Is the person recording reading these comments? If so, I would recommend against recording over those tapes. It's likely that they're a copy of a film that just happens to have a lot of darkness in them. (Particularly about half an hour worth towards the end, if you catch my reference)

The character recording the video appears to be the character in the book Johnny Truant. I haven't read the book yet, but I plan to soon.
