    Katie, you always look stunning. Even so newly PP. I’m a part of the get it all done clubhouse. I would really love a “get ready with me” routine. Just seeing what systems and products you use to look so effortless and put together in such a busy time. That would be so helpful.

    I appreciate your points and have no doubt this proactive approach has helped your family. Wanted to add that sometimes children go through difficult seasons. My oldest went through a season of stubbornness and she was pushing back big time. She was also quite emotional. She’s 6 years old and we sought counsel from parents’ and older friends and stayed very consistent in our approach. We’ve seen God working in her heart and thankfully she’s much softer now to our teaching and correction. We can’t control our children’s hearts. We can be taking a Biblical approach to discipline and training but ultimately God has to produce growth and sometimes that happens in difficult seasons when they don’t behave the way we were hoping they would.

    This episode has been one of the best for me so far. Helpful tips,i like the organized information. Everything sounds so smooth, and i understaffed that this is years of trial and error dvd directions and trying new ways, plus they come from large families that functioned well, so they have a lot of experience to look back at and draw from. I would like to heae more about the difficulties they come across and how they handle it, such as when a Young child refuses to obey altogether and doesnt seem to care about consequences
    Overall, a great episode and thank you.

    So I just love you guys so much! And I think these are really amazing tips. One thing that I have found to be more difficult is that now that my children are teenagers and they are competitive swimmers.
    ALL the communication goes to them on devices. We don't allow our children to walk around with devices even our teenagers. Our son still does not have his own phone and he is 16 years old. However, we have what we call the home phone. We also have an old phone or two that they can check twice a day.
    You are so right with all of these things they can do with their hands and with their brains! Having that combination really helps!
    The eating thing is so good everybody's what Mom and Daddy eats! Even now! And we have kids from 16 down to 1yo.

My husband gets up early for work at 5 am and he is sometimes up and in our room before he even wakes up. Bedsharing with my 6 month old and this is not fun. Im exhausted. We have tried the alarm clocks with lights. He does not care. Anyone have advice? My first just slept natually from 7 to 7 for years, no issues.

    • @hannahthehomesteader
      @hannahthehomesteader 2 дні тому

      The clock with a light works if you train them to obey it. We've also just said "you can't come out until I get you." You can heavily reward obedience and punish disobedience. If I tell my 4 year old the night before that he'll get a treat for obeying in the morning, he's very motivated to obey.

    • @kaylazinkhon6339
      @kaylazinkhon6339 2 дні тому

      @hannahthehomesteader the training did not work..our son also has ADHD so it's a little more difficult than just first time obedience. Not making excuses but in my experience, everything has been harder for him and for us. Like he doesn't associate consequences with an action especially so far away (night to morning). However, we did go pick out another clock this morning and talked about it. He was 3 when we last tried it. So praying this works. 🙏
      Edited to add: I like your idea of rewarding obedience in this instance, though I don't want him to expect it every time. That does work with certain things for him.

    • @GloryMotherhood
      @GloryMotherhood 5 днів тому +8

      It’s usually a heart issue. They’re usually upset about something else feeling unfair to them. Depends on the age of course but I’m referring to younger children. Usually you can give them a hug and just acknowledge their emotion but keep the boundary that we clean up and participate together no matter how we are feeling. I would even incentivize with something they like to motivate them for that day, but not as a regular thing.
