bootleg exists mainly due to availability issues. for example the metal build designs being locked behind very expensive figures, pb kits that have very limited print, or kits that are outright dont exist (mg stargazer, mg gp02 2.0)
Exactly, some kits are either really out-dated (and Bandai refuses to update them), or they get reprints so rarely, that the chance of getting real one is next to none... Yeah, I look at you, Zaku Warrior variants
Bandai deserves it. I hope this kills their sales. Not giving us MGs or PGs for " eco friendly" bullshit or whatnot is their fault. I whole heartidly support these bootlegs until bandai gets their heads out of their asses. 1 MG a year is garbage and theres no excuse
Again if you make a market, then completly abandon it, and cry that someone is taking your IP, then your a fool. I love bandai MGs, but for whstever BS reason bandai decided to completly abandon their customers. If they want it back, theyre going to have to actually appease their customers, which we are, because its all their fault for being so stupid and out of touch with their fans. Bandai 100% deserves this and we should be buying bootlegs continuously until bandai ddcides to ACTUALLY listen to their customers.
Daban still not producing Expansion Parts for PG, like Perfect Strike Parts for PG Strike....would be a solutions to create Perfect Strike Custom with double sword or launcher but in cheaper way...
I only go for the daban kits that bandai hasn't made or haven't been reissued by bandai that are out of print now. So far I haven't had any problems with mine other then the beam saber missing but since mine was the MG FAZZ in FULL ARMOR DOUBLE ZETA and the normal MG FAZZ didn't come with it, I'm not too upset since I had 1/48 grandpa beam saber to give him lol
I think especially since you got it secondhand off marketplace you really shouldn’t worry about “moral culpability” for bootlegs, at least in this case
For anybody who hasn’t built knock-offs before, they’re always a pain because the fitting QA isn’t as tight or perfect as Bandai’s. That’s normal. And hell, even owning those kits in japan is a jail sentence, but that doesn’t mean they’re BAD. Just means it’s going to test your patience and problem-solving skills, because after all: what is a model if not a puzzle you get to build?
Bandai refuses to provide its customers with what they want, new 1/100 kits, so I'm giving ALL my money to these third party kits. There's nothing unethical about this, the second Bandai actually begins making them again more than once or twice a year, I'll start supporting Bandai again. Until then, all they get is a big middle finger.
This is not even a Daban 6XXX series. This is a Daban 8XXX series that mean this is a improved kit. I have the MK II FA and the Jagd Doga both from the 8XXX The first one is the 2.0 with added external detail like a 1/100 RG and the FA parts tonout on top of it and the second is a complete retool of the RE/100 elevated to MG standard. Both destroy normal Bandai kits This wull be the same of. More details more gimmicks. Mire everything.
Honestly for me, it’s a mix of Convenience and availability, I now have 3 Daban kits and so far they’ve been fantastic. Their PG Unicorn Perfectibility is absolutely fantastic, plus comes with literally everything you possibly could want, all with a price tag to the equivalent of Bandais Offical Standard Unicorn. Then I got their MB of the Destiny, and that kit is also fantastic and absolutely beautiful. Funnily enough I had to put it “More” effort into that kit but it was only minor fitment issues (it has some really tiny ass pieces). Bandai has been starving us of MGs now for a while so on the one hand yes it “Hurts Bandai” that should be the sign they need to course correct and give us more MG, cause as of now the 3rd party makers are gonna take my money
Daban Destiny was a blast, great looking kit based off the bandai metal build, super solid too. Only modification I made was a deeper well for the new hip guns daban added, original holes were too shallow.
I feel the same way about 3rd party and bootleg kits. But I really want a MG RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam and I don't want to pay 4x the price of a standard MG for a P-Bandai glorified repaint (aside from different ankle armour, forearms and a different rifle) So I decided to buy a standard MG RX-78 and customize it. With the recommendation from another YT creator, I went to a site which sells Daban MG RX-78s for $28USD including shipping which converts to about $40CAN. I just wanted a MG to customize and I can't argue with a $40 MG. It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't comment on the quality. But if it isn't perfect, I will just take it as a learning opportunity to better my skills.
@@markkirk7305 yeah exactly I'm currently building a MG G3 Gundam 2.0. It is a repaint of the standard Gundam, but it was sold like a normal kit. I'm not sure how old it is, but it's probably fairly old since it's a 2.0. You know if they made a G3 of the MG 3.0 or the Origin nowadays that it would be P-Bandai, even though the only difference is the color.
Dramok kits werent enhanced, they just added little customizations that made the kit more aesthetically pleasing and because of that they got shut down.

This is a detailed version of the master grade. Way more better than the original interns of armor detail and effect parts

This kit is on my list. It looks so good. Then I'll have every Sword Impulse that they've made.

This is what I did too. I wanted an MG Leo. So I bought a Daban Tallgeese and just 3d printed the Leo parts lol
Can't wait for the build, another 3rd party kit is already developing a MG 1/100 Rising Freedom.
