Lionel New Haven EP-5

I was very lucky to find this anew Haven EP-5 and passenger set! When I received the set, I needed to replace bulbs, and the shell wasn’t in great condition. I was also lucky to have found a wonderfully restored shell, and when I put the restored shell with the locomotive it felt a bit like magic!
Tell me what you think about the LED lights inside the locomotive. This is my first time trying them, and while they’re white instead of the more nostalgic yellow incandescent lights put out, I think they look great!
The passenger cars are in wonderful condition, and look great being pulled by the EP-5.

Very nice. Lionel certainly got a lot of mileage out of the tooling for those cars. Nice video.

I agree! The challenge I have is finding O-31-capable New Haven passenger cars. So far I’ve come up dry! My go to are the MTH 60’ cars since they’re highly detailed and will navigate O-31 well! For now, these fit the bill :).

@@cmburkhalter There are always some popping up at places like York. I saw some New Haven stuff at Saline today. I don't run New Haven, so I passed them up.
