    Great Videos..
I'm just starting to learn about gold prospecting.
I dont have anything as of yet but am looking to start buy tools and equipment. Looking at the Goldbug 2 or Goldbug pro.🤔
What video cameras do you use?
I really like how you set them up when you're just by yourself on these adventures.
Thanks for all the good videos and tips on gold hunting. 👍

Pretty awesome way to prospect. A good way to use motorcycles and goldmine. Nice bedrock area too! That's a damn nice pan on your small amount of sand.that rear wheel needs to pivots if you bolted to the rear axles. I think anytime you turn it wants to skid timthe side. I used to gold mine down on the feather river.

Ive paked in on a bike and almost have to set your pack low enough to sit on your seat. Hard to do it and keep it tightly stable on yourself but very helpful on your body.

Really liked your documentary. As a fellow biker and prospector I'd like to offer a few suggestions that you might find useful. first I know how much you enjoy your dirt bike but for the prospecting you might want to look in to a 4x4 quad or even a Polaris ranger. the ranger would be ideal for getting you and all your gear in and out of a lot of the locations your going to. Second I'm wondering why you haven't invested in a small dredge like a backpackers dredge you can find them on Keene mining equipment web site. I bought my first gold pan at the county fair grounds in Grass valley CA. back in the 80's after seeing a demo. I was hooked quit my job took off in to the wild totally unprepared with a backpack tent gold pan and a 3 day supply of caned baked beans and my sleeping bag. The people I bought my pan from suggested I start my prospecting adventure in Auburn, CA after hiking down an old camp trail to the river for half a day I finally got to the river only to find 4 guys face down in the river with wet suits on hugging a dredge. when they saw me we talked for a bit they gave me suggestions where to pan with out getting sucked down stream by the current and off I wet to find my fortune. the first day spent clearing big boulders. the second day panning and finding nothing. it was fall and getting colder with each passing night. by noon time the third day I had had enough I packed up everything and pulled out of the area. I did go up the high way a bit further to Truckee, CA where I did happen to find a stream that ran down in to the woods about a couple hundred yards and than in to a hole in the ground. I played in that stream for a couple of hours and I did find gold not much but enough to keep me hooked. I'm originally from Maine and I've found gold there as well. I now live in North Carolina and still have my pan ( and a few more tools also.) and one day I may get back in to prospecting again.

Andy Sjostrom thanks for the support, check out my other videos and I'm releasing another this evening. Ive purchased a side by side like you describe and it is great! I'd love to dredge bit it is currently illegal to dredge in Ca unfortunately. Many areas that aren't claimed are also hands and pans.

Hi, why do you put key tabs on your pans and classifier? I have put stickers on the bottom of mine, just in case i put it down around green and brown stuff. I love the rail spike idea. Self sealing tire fluid will make your trailer tire last longer. Any good bike store will carry it. That flower is a Tiger lilly Loved your adventure!

I understand you cannot put every bit of footage in this documentary so don't take my questions as negative. Maybe you did do what I'm going to ask, it just never made it in the final cut. Question is, if you depleted the good gold area and had issues finding more did you guys test pan your entire claim? or as much as possible? Now I am only 2/3 into the deal so maybe its going to come up or I missed it as I have been staining a shelf as I have been watching/listening. Also it's definitely a learning curve every area you prospect in. it might be something that you did in the beginning when you didn't get as much footage.

I have yet to fish at the huge swimming hole area, I assume thats where your talking about. I see fish but they are mostly Sacramento pikeminnow and not trout. The trout are there but surprisingly I have seen very few underwater.

Good video. It's easier to make shorter videos between 2 & 20 minutes long. Leaning towards the shorter when possible for the viewer. You said this was your first and my first was about the same, but now I go for shorter if possible :)Reed

Reed Lukens I enjoy both short and long. It's cool to see his whole season in one video. For instance, I watch Gooses' videos every week as I am scrolling through UA-cam. With this one, I sat down with some food last night and watches it like I would a movie or other doc.

    • @californiamotherlodeprospect

Thanks Reed, I love your videos I watched a lot of them, started with some of your dowsing videos, good stuff got me into it. I had intentions to do 20 min episodes and my have a few in the future, I just started off on the wrong foot as far as production goes I gradually took it more seriously and put forth more effort so for it all to make more sense I decide to do this one this way and I think it turned out ok after all.

At 42:20, you were looking at how the rocks were laying, those were hand tossed from the dredging days. That was another 20 minutes, hopefully I can watch the rest tomorrow because even being retired has some limitations :)
