippos or rhinos, which are also herbivores but short tempered and intolerant. So other animals dont feel the need to stay away either as potential meals or from a grumpy capy. They are the friendliest animals on earth.
