Why yes Sonic Mania does have a good soundtrack, but most of it was just remixes of older tracks, not unique newly made ones, whereas Sonic 4, I'm pretty sure only remixed a couple tracks which are the unused boss theme from 3D Blast which was used in the boss theme, and some jingles like the act clear, drowning, extra life, etc being remixes from Sonic 1/2/3/&K. Despite the OST being pretty mid.

How was it great? Episode 1 was just Rush and Colors physics pretending to be a Classic Sonic game by taking away what made those games work without doing anything to make it work, with shit graphics and levels that pretend to be new but actually change less than Generations and Mania. Can't comment on Episode 2 but it just seems mediocre.
No it suck. Horrible physics, horrible level design, rehash of level themes and boss fights, only 4 zones and the same Sonic 1 special stages??? The awful instruments of the music is just the icing of the cake. Sorry excuse of a sequel to literally the best game in the series...
