You're never a real UA-cam game essayist until you talk about Spec Ops The Line. Nah, but seriously, every essay channel talks about it. It's practically a rite of passage at this point
at this point i am just looking for whether the essayist focuses on new angle for the game or has new take or whether they rehash whats already been said about it. They are still enjoyable but in different way than when I watched the first spec ops the line essay lol
I absolutely love this game and I never noticed the details like the tree in the beginning of the Gate chapter, really good catch! [EDIT]: Just finished watching, I do think it was a shame you didn't mention the fantastic soundtrack to this game, both in the original score by Elia Cmiral and the licensed tracks the Radioman plays. Genuinely one of the best scores I've ever heard in a game by far. One of the biggest examples to me is in the chapter where you storm the coliseum, where the song "Glasgow Mega Snake" by Mogwai plays. Unlike the rest of the licensed soundtrack where Radioman will usually do a little DJ intro before playing it, that song just plays as soon as you start shooting, and it conveys such a desperate feeling I personally think it's just part of the actual score and conveys the 33rd's absolute desperation to stop you from getting to those trucks. They know full well how valuable they are and what future Dubai could have if Walker and his men get their hands on them, and it's a futile scramble to stop Delta from blowing through everything they have. On first playthrough I thought it was meant to just be a cool action track to add punch to your struggle for the water trucks, but over time I think it's more to symbolise the absolute desperation from the 33rd to keep you from dooming Dubai for good. I don't know, I just love this game, and wanted to share my thoughts on that particular part as it was pretty much glossed over in the video, which is absolutely fine! Great watch from start to finish, great eye with the subtle details like the tree and the posters.
One other thing to remember during the scene with the radio operator, he says they’re live right before Lugo shoots him so the entire city just heard you execute him, then say you’re there to save them.
Damn, I've 100%ed this game and run it through like 5 times, but there are still so many subtle details mentioned in this video that I was not aware of. Great video!
Spent an hour or two listening to "Brothers in Arms" by Dire Straits yesterday, seems somewhat apt to be watching a video about Spec Ops: The Line and thinking about the last lines "We are fools to make war/ On our Brothers in Arms"
Just to let you know people do speak farsi in Dubai it’s a hub with many Middle East and other dialects the other reason is the terrible working conditions they inflict on poor people looking for work
Okay I’m genuinely concerned if I went crazy while playing this game on one go several years back, but I swear to god there’s a third unique game over screen. It’s similar to the first one with Conrad saying “stop, just fucking stop”, but instead it’s a greenish blacked out image of the woman holding her child during the white phosphorus event, and it’s a woman saying it instead of Conrad.
Is this my 31th time watching an Spec Ops The Line essay? Yes
Am I ever bored of it? Never!

A 43 minute video by munt is essentially a youtube short
Time for my monthly Spec Ops: The Line essay. Thank you
The amount of video essays, debates and discussions this game has produced, even after 12 years of its release, is a testament to its quality.
This is the scariest non horror game I've ever played. I feel like everyone who calls themselves a gamer should play this at some point.

I love how many endings are in this game. It's such a mindfudge

To be honest this game is very on the nose with its themes it funny, look at 31:45 for a example
Spec opts the line is a really great game in my opinion
Also max payne 3, darkness 2, kane and Lynch 2 dog days.
@ indeed those games are awesome too
@22:33 why he do lugo dirty like that 😞
I see Spec Ops The Line I click
Yup
Still haven’t played the game still watching the essays though
Disturbing reality of our reality
Tears im here 4 days late😭😭😭
The disturbing reality is that the gameplay is entirely mid and the only reason people play it is because of an interesting twist
You shall not fall off I shall always stay even if I'm the only one there will be me ready to watch more😁✌
