I first heard Indodana by SUC in 2014 while still at school. It completely absorbed and overwhelmed me, and I made a promise to myself I would sing in this choir. 5 years later, the dream came true, and the journey from that 1st time hearing it finally came full circle by performing this, my favourite piece, in my final year. Thank you SUC for taking my heart and soul to Heaven for 4 years❤️
Wow this is beautiful. I sat in the church when you guys performed this. I honestly always thought Tukkies did it better... Until this one... Spine chilling....absolute spine chilling. Getting chills right now. Me,my wife and a lady friend who saw you perform for the first time, the tears rolled down her cheek... My all time favourite choir...

South Africa's painful past is really one of the greatest contributors in creating people who simply sing from the depth of their souls. People who wrote these song such as this one (Indodana), Tshela moya, Senzeni na and many more, these songs are extremely spiritual and yet very emotional songs and joyful at the same time, they speak of pain and yet great hope and thanksgiving. Our South African choirs literally stands out in the world.
Njalo mfo ka Rhadebe.. I'm new apostolic so grew up with choral music my best choirs.. Let's pray for Mzantsi Bawo let's all try and live together in harmony, thank you sharing @suc
Yooh I love this choir so much I'm from Namibia,,,,you guys won't understand how much I love you guys keep up the good work I wish I'll meet you guys one day
Beautiful. Until one sings in a talented choir with a gifted director, they may never know the roller coaster of emotions that music especially sacred music, can take the singers and director on. I experienced this over 20 years ago in college when I joined the choir after auditioning and being lucky that they needed two Bass II singers. I will always remember that choir and the tour we went on and the music forever.
When I joined SUC in 2016, this was the song the "old" choir sang to welcome me and my fellow new members into the choir. The song was the pulse by which my heart became one with this glorious family. Then this year, when I was able to watch the choir for my first time as an audience member rather than on stage, this song showed me that same pulse was beating strong and eternally. The voices may be different, and the faces may have changed, but the music touched my heart, my soul, in exactly the same way as it did 7 years ago. I still felt as linked to these amazing humans as I did back then; my family and home. These words fail to describe how the full extent of the emotions and cascade of memory this one song can evoke, but for the love I feel for my choir brothers, sisters, and siblings, I will always share my support❤️
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 Thank you Stellenbosch University Choir🥹❤️
I adore this piece of music performed by Stellenbosch. But the thing which strikes me the most this time is that this choir is THE definition of unity of diversity.
What a wonderful sound. I see 'every color of the rainbow' united in creating beauty and bringing peace. Thank you choir. You have enriched my soul today.
Have I died and gone to Heaven. Are these the Heavenly Hosts welcoming me home? How can I express my gratitude to you for making such beautiful, Heavenly music with only your voices? As I am also a choral singer, I understand the power your collective voices hold. Never stop singing 😢 voices
This choir CAN'T be from Earth! These voices... mainly Altos. What a warmth! I'm currently writing another arrangements (spiritual and brazilian bossa nova), and it will be a GREAT honor to hear 'em sung by the wonderful group! Congrats, again, from Brazil. To the choir and to the conductor.
Holy cow that'd bring a tear to a glass eye. Just spectacular. Cheers from Australia! (Also, just quietly, it's lovely to see members of the choir posting comments on these videos)
this sounds so amazing Stellies choir. Does this conductor dream music, I wonder. It takes something beyond skill to combine all these voices and create some magic. Wow. Love from Namibia
This choir makes me cry everytime I listen to them... I love and appreciate their passion for music... You can see it in their eyes and body language whenever they sing🙏🏽🙏🏽
I have no words, but perfection. This is a director that has nothing but the highest expectations for his choir, and they give nothing less than what he expects. Such a beautiful sound.
Music is simply spiritual because it was created by God Himself...im sure he delights when we use our voices to glorify him...now imagine the level of worship up in heaven...😊😊
When i first sang indodana, i was incapsulated with its beauty and couldnt get enough of it. Of course, thats how discovered the 2014 rendition done by SUchoir, and ever since then i wanted to be a part of this family of voices. Never had i imagined that i would be singing this beautiful new rendition of Indodana, and indeed, with this family of voices♥️ What a blessing, what a joy.
The change in time signature from the original arrangement is something that I would never have thought of, and it is so brilliant!!! Such a blessing to witness this era of SUC.
I always become teary when I listen to this choir. I don't know why I become so emotional. They are so good despite the challenges that come out of Stellenbosch University
Your harmonies are sublime. Please, do carry all you’ve learned making such harmony out into our disharmonious world. I’m listening with an uplifted and hope filled heart in San Diego, California.
Are you singing in this performance, Lefa? I remember seeing your comments in "Suiderkruis" where you introduced yourself-- thank you for doing so! :) Are you still studying at Stellenbosch, or have you graduated/ moved on? Blessings from North Carolina, USA!

While we go into uni with hopes to graduate and go back into society to make meaningful contributions, I think that one of the worst days for a SUC chorister is the day they graduate🤧
I sang this in choir in highschool around 10-12 years ago, it is the most emotional and ethereal song we ever sang. This choir’s performance reminds me of how we sounded when we performed this piece.. it’s beautifully done by this choir. Bravo 💙
