    Probably my favorite version of the Biddle I've seen. I prefer the idea of handing the spectator the first half of the deck then putting the rest of the cards on top. Holding the cards distracts them a bit but also welcomes them into the performance as your trust them with your props. Then they can spread the cards at the end and reveal for themselves. Loved the mentalism aspect, tho. I've never seen that connected to the Biddle trick

    This is my go to impromptu effect! A nice justification for placing the packet on the table is to explain to them that you have no idea what the card is, but you have an idea of where it is. “I know it’s not on top so I can take away a few of these cards. I know it’s not on bottom so I can remove these as well”.
    Not only does this make sense, but you’re putting cards on the table for a reason. Just a little touch I’ve found effective after performing this thousands of times. There will be those people who ask you why you’re putting down half of the deck.
    Anyway, nice tutorial, Alex!

      @SeanDevine 4 роки тому

      @James Watts nice!! A nice touch would be for them to cut the deck. Then pretend to sense which half it's in. A bonus effect!

    Excellent tutorial, thanks so much!
    One thing I added is, after I know their card and it's "lost" in the deck, I cut the deck and "psychically" figuring out which half their card is in, and put that half face down on the table. I tell them I'm narrowing it down, but really I'm justifying why I put half the cards down. I then go on to do the 5 cards out-jogged, and go on from there.

    I like to go trough the deck in the beginning and then put down half saying: i dont think your card i here. This give me a reason to put half of the cards down. I think thats a good Idea. Try it. Its fun!!!

    Can you think of a justification for only setting half the deck down? Other than that this is a very good trick.
    Never mind. I figured it out. Do the biddle move with the full deck and set it down. Then do a turnover pass to reveal the facedown card in the middle. Feels very natural.

    How does the part where he counts 4 as 5 work? I looked up tutorials for the Elmsley count and it only shows how to hide a card.

    • @wilber1982
      @wilber1982 5 років тому +1

      Hi, the elmsley count for the most part is used to hide the third card but the point is your returning the first card to the pile your counting from and just not pushing over two cards, basically your not trying to conceal a card just trying to make it appear there is an extra one.
      Hope that makes sense

    Amazing Tutorial as always, Alex! I struggle with a case, where the spectator card - when I out-jag them - is at the bottom of the deck (faces up) when I do it. As I should have it as the second card out of the 5, it would be either strange or even impossible to make him the second card.
    How would you solve such a case?
    Thanks for the amazing tutorials!

    • @martilopez261
      @martilopez261 Рік тому +1

      1: it's a really rare case tho, so don't worry dude
      2: well just take the 5 cards (with theirs) and since their card is not in the correct position, literally move it. Grab the cards as you say like "i dunno, it's harder than it looks like ya know" as you say this move the 5 cards in your hands placing their card second. Or you could just cut the deck a few times by swing cutting as you say "al right the devk is shuffled"
      3: yes it took me a year to answer you (if you respond I'll be like really amazed)
