I don't have a Senton or a Slash, but I do run my Hobao with those 2, it's on par I would say. Price, centre diff, sway bar. Hobao is the best value for me👍 thanks for sharing this vid. Much appreciated👍
You've made a great choice with the 10SC. Like my SSte Truggy, I also use one of these at my local club, and of the three of us who have them - have never experienced any problems with them. And I'll be honest, they're clearly the best performers by far. So well built with great tuning options for a track. Mine is running the following: A Toro 3663 4600kv motor, 8BL150 esc, 14t pinion, GX 25kg low profile servo (very quick!), 550cst front shock oil, 450cst rear shock oil, 10k cst front diff oil, 30k cst centre diff, with 7k cst in the rear. It handles like a dream. The only gripe I have with it is the battery tray, it's a tad too narrow for the 3S hardcase packs I use, and I've had to cut a rectangle out of the back end in order to fit the battery in (on its side) with the pos' and neg' leads through the hole. I'll be changing the tray for a larger one very soon. Great colour scheme by the way! I quite fancy getting hold of the 8SC version too.
They got some realy good RCs. I own 8 Hobaos now. They have failures Like every Other RC. But they are Solid for the Money, Like No Other Brand. And i own losi, Traxxas, Arrma, LC Racing, MJX and Realy too.
Aside from my Slash 2wd brushed, my Hyper 7 is the only vehicle I've tried to kill while bashing and have only mustered up a few broken, easily replaceable parts. Got back into the RC game in 2022 after a decade hiatus so I'm glad to see Hobao still in the game.
These are perfect for indoor/outdoor mudboss! I wish more shops would allow companies like this to race with traxxis and assosiated on spec class racing. I think the chassis makes 30% of the vehicle. You still have to be a good driver!
I think that Hobao in everything that is not buggy and track is not well considered in relation to its real quality. I have an MTX and I am very happy with it, it has nothing to envy of the Traxxas Xmax, Traxxas Maxx, Arrma Outcast 4S, 6S and 8S with which we usually go out. It is equally or more resistant. This Hobao SC10 reminds me more in its chassis design of the Losi Tenacity TT Pro and DB Pro than the Senton and the Slash and gives me more of a feeling of quality than the latter. Greetings from Spain
Looks like a masterpiece. Hobao products always impress me. Just wish it would be more available where I live. And great that they offer their products as rollers and rtr. And not forget that they have some great nitros 👍
I've got the hyper tt with same motor and esc running on a 20T pinion on 3s lipo it's a beast of a truggy will have to get the short course truck for my next build
Assuming that is the OG to my Team Redcat SC10E. I still have it and I had a new body for it but my girlfriend got mad at me and cut it off and now I can’t find a body! Redcat made it wicked fast out of the box and handles incredibly well! It’s crazy face on two hours and I’ve only tried it on 3S a few times but the short course body wasn’t handling it. My goal is to value up whatever parts I need to get another year or two out of it and then make it into an on the road. And handles incredibly well! Def one of my best of 50.
Are used to have a hyper 10sc I called it the zombie. It was also awesome, but not as good as my jammin. But I got out of it and sold everything now I’m getting back into it and I am absolutely going to order two of the hyper 10 SC.
I gave up on these as bashers as the pinion and spur is exposed to all debris that flys off the front tires. I've actually snapped multiple motor shafts cause rocks wedged in. Definitely highly recommend a breathable protection sock over the chassis to prevent this. Also trim down the front bumper as it will catch on stuff easily
I just bought this roller tonight there is only 2 left. I don’t want to bash mine though, I want to race it at the track. I was thinking Mamba all the way or maybe Tekin set up? We will see. Thanks for the great video
IAM not a fan of short course, however great build and great colour scheme, it does look like very good components also, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏😺
Great build mate, Love the paint job too! I have 3 Hobao's all running 4s. Each one has its own characteristics. I cannot speak highly enough of them. They have become my daily go to for large open area's, My poor ARRMA cars including my Fireteam are collecting cobwebs even though they are fantastic. Comparison to a Slash or a Senton? There is none, My 3 Hobao's eat them alive for speed, handling and build quality. My only complaint is some Hobao chassis are hard to fit large batt packs. But I am running huge 8000mAh 100c packs. They run really well on 3s though, But for sheer wow factor, 4s is jaw droppingly quick and responsive. One of mine is quicker than my mates fully modded Traxx ass 8s XRT in a straight line and in handling. If people are on the fence about buying one, Just do it, You will never regret it. Hobao quite simply kick ass in all aspects. Parts for them are everywhere online but I've never broken anything. Remember though, Monster trucks are made for skate parks.. Buggies and Cars are made for racing/driving. Great video mate, Cheers, Take care - PRC - Australia
Nice choice of electronics, would have chosen the 4000KV motor though. Would prefer ANY SCT over the Senton, we just have had enough of that crappy drivetrain… But would prefer the Slash over Hobao, simply because support for Hobao is very poor in Denmark and in most of Europe. If it was better supported in Denmark, I might buy one and use it on track.
The 4s Mojave just came out, which to me is like a 4s Senton. Tough choices, but you can't really lose when picking RCs right now. The market is so close.
What a great build. Exactly the electronics I would have chose. Wonder what the top speed is on 3s, probably do 50+ with the right gearing. Might try that set up in my MT10, even the Sanwa radio would be great if I can adjust the brake. The Team Associated SC10 pro4 would probably be my short course choice great for the price for what iv seen. Maybe my next purchase 👍
Cool you make a vid about the 10sc. I like mine a lot, got a PL Heatwave body on it. Your colur scheme is cool and the electronics are a good choice 👍 I run mine on 3000kv, hw max10 (v1 not v2) and a 17t pinion on 4s. It flys and make backflips 😅
This truck looks cool. But a short course truck without a solid rear axle & 4 link suspension just doesn't look right. Plus it is tougher for jumping & bashing. It would probably make the price higher though.
Have long supported Hobao over traumas an arrma. When you dont want plastic configuration and the new arrma keeps breaking, you buy hobao the builds are superior out of box, hence you don't need all the upgrades, they're already race n bash ready
I wouldn't for one very simple reason, availability where i live. By the time i have imported one it will be as much as a traxxas or similar or even more and if it ever breaks it will be sitting for at least 2 weeks while i wait for parts. The other brands i can get parts today.
What do you think of the Hobao Hyper 10SC? Good enough to replace the Arrma Senton and Traxxas Slash as your daily basher? i think the slash is better because it has got way more upgrades and aftermarket parts, it's cheaper (around 300€ in france vs 350€ for the hobao) and it's rtr
From my comparison, this truck is way better than a slash, better suspension, center diff, and more tunable in general, and will eat a slash alive on 2 s for speed and handling.
I won pro 4 with my Hobao hyper 10sc and that was back when the class was at its pinnacle the way I went undefeated was simple 4 pole Castle motor is a must with two s 5000 mah x2 so 10000mah soft packs with a connector for x2 run time also you had to drive this truck it was not easy but hands down destroyed the Traxxas 4x4 , the jammin and the losi all had no chance
looks heavy for 2s batteries. the senton sucks on a track. its to twitchy and doesnt have enough steering and no center diff which you really need for a track.
223 pounds for an empty rolling chassis and an unfinished body no wonder why noone chooses it 🤣 except who probably races them but this for the money gives nothing... Could you point out a price which makes it to a point where it's basically racing viable so we can see which trucks it can be put in a ballpark with?
yes but the point of a rolling chassis is for users to decide on their own electronics. Of course this isn't aimed at beginners or people just getting into the hobby. Thats where the slash and senton are kings. What this is a great way for the more advanced hobbyist to put their own personal take on their truck and do things their way or for racing fans. Total price of this build would be: £502/$612/€580
Hobao RCs are definitely underrated. The MTX is one of the best monster trucks ever made.
Wow. That vivid orange is brilliant.
Mate this is sick! bravo! You made me want this rc!

Hyper 10sc and Hyper TT have the best 1/10 diffs hands down. There's a reason people run 6s on this little things.
I was just looking into this. Definitely under rated because it's under marketed. Tons of features for the money.
for sure 😎👍
Love the paint job! The colors and the simple scheme work very well. Hobao sadly are underrepresented in the market in most places.

My old ofna jammin sc10 was hands-down the best RC car I ever had. Unfortunately, it became very hard to get parts for it. That thing was incredible.

Been considering a Haboa for a while! Seem like they handle great and have centre diffs
I wouldn’t buy that specific one due to the small battery compartment though
I think the hyper 8 SC will be good hopefully find out soon!
SCTs definitely don’t need that much torque, definitely with trading some torque for speed.
