Nope. They always downloaded the weapons before the mission phase of the exercise. These aircraft were normally loaded with 12 external cruise missles plus internals. Internal cruise missles on rotary launcher today and SRAM’s on rotary launcher & 4 BDU in the bomb bay back in the 80’s

Did you take this video or is it from the base? It does a good job of showing these two different exercises.

Did my time at Minot in the early 80s, 5th BMW, always loved watching the Buff's.

She is too fat! Especially by military standards!
Those three bombers that took off did not have any missiles mounted to the hard points under the wings like the b52s earlier in the clip.
Internal payload
The reason why no missiles under the wing is because the nukes they are inside and the b-52 can't handle both missiles and nukes at the same time .

Aint nuthin like the Buff. I noticed from "KI Siberia" taking off from "Why Not Minot". The SAC alerts were the good ol days. Then came the Bone.
Those BUFF crews that were in the movie First Strike have to be laughing at this now. standards way down.
Air Force gloves. Enough to make an old soldier weep.

What's up with her hair being down under her helmet ON THE FLIGHTLINE!!!! Maybe it's just because I'm an old schooler ('78 - '82)
The body armor on her shorter frame makes it look much worse than it is.

The response to the bombers remind me of the old alert pad horn that I've done several times.
❤the B-52, but they looked a bit cooler in camo during Vietnam. But still look sleek compared to the WW2 bombers.
