That's really creative and a great method; the blue affects the orange of the wood gradually with depth so the slices by the surface look green like lily pads and the board blue like water. But the best part is that by looking at the end result you can see how the entire thing was made. Catches the eye.
You got me thinking. It would be cool to cut those wood pucks down into slivers of varying sized and paint them. Maybe il make a mosaic thing encased in epoxy?
Any recommendations for Birch wood? Because I have some live edge Birch wood coasters that I would like to use resin one but when I did that it just soaked up all my resin. Do you have any tips on what to do to prevent that from happening?
Hey, great project and I´ll probably try it! So, it´s definitely epoxy and not polyester resin? In my country, polyester tends to have that blue color and epoxies seem to have an amber tinge. Also, any problems with the wood segments leaking air bubbles back into the first resin pour? Finally, what were you applying at the end with that aerosol can? Thanks!!
Hi Paul, yeah the resin is the epoxy type. We generally don't have issues with bubbles from the wood. Occasionally we will find a large one has migrated to the surface, most likely from being trapped in a little nook rather than from seeping out of the wood itself.

That's odd, I haven't seen that happen. The wood shouldn't be able to soak up too much resin. Make sure the wood is dry might help.
@@OneManInaTree that's why I am so confused too :( it is really dry and my whole painting is gone 🥺😂
