This is amazing!! The kangaroos have beautiful voices. Same with Gertrude. Love that trumpet and I don’t see a lot of shows actually using instruments. I do think there is a lack of ensemble. Like the Jungle of Nool didn’t have a ensemble. All of them were named characters. Also I love the set. I think this really great and one of the better musicals and UA-cam.
auditions for this are next week and im auditioning for gertrude. im kinda nervous generally, but im a good singer according to everyone, and my teacher wants me to audition for her, so im gonna. she is such a strong, yet emotional bird and i love her story. wish me luck!! x

@@alexisabot9924 Besides the frequently missed rhythms and notes which are reasonable considering the age range, the player blended very poorly. The director, or even the player, should have realized at some point and fixed them, whether it be playing down an octave or even just playing quieter.
@@balkU1 or, it could just come out louder on the recording, because higher pitched sounds sound more obvious, due to pitch and frequency. Hence why you can't hear the bass at all, or the singing seemed quiet, because they are lower pitched (and definetly have mics). So maybe learn about about sound and recording before being so critical. Especially as they recorded on one mic, so they couldn't mix and balance the instruments. And yes, this is coming from a trumpet player so I know what I'm talking about.

Ironically enough, I was a freshman at that highschool the year we did Seussical, and only got cast because my voice was so high😂 - not a child actor though, unfortunately (although honestly I kind of looked like one). Thank you so much for your kind words, though, I just returned to watching this for the first time in 5 years, and had no clue it had so many views!
I am only watching this so I know what some things are supposed to sound like as I auditioned and got the part of a jungle creature as I am "under aged" for a big role like sour kangaroo or anyone else. However I like my role because my part and the other people with the same part make the story come alive. I have never heard of a jungle that was silent. If you heard the " who who wada who who who wada wada who wada who who", I have to do that. Its fun. When we were first learning that part we would go too long.
When I was in this musical I was the little kangaroo. I loved it! But since I was so small I was not all that good. The age group was second through eighth grade, but the producer was a family friend and my future teacher so she let me in. 🤗😊

The fifth grade of three schools in our district is doing a big production. The managers littarly said, “WeRe NoT dOiNg AuDiTioNs” they said in all the games and song practices whoever was good or comfortable and things like that I’ve been Trying to hard to do that.
Sooooo, The Portage High School is doing this play and they said they needed A fourth or fifth grader to play JoJo. I decided I would try-out. I’m really excited! Edit: I know JoJo is a boy. I’ve been a boy in the majority of the plays I’ve done.
Woohoo! I was Jojo in this very performance (this was about 6 years ago now), and even though I’m in college now and don’t act anymore, it was still one of the best experiences of my life!
I know I’m a year late but…they’d totally pick you if you did “biggest blame fool” they’d know you had experience and knowledge with the song. And you can hit those high notes! 😊
I love that this is literally in a gym and has fold up chairs, yet it has a bar

I really like how the costumer made a contrast between the 2 worlds by using warm colors for the who’s and cool colors for the animals.

Not sure if you caught on that these are just kids...not like it's a professional trumpet who's getting paid like $100 a performance or something...
