wind power is always advertised as green and the way to go but i got to wonder how much the average wind turbine costs v how long they last along with the impact of making them and renewing them compared to other methods of generation
I am curious why this is the most economical thing to do? can a new turbine not be installed on tower? I hope its not something stupid such as the government will subsidize a new wind turbine but not an upgrade.
if you read the description of the video, it states "The Wind Farm Owner inspected all twenty-four (24) units and approved them for the re-powering program using wind turbine generators of *larger capacity.*" they're being removed in order to make space for larger and more effective turbines
A short explanation of why these things need to come down would be interesting. Also, are there no reusable parts on these turbines? Can all that fiberglas be chopped up and recycled?
@@TheLoizeauxGroupLLC I understand that in some situations, you can't share specifically why something was imploded. But, bringing down wind turbines? Are they outdated? Broken? They're being replaced with more modern versions? Often times when I watch one of your videos, I google the site to understand the history of whatever is being imploded. Anyway, I was just making a suggestion as other viewers probably would enjoy more background as well. 😉
Sounds like it'll be easier to cut up with them lying face-down flat (almost) on the ground... If it's on the other side, you could have a problem. Since the generator housing can be larger than a city bus, parts of the blades that didn't snap off when it hit the ground could be suspended at a height roughly several floors up...
Usually the farmers get compensated for that. But also the farmers get a yearly cut too from the companies allowing them to put the turbines on their farms in the first place. Nice win win.
Is it true that all this debris was then carted off to landfills? For example The farm of 44 turbines recently retired at the average age of 18 years old. In October of 2016, Xcel Energy plans to dynamite the turbines and cart off the waste to a landfill.
All of it will get recycled apart from the blades. As of later this year 100% of turbines will be recyclable. Recyclable blades have been in the making for years but everyone is quick to comment on 'another one for the landfill". You really need to research this as you'll be really surprised at what gets made from recycled turbine parts.
Beautiful blast or demolition but you can see how the 1.6 million € or dollars go away for such a beautiful wind turbine Schöne sprengung oder Demolition aber so kann man sehen wie die 1,6 Millionen € oder Doller weg gehen für so eine schöne Windkraft anlage
I wonder why the demolition was done when the farmer had a good stand of corn rather than waiting until after harvest. I hope you compensated the farmer for the loss of his crop.
Lol. Watching the first half of the video thinking, dang these folks need to step up their game! Why the heck aren't there some go-pros all around the impact site and up close views of the blast. Second half...'chef's kiss'. One more camera angle that would be awesome on your next one would be looking up at the turbine as it falls down, from just off the impact site.
Why are these being demolished? You have several videos. Worn out? Never worked as advertised? What gives? Curious. Not a fan of wind turbines. Eyesore. Ahhh. Being replaced. Ugly.
They are an old outdated generation and are being replaced by more powerful ones. Instead of having 30+ of them, there will be around 20, which will still generate more electricity. Obviously newer ones cannot always be installed on existing towers, as newer models often require higher towers, but foundations can often be re-used. Some older models get disassembled and sold (either to be used elsewhere or as spare parts).
Watches one wind turbine in a group being demolished. Says that green energy doesn’t work. Watches smoke stacks and cooling towers being demolished. Says nothing.
POV: your pedestal fan falls at 3:00 AM
Explosions ..very satisfying! I'm glad I not have to run the Combine at harvest....hope ALL the pieces are picked up.
😊
UFO enthusiasts are now reporting tri-shaped crop circles, indicating a new type of starship has arrived... ;)
This is one of the coolest channels on UA-cam.
Yeah get this dude to 100K subs
The Loizeaux family have, hands down, one of the most enjoyable channels to watch while drinking my morning coffee.
Wow, thank you!
@@TheLoizeauxGroupLLC ...C D I... is the Best...🙂
👍🏼 Definitely one of your best videos, especially the audio! Wow!
1:55 Now you're just showing off! 👍😉👍
🤣 Could be, yet I like it! 😎✌🏼
Now that is satisfying!!!
Did I hear Mark doing the countdown? Great Job.
A bunch of copper hitting the dirt. Excellent job as always....
Another fine professional job :)
Why does every turbine that exploded has a black cloth on the bottom?
to catch the debris from the explosion at the base.
They sure do tear a lot of those windmills down. Not so green after all. How much crop was wasted when it fell on it?
Shot from drone and a couple gopro shots would be awesome too!
Nice video.
Excuse me. This is first demolition video I've seen on this site. Could you explain why the wind turbines are being demolished ? Thanks.
It too old maybe
wind power is always advertised as green and the way to go but i got to wonder how much the average wind turbine costs v how long they last along with the impact of making them and renewing them compared to other methods of generation
from what i've seen, these models of turbine are old, and are being replaced with larger, more modern and more effective turbines.
Luckily, there's tons of research into this exact topic that you could look up
Can you do Oregon State Stadium implosion?
Love the camera footage, love to fit a wide angle GoPro type camera to the top of the turbine enclosure and get footage of the ride to destruction!
Proof of the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Nice work
What, no drone following it down ;)
As usual, fantastic footage, love the quick shots of the base...
CDI videos keep getting better!
I am curious why this is the most economical thing to do? can a new turbine not be installed on tower? I hope its not something stupid such as the government will subsidize a new wind turbine but not an upgrade.
Ding!!! We have a winner!!!

"The Wind Farm Owner inspected all twenty-four (24) units and approved them for the re-powering program using wind turbine generators of *larger capacity.*"

No. More than likely they are up powering the site.
Those wind turbines are not as dromatic as the smoke stacks you bring down but still they are cool to watch coming down
Wow! Excellent camera angles. Incredibly well done
Love the shot where the turbine falls right in front of the camera! It’s wonderful to see those eyesores get blown away.
Did you have to pay for the damaged crops?
👍👍
Probably the turbine owner/operators give them an 'allowance', ot they write it off taxes.
0:45 I can hear metal cable snapped.
1:54 excellent close-up.
0:36 💥💥 bebebebeebeebbebeee 💥💥 heheehe :))
holy crap!
So what do they do about all the concrete that is poured in the ground for the support, when I seen one being built, was huge, with so much rebar.
A short explanation of why these things need to come down would be interesting. Also, are there no reusable parts on these turbines? Can all that fiberglas be chopped up and recycled?
This is amazing! The poor crops though :'(
Some context to these video's would be helpful and appreciated. Example, why these windmills are being removed.
Nice video.
I'm glad you like the video! We usually try to give our viewers as much information on our projects as possible. Sometimes, we aren't allowed to.
It says in the description that they are being removed to be replaced with higher output/more efficient units. It was done to salvage the foundation.

One rabbit is reporting missing

I bet the farmer wasn't too happy
Enjoyed the video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
The new and first demolition in this year.
No matter what it is, turbines, buildings or bridges, I never tire of watching CDI do their job.
the most beautiful sight i have ever seen.
Elmer Thud finally nailed the Wascally Wabbit!?
Very graceful fall.
Looks like a feather.
Did you had to pay extra for those crops? Nice Video!
The sound of the cables snapping was really cool
Way cool !!!
Thank you so much!
Love that they fell perfectly flat on their propellers.

2:24 that is a perfect close call
I love it when a bird chopper comes down
RIP the crops that got flattened by those turbines.
Yeah if i was the farmer I'd be telling them to come back between harvest and the next planting.
Usually the farmers get compensated for that. But also the farmers get a yearly cut too from the companies allowing them to put the turbines on their farms in the first place. Nice win win.
RIP the turbine too..😉
The crop cost is very minor compared to the potential damage to the combine head from the scattered pieces from the explosion.
Is it true that all this debris was then carted off to landfills? For example The farm of 44 turbines recently retired at the average age of 18 years old. In October of 2016, Xcel Energy plans to dynamite the turbines and cart off the waste to a landfill.
The towers go to the scrapyard and are cut up for scrap. The only thing that goes to the landfill are the blades
Ah yes, clean green energy!!! lol
Why do these turbines need to explode?
I can never understand why they can't just take them apart like they put them together
2:23 oo dat close O_O
Super widok.Wszystkie wiatraki wysadzić.
A step in the right direction.
how confident are you it wont hit the camera
yes
I have never seen this before definitely one of your best videos keep working up so your skills can be more better and more comments
They are the best!! No one can touch them!!
So much for green energy. All those blades go in the landfill. Nice job on felling those ugly things.
The towers go to the scrapyard and are cut up for scrap, the blades go to the landfill however
i now need to know whan a controlled demo is happening in south central texas
Videos are superb, thank you.
awesome! i like it!
Good ideas ;)
Good. Thise eyesores on the landscape need to be demolished and never rebuilt.
Booom!!!!!!
And off to the landfill… None of it can be recycled and they only get kickbacks on new builds.
All of it will get recycled apart from the blades. As of later this year 100% of turbines will be recyclable.

@@snagger2810 Why are the towers destroyed anyway? They can't be very old yet, 10-30 years at most.
Keep going lads, another 10 million to go, someone needs to be accountable for putting this useless contraptions up
They all need to come down- permanently.
Let's get rid of those dang wind turbines and stay with that good, stinky and pollutin' COAL!
Timmmmberrrrrr!!xx
Felling on farmer's crops? Now CDI has to pay the farmers for the damages and loss of the crops. More likely $2,500+ values!
boom turbine

Yes they were compensated

Glad to see the bird chopper's whear thay belong
the funny thing, this happened half an hour from me! i’ve taken videos of the fully repowered turbines!!
me: "i hope no crops were damaged in the demolition of.................. damnit!!!"
Damn shame what they did to all that corn.
The farmers were compensated

nice
Sounds like a Killdeer is celebrating the downing of the windmill....
And off to landfill,So not eco friendly really....

Pretty bad that the environments going to have to eat it for the simple fact you can't recycle fiberglass

These wind turbines are fairly new. How old are the smokestacks? Exactly
23:37
In twenty years a bunch of work 🤣
Good riddance.... This needs to happen to all of them.
This should be done to all of those bird killing wastes of money!
AMused by how many of the turbines in the backjground are not spinning.
I stand corrected. They are good for something after all, blowing up.
Why? Why? Can't you just dismantle it and sell it? Is there no market for it In Amerika. So many questions.
Why? Are we being shammed out of our tax dollars again?
That.
And your profile pic is funny
it's been replaced with larger and better turbines
