The Supreme Court does not have the authority to interpret the Constitution, only the States as the Union can interpret any aspect of the Constitution of the United States, as it is their agreement, and if the interpretation has changed, then they must use Article 5 of the Constitution of the United States to establish that new interpretation!

So, your Mayberry versus Madison is an unconstitutional decision, and in fact, the Supreme Court doesn’t decide which cases it hears and decides, the united States, in congress assembled is the last resort on appeal, once the petition is filed in Congress, then Congress assembles a court to hear and decide the merits of the petition, and they must choose 5 justices by lot starting with the petitioner from a pool of no less than 7 and no more than 9 justices, which does not include the Chief Justice who presides over the Supreme Court proceeding, those who preside do no participate.
Furthermore it’s Congress who establishes the Supreme and Lower Courts, which means the States as the Union assembled in the Senate must assemble those bodies themselves, yes the pool is continually seated, with the requirement of “Good Behavior”, the President doesn’t determine the justices in the pool or any ideological balance on the court, the President only provides a list of nominees for the States in the Senate to consider when replacements for vacancies are necessary, a number and the required qualifications determined by the States assembled in the Senate as part of their advice which is established by Senate rules for their proceedings, then the States as they are assembled in the Senate determine the choice by vote, 1 vote per State, and a majority of all the States is necessary to the choice, then the President is empowered to appoint that person to fill the vacancy.
There’s a huge difference between assembly and appointments for vacancies!
All the States must participate in the assembly of the Court and in appointments for vacancies because they have agreed to abide by the decisions of the court to resolve their conflicts and differences, and to adjudicate petitions for redress of grievances when properly legislated laws are made by a properly assembled legislature disproportionately affect or disenfranchise a State or States.
The Supreme Court cannot have the power of interpretation because that creates mutability of government where the change in ideological balance on the court changes how laws are interpreted. If you don’t understand this mutability, see Roe v. Wade!

It’s not that any leader needs to “convince” or “move people to our side,” it’s that we ALL must continue to engage and communicate, and listen respectfully, but push back respectfully, as appropriate to, in order to continue to keep some semblance of community, civility, human respect, and chance of continued democratic engagement and combined self rule.
Neither Left nor Right nor center, black or white or other, men nor women, straight or LGBTQ+, religious or atheist, etc etc, can say any one viewpoint holds all the right answers to every question, nor even deserves all the power, nor should try to completely “cancel” or blame or even try to ignore completely their neighbors.
Humans are social animals. The more we insist on treating any particular group as “other,” the more we keep our legislators segregated, the more we denigrate and refuse to even listen to or be civil with “other side,” the closer we become to tribal packs of animals just wanting to mindlessly fight for “territory.”

Focus groups are better than going on Fox News and then broadcasting far and wide. But it has to be a very large contingency of us doing it. Eventually telling those who are deceived the truth will become the norm for those who are used to being lied to. I don’t completely agree that those who are consistently lied to realize they’ve been lied to on some level but I do know that there is a dis-ease within those who can’t make things fit. It reveals itself even to them at times in that they can’t really tell an honest story because the pieces of the puzzle are not at all able to fit with any narrative they’ve been taught to apply. And too there have been so many of these people who have lied and deceived so many who are being found liable and even criminally culpable that it’s hard not to notice, even for the greatly deceived. The ones going down were the ones touted previously as truth sayers and now that falseness is crumbling overall, it’s like watching the towers come down of the castle to reveal the facade. We have to never give up even though we are not responsible to convince or save the foolish and the vulnerable, still we have to find ways to teach and to lead that are beneficial for all. And we have to hold those who have done the damage accountable. We will get there peeps, hang in.
