I have attempted to listen to Daves entire catelog in my life, i am thrilled to still be discovering new things to listen too. I hope this feeling of joy, wonder, and respect for great music never goes away.
I had after her on my Napster account. Brought back some good memories
i grew up in a group home in ne ohio. i would stay up late and hear college radio from Baldwin Wallace College from 1998-2001. My first concert was DMB at Blossom, second concert, and last, was that fall in the former Gund Arena. But every summer, BWC would run DMB deep cuts during concert season when they'd come to Blossom Ampithetre. Were it not for this band and my counselors, I would have unalived myself. My parents had given up on me, my friends were non-existent. For a 13 year old black dude wondering where he fit in the Greater Narrative, it felt like belonging, even if it was belonging in my own head. It combatted the greater stresses. To hear these early takes, again, feels like booting up the lower registered radio, playing guitar with my foster bro Hargis and not feeling like a leftover. To hear this, these versions again, makes the last 15 plus years of turmoil worth it.
I used to have this CD… was just titled Demo Tracks. I made a bunch of copies and traded for other CD’s at the Gorge in George Wa. Should of made more copies…. Scratched and lost eventually….WOW! Really great to hear it again! Brings back fond memories…Thanx for sharing
Are you the guy who published it on discogs? Just curious because there was also can you feel it, and sweet Georgia peach. Bootlegs
He was just brilliant from the get-go!
Imagine Dave just playing these songs in a room by himself
After Her is such a better title and flows better than satellite IMO
Such a good version of lover lay down
Thanks for sharing this. Love nothing more than another acoustic album for those rainy cold days.
The "Junkyard" has been tagged as an Uber-favorite. Nice finds all around. I especially love that "Rutabaga" has so many songs that the lyrics haven't even really been finalized yet. Thanks Jonathan!
Wow! Thank you for sharing this!
Ahhhh! You made me remember my tape trading days!
Downloaded!
I really think Dave solo is the best, especially these early songs. Just a guy and his guitar making the most of it, no band needed.
Some Devil Some Angel for example
I’m not going to say better or more enjoyable but this way is definitely better for if you are wanting to really feel the lyrics. I wish all artist would put out single guitar acoustic versions of their songs. The depth of meaning to me is so much more this way.
Amazing to hear this before Lillywhite. By the time he got to DMB , these songs had developed a following…..and it’s not surprising that DMB had that following. Very captivating and great. Then you add the rest of the OG band and then Lillywhite…BOOM, 30 million records! Beautiful
lillywhite session are some of my absolute favorite recordings
how did you find this?!

@Lhdisarray curious, I've always hoped to find actual video of the show on 5/5/95 in Salem, OR at the LB Day Amphitheater that made it to live trax #12.. I hope to find video of that version of #40. It's my absolute fave.
