Game Grumps are:
Arin ► / egoraptor
Danny ► / ninjasexparty
#TurnipBoy #TaxEvasion #LovelyChoices
I learned something today. You can either have Arin play an action based game or a text based game. But not both
*bolth
He once did mention that he doesn't like DND cause it mixes combat and roleplay elements, and I suppose he doesn't like changing game formats mid-game. I'm sure it makes sense to him...
I like the episode where the game tells Arin what to do but he didn’t pay attention so he wanders around for a looooong time
That's like, 70% of episodes
That's just every Game Grumps episode ever.
@@taraking3207 Though the start of the second chapter of Danganronpa 2 deserves a special mention.
So, like all of them
I love gg but this is definitely the most frustrating aspect of it u_u
Yes the return of smiling Arin turnip. Gonna eat my teeth rn
Stay in school
Don't do drugs
Eat your teeth
What a call-back!
Bone appetite
This is a reference I don’t understand :(
I was so hoping to see this comment!😂
I love Dan's obsession with the phonebook bit. And he always quotes it wrong, but his misquote became the better known version of it. Arin actually says "I'm not tellin'," but Dan's "I'll never tell >:)" just stuck better.
Oh no, one of my favorite games. I'm sure Arin will respect the rules and read all text carefully to fully enjoy the experience and the fun world.
And know that he can quick change his equipment with the bumpers
"Welcome to my sub shop, home of the Tier 3 sub."
"I'm a streamer who only talks to those who give me a Tier 3 sub."
Arin: How could I possibly know what to do next!?
🤣
Yeeeaaaaahhhh.... Partially the perils of having to be entertaining, partially the perils of being Arin and Danny.
*Mom voice* ... Arin.
it was a dumb pun that went over my head.
Title did not disappoint, Arin did in fact beat box
Days without Arin beatboxing: 0
Shouldn't it be beet box
@@marissamason596 ooh good catch! didn't think of that lol
Days without Arin "beet"-boxing: 0
@@marissamason596 ayeeee 🤜🏼🤛🏼
😎
Beatboxing puppy 🙂
I believe this is the fourth time that Dan has reminded Arin about “ripping the phonebook in half” and it causing him to laugh.
_I'll_ never tell!
So now we’re at 4 times for “ripping a phonebook apart” and 2 times for “do you think Sonic shits?”
21:55 Apparently the fourth time was during Gal Gun 2 part 3, so this time would be the fifth.
"I like the episode where Arin ignores clear directions and Dan just watches him struggle for a looooong time."
So like... every episode?
"Billy you're gonna have to be WAAAAY more specific there."
"do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"
😂
I thought Dan was exaggerating when he said Pickle Rick was "so 5 years ago" but he was actually underestimating. The original air date for the Pickle Rick episode of Rick and Morty was 6th August, 2017.
.... I was thinking "more like 8 years" but damn I didn't want it to be true
do you have any idea how little that narrows it down? 😂😂😂😂😂
*Speeds through intro quest text that says kill animals in a specific spot for fertilizer*
"Okay I need fertilizer, how do I get fertilizer"
"'EYYY, Lemon! What's goin' on?"
"Uh, nuthin', just talkin' w/ my new buddy Turnip"
"Oh neat!"
"Yeah, tell 'im sumthin' cool about yourself, Turnip"
*"I don't pay taxes"*
Not paying taxes is pretty cool tbh.
“That uh…that wasn’t a good story.”
I imagine Lemon's "ol' lady" who left him the watering can is Bill...
I hope they finish. “Thank goodness you’re here”
Yes please!!! Engaging so they'll hopefully see this comment and do it! ❤
Doubt. It has instructions, isn't a goth anime sim, requires an attention span and memory retention. Not a GG kinda game.
@@joshconfer209harsh but,,, yeah i 100% agree
I hope you guys consider finishing this one! It's not a super long game, but it really is charming! I played it a while ago and loved it, glad to see it was a Lovelies Choice!
Turnip Boy is the definition of “no thoughts, head empty”
No thoughts, head empty, taxes evaded.
Arin forgetting the tier 3 sub pun within five minutes then running straight past the one guy he needs to talk to while retracing his steps is peak game grumps
This is me letting you know. I would love to see more of this silly little turnip ❤
I am letting you know, per your request at specific time 27:10, that I would like to see it more.
i like the episode where arin is audibly bored and impatient for a loooooong time
All of them?
15:06 Oh no. He didn't get the sub joke. He's going to have to stumble upon the correct npc again isn't he?
I get the distinct impression that Arin does not appreciate meta humor lol
"Use your head man. Otherwise Jerry died for nothing."
Good ol' Smiling Arin Turnip. Reminding you to stay in school, eat your teeth, and evade your taxes. We could all learn a thing or two from Arin Turnip.
That aside, this is a fun and relatively short game with a fun sequel, too. I think it goes against Arin's gameplay style of just kinda rushing through, because they do expect you to talk to everyone a few times. But it's got a lot of fun dialog and jokes to make up for it.
.... Arnip?
Arin remembering where he got the sword but instantly does Not remember the Tier 3 sub guy is typical arin.
0:30 the Grinch had 2 adoptive mothers in the Jim Carrey movie!
I mean that's why he said mothers.
@CalebCross253 Yes, the boys just reacted like it was new information to them.
Peak
Arin remembering Bullet and Lemon brings me joy.
Still doesn’t remember his own name though
Ah yes, I remember Citrus & Bullet. Famous flash cartoon by Aaron Handsom.
consume prilosec. it’ll bring you joy
I am so so glad you're finally playing this game I've been thinking for months how this would be the perfect game for this channel!
I really hope you guys continue this one, it's really cute and full of silly references
8:28 glad the joke went right over Dan’s head lol
Ooo, for a second I thought they were playing the sequel because I THOUGHT they already played this one, but I forgot the sequel is robbing a bank, not tax evasion...
Oh well, still gonna be a BLAST watching them play this.
GameGrumps Lunch Break Chronicles, Day 396:
Got the day off, spending the day in town and got my usual beef burrito with an iced orange Fanta. Hell yeah. 10/10. Absolutely goated burrito. I was very hungry lol
Please never stop (unless you want to) because your lunch time comment makes me so happy everytime. (๑>◡
Yo I also had the day off. Production got ahead of ordering.
I for one would LOVE to have the boys continue to play this. There is some dialogue in this game that i know they would absolutely love to narrate
The return of Smiling Arin Turnip!
eat your teeth
3:00 That "Mega meow" surprised me so much xD it felt like a whole different person poped out of nowhere
You HAVE to play more of this, you haven't even scratched the surface of how good it is!
I used "ill never tell" in that tone on a group of coworkers and they loved me ever since 22:00
It has been 0 days since Arin beatboxed
• Stay in school!
• Don't do drugs!
• *Eat your teeth*
8:00 aww... They didn't notice that guys hat said GG😭🤣
This!!! I was like please notice it! It's even the Buy & Leave blue!
It's a shame, knowing they're not going to come back to this game and finish it. This game gets surprisingly dark and weird towards the end. Also, it's just really funny, as if you couldn't immediately tell where this game is at in terms of its humor. :P
(PS, still would like the Grumps to go back to Pizza Tower)
I didn't expect this game to be one of those lol. I hope they play some more of it.
@@sleepyote Well, to be fair, I'm just making an assumption based on how they usually go about games like this, games a lot of people want to see them play, play it for one or two episodes, and then drop it, never to touch it again. They very well could continue this game, but I'm not holding my breath that they well.
@@Rubberman202 I mean I didn't think this was one of those games that look cute, but get dark later.
@@Rubberman202 They'll probably continue if this vid gets enough views and likes. Also, Turnip Boy is a short enough game so they wouldn't need to spend more than 5 or so episodes beating it.
I feel as though a lot of the humor may be lost, or the game may be frustrating to watch, since Arin seems to have a lot of resistance to returning to characters he's spoken with before. It seems like he's naturally inclined to assume everything in a game is used only once.
Did people vote for a game where Arin needs to read and retain information?? Of course he would never leave the starting area 😂
The patrons have to have known this is how this game would go, lol!
I've 100%ed this game it is so incredibly straightforward and pretty short these boys are genuinely past saving
Y’all could finish this game in a few episodes, it’s pretty short. Worth it too! You haven’t even seen how crazy it gets
I love the Friday slot being used for suggestions
Never expected Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion to be the supreme ultimate test of Game Grumps’ voice acting chops.
Yes! This game is really putting the Grumps through the total collection of their goofy voices
The ending credits theme on this game is just *chef’s kiss*
if only there was a dude selling tier 3 subs wishing for a livestreaming collab to boost sells
16:30 the way we all said the same quote at the same time XD
I nearly choked on my pasta laughing.
i was looking for someone else who’d shared the experience 😭 for that moment i felt truly connected to these sweet boys
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who watched Beakman's World. I even wrote into the show with a question about fireflies
Lemon and Bill was the first of Arin's videos I ever watched. Hearing him do that voice brought me WAAAAY back.
i hope you continue the many many antics of turnip boy. this was medicinal to watch.
I genuinely feel like Arin is going to adore this game once it gets going
god I hope they will consider finishing this one, it’s such a charming little indie game
A 2D game about a turnip commiting tax evasion. Finally a game i can relate to
Hearing Arin do his Lemon voice again made me really happy. 😊 🍋
Just as turnip boy evades taxes, (a necessary evil), the video game boy has evaded the tutorial.
I hate cheetos, but all my friends love them, more than anything. I’m having a party this afternoon.
Do I:
(A) put out a bowl of cheetos so my friends will be happy, regardless of what I think that bowl should be filled with?
(B) put out a bowl of Doritos and hope it’s good enough
Or
(C) put out an empty bowl and then die on the hill that if the party was designed properly we shouldn’t need cheetos, so we’ll have a party every day for 10 years and 1/50 of them will be fun.
I'd say buy two bowls and put the cheetos in one and the doritod in the other or buy a whole different type of chip so now both you *and* your friends have to adapt and try new things :]
This game has everything for the grumps: fun gameplay, cute graphics, and plebty of opportunity for silly voices. MORE, PLEASE!
I didn't expect to hear Dan do "uwu" speak lol.
I love how Dan saw a character with buck teeth and gave them a vampire voice
Smiling Arin Turnip has returned ❤ time to eat our teeth
The fact that they added fireflies around the snails is a great detail! Makes me wonder if you'll be able to weaponize them in the future! (fireflies eat snails)
For his neutral special, he wields a gun.
Would LOVE more of this game. I binge played it in an evening and had so much fun with it
Yeeees I'm so excited you're playing this, I love this game! Please continue!
This game is such a weird combination of extremely cute aesthetic with things that make me feel guilty like ripping up the letter and killing Jerry, who was going to pay his rent.
it's so cute that Dan doesn't get the "funniest shit i've ever seen" reference and just took it sincerely
18:07 arin’s delivery was very reminiscent of marlin arguing with nemo about exploring the ocean lol
Ah an appropriate time during tax season.
You guys should keep playing it! The lore gets very good
"Why are there so many characters?! What is this? Talking simulator?!"
God forbid a game have a vibrant world with a variety of characters with fun dialogue.
I remember when my jury summons was signed off with "Sincerely, *The Government"*
Wonder why I never could like the guy
9:57 But if they're food then wouldn't saying "cool beans" be the equivalent of us saying something like "Cool asians" or "Cool canadians" i wonder if the beans are the most powerful people in that town so they demand for everyone to call them cool from time to time. Aw nvm the Onion is the mayor
...I'll be honest, I thought "Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion" was their joke name for the video; I was not expecting it to be the actual name of the game lol.
The sequel is called "Turnip Boy robs a bank!"
I hope they finish this, it's really short
I hope they finish this game! It’s not too hard and the characters are soooo cute~ the musics really good too! C:
I love Lovelies Choice episodes.
I don't like them very much tbh
The impression I get is that the fans don't really think too much about which games would be entertaining, just "Which games my parasocial version of these two would enjoy", and then get frustrated when they don't play the game right.
This game, for instance, is very very talky and I was getting bored with it by the end. I could play it myself, but it's not good for GG.
@@LoganCrazyBoy well i guess you're left with a choice: what you're gonna walk away from this content with. You're already aware of what happens inevitably each time they do the Lovelies Choice: people get pissy when they dont play it right; don't take it seriously; etc. I am too, I just try and enjoy the content for the sake of entertainment (and it usually works lol). But chiefly, the gamers like you in the audience can watch a lil bit (maybe not all of it), get bored and go "maybe I'd play this on my own," and still (maybe) get your entertainment yeah? And that discovery of your preference can be what you gained from the content. No judgment of course, happy to converse.
@@Just_The_Krust Honestly I wish they'd play Alan Wake 2 only for the musical scene, but even then that is way too deep into the game for them to reach it in one episode
Arin doing his lemon impersonation from his old animation. 🤣
The fanfiction is going to finally convince me to get the patreon lol
Do it.
It’s worth it, I promise lol
The update is that I did it and am currently listening to sonic high school
I have never heard of this game before but just going by the title alone, it sounds _incredible_
I love how they voice each character! What a fun silly game. Hope they come back and play it again someday!
Thank you to the lovelies that suggested Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion! Truly the loveliest for making this part of Game Grumps history. (Also because Arin Turnip is such an old reference, what a co-inky-dink~)
My dad used to rip phone books in half. He told me a long time ago the trick is to twist while you try to rip it.
ya'll would love this full game. i would LOVE to see you go through it; i've played the whole thing and it's simple but gets a lot better. my vote for a series definitely
I like when they play games that I’ve purchased but haven’t played yet. It’s like I’m playing it myself, but with 100% more beatboxing.
You've gotta play it!
Arin: *talks to everyone*
Also Arin: "Why is there so much talking in this game?"
Dan & Arin: missed the tier 3 sub joke at the sandwich shop
Note to Dan: start keeping a little notebook on the couch for when Arin gets told what to do and 10 seconds later forgets what to do xD
This game has the best lore reveal I beg you to finish it 😖
8:10Dude pickle rick came out like 8 years ago and thei just now talking about it😂😂
"I'll never tell" has become such a normal part of my everyday speak that I was actually surprised to hear where it came from
They don't know what chitin is. It is what a insect exoskeleton is made of.
And that it's pronounced kite-in
Or shit in
Arin's soil sword would probably turnip to be even more dangerous to the Jerry Snails (or Smiths) of the world than that Pickle Rick episode if Arin dressed up as Turnip Boy in order to hide the taxable income that he made from his pickle-superior turnip-themed inventions but refused to report to the government.
I’m loving all of the Link to the Past similarities
Play this game and its sequel Turnip Boy Robs a Bank.
The grinch and their adoptive mothers 😂
It is canon some stories they got two adoptive elderly moms.
@@ClownHoundII I know it's not, but I wish the Tony being talked about was Tony Stark.
Just think how romantic it would be for them to both be building wild contraptions out of trash in the Grich's ice cave.
@@AgentTexes "My heart can't grow three times its size because of all the shrapnel"

"Dude have you ever heard of Rick and Morty?!"
"Uh, yeah?"
Great stuff guys
Please play more, I just played it and finished it for the first time. I think yous will really enjoy the end. It's very good game
I can't believe I got to hear Lemon's voice again! Lemon and Bill bits are my favorite!!!
This game and Ooblets are perfect for these boys. Dan meowing to the Ooblets music would melt the coldest heart. 🎉❤
Arin just finished watching Deep Space Discounts ep 5. was surprised hearing your voice there. good job.
oh man i was drunk outa my ass and when i saw you played turnip boy i was so fucking happy it's like kind of the perfect game for you if it had less text..and like...less "i need to pay the bare minimum attention to the plot" kind of mechanic...but it's so good and im so happy you played it at least once........there's nothing like watching GG while being drunk it's a wonderful feeling
But is turnip boy smiling. Truly all that matters
