Hamilton didn't have to work his way up from the back of the grid like almost every other rookie did, he was served a title winning mclaren on a silver platter. The truth is for most of the season Hamilton did. His 2008 season was full of mistakes. In 2010 and 12 Hamilton was mega but in 2011 he was awful. 2013 was good but during this time alonso was better
