I know it won't make you feel better, but you aren't the only one that has made an Oooops like this. --- BTDT. (Hey, you will be a designated rivet removal expert at your airport ---- look at the bright side)
I feel your pain. Just squeezed the rivets for the gap seal to the skin today and realized when I finished most of them on the left didn’t sit flush so yeah I need to start drilling.
Chris, I am glad you are back to work on your airplane. I have moved on from the wings to the fuselage and am working on the Electric Trim. I spent an hour trying to find a part. Don't bother looking for part WD-807E shown on DWG OP-1. Look on the WD-807 Control Column, it has been welded there from the factory. (That would be nice to know on these plans that were dated back in 04/2000. AND the instruction sheet dated 10/30/2012.)
Hey Chris! So glad your back ! Quick one, are you actually making any money from this channel yet? - can just be a yes / no answer. Curious. Looking for more reasons to start building haha. Keep well
Hi! Sorry. I thought I sent a response to this earlier. I’m not monetized yet. I’ve hit the subscriber benchmark, but my total watch time in the prior rolling 12 months fell below the required 4000 hours due to my long absence. I’ll probably be monetized in the next few months, but I don’t anticipate more than a few pennies here and there. I think we’d need a few hundred thousand more people intensely curious about Vans RV-8 construction before a channel like mine could make money. 😂
good lesson for everyone! I glad that you not hiding the issues on your way.
Always!

Still haven’t become expert at cleanly removing those long rivets… Not sure I wan to do enough to get good at those.

Oof
I’ve done crap like that too. It’s all okay. Shit happens. Also, I’ve learned that cherry pull rivets are your friend at times
Thanks. I'm educating myself on cherry max rivets and I'll be picking up a handful of various sizes shortly to solve some of this little problems.
It’s definitely not always a linear path to the finish with these things, is it?
Glad you’re back to forward progress!
Thanks, Ryan. Hopefully no more of this “two steps forward, two steps back” business for a while. Just my usual “two steps forward, one step back”.
@ steps forward > steps back (at all times)! 😂

Dang. I've run into the problem of outdated plans a couple of times. Congrats on your progress!
