We used to buy cheap cola soda and fill a pan with it. Soak your rusty tools in it overnight. Rinse with water, wipe dry, spray a light oil (rust preventative) on the tools and you’re all set.
Would like to know how a mechanic can dissolve rust from nuts and bolts so they can replace parts on vehicles from rust prone areas. Is there such a mixture?
Wipe down with a light oil. Keep chalk in your tool drawers to keep the moisture content to a minimum. Instead of chalk, there's a wax (I forgot the name of it) that will do the same thing as the chalk, but last longer.
They're probably all new tools and they sprayed them with some acidic liquid and let them sit to rust them. Other youtubers do that as well to test rust removers.
This couldn't have been more timely as I have a project that needs rust removed. Plus, Jackie is charming!
Wow! I was not expecting that. If anything, I figured the baking soda would be the worst. Impressive how well the store bought solution worked!

What do you suggest for using to get rid of rust and a cast-iron frying pan or a Dutch oven?
Excellent work, hints and tips. Thank you so much for the information and much needed alternative cleaners. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾

Cake icing can remove rust?
Baking soda will work better if a cloth is saturated and wrapped around the tool. 😊
Better as in stronger? It already ate in to the metal
YAY JACKIE 🫶🏼

How to remove moss from a roof shed or house
Does the Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver have a smell to it? I have used Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser and the smell of it is unpleasant.
Let's see how well each solution works on a 30 year old rusty truck frame for a real test!
This is awesome seriously adorable
😂😂 that's not rust, it's just paint made to look like rust.😂😂
The saw was the only tool with actual rust! Ain't no way that store spray going to make that chrome look brand new!

Maybe if you would have wiped it instead of brushing it maybe that would have been better
So in all fairness, it’s not 30 minutes it’s something that takes over 24 hours.
I left tools sitting in tote of water rained in it
Next time use real rusted tools instead of fabricated stuff.
Don't use the DIY stuff!!! Use this $20 store spray instead! 🤦
