It’s been like that for a while. Yeah this is really hard to understand. People from like 13-17 are too yound and then 20-30 is too old. When are you supposed to debut then? You have only three years time to do that to keep you netizens happy.
For the last one, some netizens don't understand that if the age gap between the other members is apparently bc a certain member is "way too old" or "way too young" is awkward that's between them and their group members it literally has nothing to do with them 💀
I don't think the hate is that big when it comes to age though, more of a sort of uncomfortability. Like, middle-schoolers are suddenly debuting all over the place yk :)
its actually insane bc the brunt of the criticism should be at the company for debuting a child, not the child themselves!!!! They are just trying to chase their dreams, the actual adults with fully formed frontal lobes should have thought it through more.
I'm afraid that there's no rule about age limits in entertainment industry. Sad or not, that is the truth. Some people are just couldn't comprehend that Idols can be younger or older than them. Can't see them in the Idols?! Isn't that more of their problems and not the Idols themselves?! With the amount of Groups debuting each months, they can easily find something that more attuned to them instead of forcing themselves to like or hate others who differs from them.
-parkbom and sandara debut at age 25 -xiumin exo was 23 when he filmed as highschool student in growl -They need to be aware that hui is in pentagon and yujin was once in clc. It isn't their fault if they want to still be in this industry. What to concern is debut idols at very young age but it's their choice anyway
people treat minor idols as if they don't know what they are doing or like as if the idol is being forced to debut (I'm a minor so that how i see people treating them like, as if we can't think for ourselves) but i don't think that's the case if they become trainees that means that they do want to debut. So people treating them like that, doesn't feel fair to the idol at all, but i still understand the worry for minor idols, anyone would and saying that someone is too old to be an idol is stupid because what being an idol basically is, is to sing, dance, perform for the people... being too old to sing on a stage... really?? and so what if they debut with younger people i don't see any problems, they can still work together as a team, sound like they are trying to segregate by age. Leave everyone alone to achieve their dreams, that's it
Okay, but the Yunah one isn't wrong All the members have baby like faces While her face just looks more mature Its not to do with her age but she just looks like the odd one out

Irene looks great for someone 30 and even so I don’t think she’s old at all. But I do question those that are debuting at age 11-14, are they ok living without their parents?
I understand the concerns with the younger idols, but who cares how old the older ones are? Tho i agree with the Hui part. Dara and Bom of 2ne1 both were 25 when they debuted. BEG all were adults and people still loved them. People say that antis and the hate issues are not as severe as they used to be back in the day, but for me it seems like it's gradually becoming worse and worse. Idols are bullied for no apparent reason, just for being humans and wanting any sort of private life. And it's really sad seeing how companies go along with absolutely absurd demands rather than defending their own artists.
Bro the group UNIS debuted a member of year 2012 who is currently 13 but at debut was of 12 years... ☠️ I mean its concerning now... These kids won't be able to face the backlash by haters
I don't see many people (at least, not just mindless haters) criticise minors for debuting so much as criticise the company that debuts them without any help or support to help with things ex-child idols say they struggled with
I don't like when they debut minors due to how tough the industry is. But 20-40 isn't "too old". These same netizens will also complain that there isn't more adult-ish concepts/ music in K-pop, I mean when you debut minors, what do you expect? They gotta keep the song, dance, etc. age appropriate.
notice how it's mostly women who are criticized, minors getting criticized for their age is valid for me, bcs there's creepy people out there and Kpop industry is so cruel, although it's not their fault and the one who should be criticized is the company, not the idols, but it's still valid for me as long as it doesn't go overboard (like hating on the idol or giving threats to them), but the way that most of the idols who are criticized for being "too old" are women shows that ageism mostly affects women.
Yunah and Wonhee/Iroha have a 4 year age gap, that's a normal amoujt for people to even just be hanging out or close friends, like in theory they could go to highschool together, that's not a weird age gap for group members even Lesserfim has a way bigger age gap for there group members (no hate towards them either ofc, just pointing out to show how insignificant ILLITs age gap is)
Then we got Unis with a 13 years old and 22 years old together in 1 group LOL people love hating idols for their age. I get that debuting minors isn't a good thing but hating idols who debuts at 20 and older is crazy.
I completely agree with debuting minor esp idol under 18 yrs old. Most of them are not fully developed their talent yet, they need to finish their studies, overall they're too young to deal with ugly truth in kpop, like bodyshaming, hate comment, strict diet, irregular sleep schedule, etc etc. That's why i would not support minor group like newjeans until all of them are above 18, no matter how much i love their songs. But critize idol for being too old?? Doesn't make any sense to me. Yes, they couldn't do some concept like cute or school girl concept, but there's ton of concept they could do. There's no reason to critize them for their age
I have 0 criticism regarding age for the idols themselves, it’s normal for teenagers to have dreams and want to do something. My anger is entirely directed at the companies debuting the idols and putting so much unhealthy expected on them and profiting off of sexualizing them.
16 is perfectly fine to debut an idol considering thats the age most teens get jobs, they just have to give them an appropriate concept. i think people don't like Wonhee because they think runext was rigged.
Definitely don't think an industry should have kids performing in grueling groups. Even 18 is super young but at least they're somewhat adults in the eyes of many laws. 14 is literally still a child.

Yeah this is really hard to understand. People from like 13-17 are too yound and then 20-30 is too old. When are you supposed to debut then? You have only three years time to do that to keep you netizens happy.
This says a lot about the mindset of the industry
Messed up that people think idols in their 20s is too old lmao, always thought it was the ideal age to debut
Young idols(14-16):hate to company
Adult idols (18-20+):hate to company
Like wut are they supposed to do🥴
For the last one, some netizens don't understand that if the age gap between the other members is apparently bc a certain member is "way too old" or "way too young" is awkward that's between them and their group members it literally has nothing to do with them 💀
I don't think the hate is that big when it comes to age though, more of a sort of uncomfortability.
I feel bad for these people getting hate, especially Hyein 😢❤
So basically they're trying to say is
We should debut...a skeleton and a pixar mom shape girls.
Debuting minors can be problematic but any adult who is in their prime is perfectly fine
If 20 is old then I don’t even wanna know what bangchan is
They probally want kpop company to debut a grandparents
I think the debut age should be at least 18-20, especially with uncle/noona fans…
-parkbom and sandara debut at age 25
-xiumin exo was 23 when he filmed as highschool student in growl
-They need to be aware that hui is in pentagon and yujin was once in clc.
Leave everyone alone to achieve their dreams, that's it
it's my humble opinion so I understand if you don't agree, which is totally okay i just see it that way, excuse any mistakes
Okay, but the Yunah one isn't wrong
All the members have baby like faces
While her face just looks more mature
Its not to do with her age but she just looks like the odd one out
Yunah fits perfectly
That’s literally saying she old but not very noticeable way but in a nice way
@@Heyitsgeorgiaxsno, she's not old, she actually look like her age, that why it's weird, bc the concept it's really childish anyway, but since the others looks younger she's the only one who looks out
@@anderramirez8433 the concept isn’t childish . Sm first grp did similar concept and they were older than 20 . It all depends of age genes and visual
@@Heyitsgeorgiaxs I'm sure they were 18, still they looked a little weird back then, except that they weren't dressing doll like, like illit is doing sometimes
Is so funny in one group they are criticised for both too old and too young
This is a nice way to explain double standards 😂😂
For some kids, being 16 and debuting isn’t bad it’s when they are younger than that that I hunk there should really be a line
Imagine hating on a child for debuting. Nah nah, hate on the parents who signed the contracts in their child's name and the company who preys on children to exploit and make money with instead 🥰
Hui and Irene hot elders 🔥
Irene looks great for someone 30 and even so I don’t think she’s old at all. But I do question those that are debuting at age 11-14, are they ok living without their parents?
It’s the parents that sign the contract, so they probably have some type of agreement.
I mean its concerning now...
These kids won't be able to face the backlash by haters
Wendy and Seulgi are 30.
Irene is 33.
PPl thinking 20 YO is old is WILDDDDD
Most of the time hybe ent. Debut so young menber and then give them music which are for adults or dances steps ( like smart by LE SIRRAMFIM)
I want Knetizens to wake up and stop criticizing idols or ending their careers for dumbest reasons.
Then we have Seowon from UNIS who just debuted at 13 yr old and she’s only receiving love.
people are so blind to older generations. a lot of people in 3rd gen are 30+... i dont understand why irene is a target
Basically knetizens don’t want “old” idols
International netizens don’t want “younger” idols 🙄
Haters are jobless
What do they want to happen, as soon as they turn 26 they just fuck off into obscurity?
Im stating to think kpop companies are debuting more minors bc koreas population might or might not go extinct in a few decades
Amidst Netizens' harsh comments,I must say Irene looked gorgeous in that clip❤
NIKI also
notice how it's mostly women who are criticized, minors getting criticized for their age is valid for me, bcs there's creepy people out there and Kpop industry is so cruel, although it's not their fault and the one who should be criticized is the company, not the idols, but it's still valid for me as long as it doesn't go overboard (like hating on the idol or giving threats to them), but the way that most of the idols who are criticized for being "too old" are women shows that ageism mostly affects women.
Yunah and Wonhee/Iroha have a 4 year age gap, that's a normal amoujt for people to even just be hanging out or close friends, like in theory they could go to highschool together, that's not a weird age gap for group members even Lesserfim has a way bigger age gap for there group members (no hate towards them either ofc, just pointing out to show how insignificant ILLITs age gap is)
People should realize that 20 is NOT that old
Then we got Unis with a 13 years old and 22 years old together in 1 group LOL people love hating idols for their age. I get that debuting minors isn't a good thing but hating idols who debuts at 20 and older is crazy.
Bruh yoon jisung participated produce 101 s2 around hui's age tho and still slayed (i dont remember his age at that time)
What is the problem? Niki of enhypen is 19 this year but currently 18, he was around 15 during their debut year..
Seowon from Unis
u forgot to add chan.... seungmin always critize him for being old😔😔
Does everyone forget Taemin debuted at 14? Support idols of any age!!!
Definitely don't think an industry should have kids performing in grueling groups. Even 18 is super young but at least they're somewhat adults in the eyes of many laws. 14 is literally still a child.
I mean Seowon debut at 12 and she's 13 now 😭✋at first when I found out Seowon was the same age as me I was shocked but her talent is amazing
